The service buffers some, but overall it is tolerable. It is not like my StarLink which is designed to provide high speed Wi-Fi 24/7/365.25. Buffering is unheard of with StarLink: Anyhow, I reside in *****************, during the Summer months and this Summer as well as a couple Summer's ago, when I return, the battery is dead and chirping for some emergency phone idea that I don't subscribe to or pay for anyway. I was told by the VTEL technician that initiated service the battery must be ***** up 5-6 years ago. All these years, I have been buying these batteries for a service I did not even require. Today, I took the dead battery to VTEL's ************** building in ***********,**. I was greeted with a large deck with inviting characteristics that also had 20 or so 8.5 x 11 inch flyers with stupid directions about dozens of things. I was not even greeted by a human. Instead, like a Russian prison camp, VTEL have a 1980s landline sitting on a table with a ***** number that fails. When you dial the number, you get a busy signal o you get a voicemail saying the number is no longer inservice. I banged on the glass window. Someone was hiding inside. After about 15 minutes this young woman came out and wanted to know why I was there. I asked about the battery. She had no clue about it, but said people buy them at Ace hardware. She said she thought I required the battery for wi-fi but was not sure. So after going to Ace I was told I do not require a battery for wi-fi. I dialed some guru at VTEL with my functionl mobile service and was also told my Wi-Fi might not need a battery to work. I am home and it does not need a battery! So, I have been spending $30-$50 a year for batteries for a VTEL component that a simple one-statement dialougue in a call or email could of saved me hundreds low side. Very poor selfish customer service. Wasting everyone's time making themselves unavailable at the their building, don't know answer to questions about their own systems. 30 * 5

V-Tel is probably the worst company I have worked with while living here in Vt. Last yr signed up for cable and internet. Quoted a **** approx $123.00/mo in just 11 months that **** has jumped to $153/mo without and warning. The girl on the phone was very rude and could care less. Basically said you dont like it, tough, and next yr its going up even more.
