My husband and I joined the credit union when we decided to apply for a VA mortgage. Initially, I found a bank officer to be helpful answering all of my questions. The credit union uses Member First Mortgage for their underwriting and loan approval. The officer did not disclose this relationship and was unhelpful during the loan process,Subsequently, I had two very unpleasant interactions. The officer said we did not have enough equity in our home to qualify for home equity loan. We later found this to be untrue. He instead approved us for a very high interest personal loan. I contacted him six months later and complained the payment was too much. We had a very unpleasant email exchange in which I challenged his customer service skills and empathy. Another officer got involved and stated we have a large amount of equity in our home and I agreed to convert the high interest loan to a second mortgage.Most recently, I applied for a secure car loan. We were denied due to poor credit although they acknowledged our payment history on all our secure loans was formidable never being late. I was able to easily secure financing with two auto dealerships.I am VERY disappointed with One Credit Union. We will not do any more future business with this institution. I suspect negative bias in our interactions.
