I resided at Maple Park Apartments in ********** for one year. My original roommate (who moved out in November, 2023, and I both paid a $750 security deposit at the start of the lease in April 2023 -- so a total of $1500. My roommate moved out in November but the apartment management would not return his portion of the deposit at that time. They said they would return the full deposit at the end of the year-long lease. During that year, my apartment had many maintenance issues -- mold on the walls, water leaks from apartment above me, bathroom air fan didn't work, toilet clogged easily, etc. I took good care of the apartment, and requested that the apt maintenance team fix these issues but many of these issues did not get fixed in a timely manner or at all. The mold on the walls was of particular concern to me as it can cause major health issues. I know that the people living below also had mold issues so bad that they had to move out. That said, I did take good care of the apartment and the apartment manager told me that we would receive $500 of my $1500 security deposit on or around March 21st - the last day per the contract for when the apartment was required to return the deposit. I have requested a detailed summary of why they are only returning $500 of the $1500 and still haven't received the deposit or an explanation. The Apartment manager tells me when I call that the "check is in the mail" but as of 10th of April, I still haven't received the explanation or the check.

Don't rent here unless you don't mind favoritism from the manager. I was able to see an attractive woman, who was not a resident of the community, sitting on a bench for one or one and a half hours. A young girl ran out to walk her dog, saw the woman, halted and quickly returned home. This on a few occasions. There is no excuse for that. Who would ever want to call this place home? When I moved in I found a big earthworm on my living room floor which was so unusual that I had them change my locks. Such abuse of privacy is extremely serious. *************************, the manager has systematically mismanaged everything concerning me. The office is always closed. I disliked it as a place to live so much that I broke my lease two months early. With just *************************, a young female tenant and myself, their conversation turned to "Feminine hygiene." It made me wonder whether she had some kind of agenda or difficulty with men. I repeated it at a later time and she showed no recognition. Upon leaving for vacation in the middle of the month I left a check for rent. They cashed it immediately. Overseas I decided to send in my rent from there. They claimed that they never received it and two thick envelopes were stuck on my door and in my mailbox. I had to pay $ 110 in legal fees also. I wrote a new check. Suddenly the check that was sent in appeared. I said that it could be put towards the next month's rent. It was cashed immediately! Once can be claimed as a mistake; twice, it's deliberate. 3 times threatened with eviction with a thick letter stuck to my door and another going to my mailbox. She exaggerates her importance. Maintenance threw up dirt with their power tools onto my patio, also causing a strong odor. For responding strongly to this I was threatened with eviction and accused of cussing which was false. All the passageways to the front doors are filthy. It is one month that I've left and ****'s reply to refunding my security deposit: "I have 30 days left." Lazy.
