    Freedom Towing and Transport LLC Towed a vehicle on 1/3/2024. I received a towing invoice #**** stating a vehicle I had sold was impounded. I called and explained that I had sold the vehicle two years ago. I went to the *** and got documents that stated it had been sold. Took the documents to the Towing company and they refused them. The vehicle was towed from the address of the person who purchased the vehicle. I do not feel I am responsible for this debt. Please help me resolve this.

    On January 31st, **** the **** ****** Impreza was impounded from a private property in *****, ********** at 8:39 PM by Freedom Towing & Transport LLC for being an unauthorized vehicle. We requested the registered owner information on 2/1/**** through the ********************* of ********** The registration showed the complainant as the most current registered owner of the vehicle. At that time, no report of sale had been filed. The vehicle impound notice was mailed to the complainant on 2/1/****. On 2/5/****, the complainant came to our office with a Report of Sale on the **** ****** Impreza that had been filed that day with the ********************* of ********** I explained to the complainant that according to RCW 46.12.101, a properly filed sellers report must be filed within five business days after the sale of the vehicle. The Report of Sale that was filed on the **** ****** Impreza by the complainant was filed nearly two years after he claims to have sold the vehicle. In addition to the Report of Sale not being filed properly, it was filed after the date of impound on 1/31/****. The attached document shows that on 2/1/**** there was still no indication of a Report of Sale. Therefore, the complainant is the financially responsible party for the impound fees that have accrued on the **** ****** Impreza at Freedom Towing & Transport LLC. In order to move forward, the complainant may contact us about how to stop the fees from accruing as well as a payment plan.

    I have attached the Registered Owner information above showing that the Report of Sale was not filed in time. It was not attached in the initial response as it contains personal information.
