My name is *************************. I purchased a 2021 Honda Civic on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 from the Burien Honda Dealership. I went into the dealership and requested to buy the Honda Civic at the advertised price of ~$19,000. There were two addons (TWS VSC and GAP insurance) that I was bamboozled into believing I had to purchase if I wanted buy the car. Again, Finance and Sales made it clear that I had no choice but to purchase these add-ons if I wanted to buy the car. Same day of the purchase, I went back to the finance department and asked if we can cancel the add-ons and I was told that canceling wasnt an option. This morning, I called the third party that provides these add-on services and they confirmed that I am not required to purchase these add-ons so Burien Honda finance department lied. I reviewed my contract/addendums and it states that I can cancel the add-ons within 30 days of making the purchase. As a quick recap: I asked to remove the add-on before I made the purchase. Ive verbally requested to cancel the add-ons the same day I bought the Honda Civic. Now, Ive made a written request to cancel the add-ons just two days after the purchase. Thus I am well within the timeframe to cancel these add-ons, so my request should be honored however it isnt. Honda did offer to exchange the car but thats isnt resolving the issue of removing the add-ons. My request isnt anything to do with the car. I want the car. Again, I just want to cancel the add-ons.The fact that my request isnt honored give me the impression that the Burien Honda Dealership has done a bait and switch. This is why I have come to the Better Business Bureau. I dont understand why my request to honor cancelation of the add-on isnt being honored, especially since the contract says I have 30 days to cancel. Further more, I dont understand how I can be forced to purchase add-ons that I dont want just to buy a car at its advertised price. Can you please help me to resolve this issue?
