      Discovering a leak in a water service line, we called ****'s to come dig up the leak and repair it. They quoted $1200 to $1500 and we agreed. They showed up and quickly excavated the area where it was leaking, at which point I was on the phone with my manager who was on site with them and I overheard the plumber confirm that for the $1500 they would locate, excavate and repair the pipe. It took the two plumbers about one hour to do this work. Immediately after they left, the hole filled up with water and we called them back to come back and repair it properly. They sent an invoice for $1500 plus $480 for actually repairing the leak plus $129 for travel time, for a total of $2,111, which is about $500/hour for each plumber for the time they were there. Their claim is they never agreed to actually repair the leak, and that they put a "patch" on it as a courtesy. In twenty years as a general contractor building homes and dealing with subcontractors in all fields, I have never encountered anyone so disreputable and predatory. They do not base their charges on what is reasonable, but on what they think they can demand. Another reputable plumber I use charges $108/hour for a journeyman plumber.****'s Plumbing is a predatory business who is out there fleecing the unsuspecting and should not be called for any plumbing need.
