We requested emergency weekend service. For this, we are in their Green program--we pay some large amount of money every year to guarantee we will get someone out during off hours. Well, here's what happened. Our boiler went out. But natural gas was continuing to flow through the system. The only thing keeping us safe was an old exhaust fan which, thankfully, kept working. The tech that Greenwood sent out admitted he was new to boilers. So he couldn't find anything wrong (my son had already restarted the boiler.) However, we could clearly see that the flames were yellow rather than blue and that the ignition assembly was not functioning as desired. So that tech left after not finding the issue and charging us well over $500. On monday, I found a new company which does service boilers. They came out and immediately found the VERY OBVIOUS problem that the ignition assembly gas line was disconnected! This meant that gas was, indeed, free flowing into the boiler case. This could have had a very unsafe outcome for us, and I am quite disappointed in Greenwood. Adding to that is my question: why was the assembly disconnected? Did the weekend guy do it? Or, Greenwood had been out the previous week to do a yearly check on the boiler. Could be a coincidence?Further, while the weekend phone person was very friendly, when I called on Monday, I was met with one of the most belligerent phone operators ever. I have paid Greenwood so much money, and and received worse than nothing in return. Add to that, we are lucky our house didn't fill with gas and blow up. Or, with all the yellow, rather than blue, flames, a carbon monoxide situation. Not ideal!

My wife hired Greenwood to inspect our air conditioning unit. If I had seen the ** rating from BBB, I would not have hired them. My wife checked reviews on ******* which were good. My complaint is that they charged us $300.00 for a part that cost around $20.00. The a/c unit was working fine, we just wanted them to check it, since the hot weather is coming. On their report it said that the capacitor failed, but it was working before they did their check. Ill pay them a logical amount for the part, but a markup of $280 is a bit much.

We are beyond frustrated, we had Greenwood out yesterday to diagnose and repair our AC unit as it is doing the same thing that it did 2 years ago when it stopped blowing cold air. Back then, Greenwood came out diagnosed and fixed it under warranty. This time was a completely different situation. Our technician came out spent maybe 10 total minutes looking at our unit (he was on our property smoking and checking his cell phone for the majority of the time in his truck) then presented us with a diagnostic bill of $391 and an estimate of $5,000+ on a fix he couldn't say exactly what it would be but that it would be around $5,000+. When I asked him why he could not tell me exactly what the problem is or verify that it was the same problem that was fixed under warranty a few years ago he replied he didn't come prepared with the proper tools! I asked him if we still had to pay the $391 for the so called diagnosis and we were told yes. This is NOT ok to say the least, the fact we were lied to on the phone (when we made the appointment we were told it was an appointment to fix our unit) when we made our appointment and then charged $391 for nothing being done and further being high balled on a bid of $5,000 is unreal. It needs Freon just like it did last time and the coil that was defective last time is more than likely the same culprit. We are going to proceed with speaking with the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General . What a terrible way to treat previous customers, being mislead and lied to is just not ok.

Price gouging to the extreme. I have a local mini split dealer who quoted me 3003$ for a complete system and in stock, there representative came to my home and quoted me $21,000 to 40,000$ for the job. I asked him to leave and announced that i would never to business with them. I paid 4K for the system to be initially installed. But i already had a system installed, so more of the work was done they only had to replace existing unit. Please let this business die... they do not deserve to exist at the expense of unknowing people.

I get the pandemic but then be HONEST. I bought my furnace with Greenwood - and it has broken down consistently - each time causing me more and more money to Greenwood. They would send someone out to do maintenance and then things would go wrong from there. And everything that went wrong had two lousy elements attached; 1) OVERCHARGING and 2) DELAY DELAY. It took 45 minutes on hold to get dispatch. Then I got an appointment 3 months later (seriously MARCH from a DEC call) Then when i told them it was not functioning, they fast tracked me - 2 weeks. AVOID GREENWOOD. Also not they are NOT a BBB business.

My wife and I moved into our ******* home only 2 weeks ago. Greenwood Heating and Air Conditioning was recommended to us. Based on our experience related below of the past two weeks, we will never use Greenwood again.Oct. 12 - (Before we moved into our ******* home) I called Greenwood to make an appointment for an annual maintenance and checkup on my ******* furnace and air conditioning unit. I told Greenwood at that time we had no basement and that the furnace was in a crawl space. An appointment was made for Oct. 29.Oct. 29 - A very knowledgeable Greenwood technician arrived and wanted to be helpful but realized he couldnt go under the house because he had a knee injury and was getting a note from his doctor saying the same. He called the Greenwood office, who set up a replacement technician to do the annual maintenance and checkup on Nov. 2.Oct. 30 (Saturday) Furnace died during the night of Oct. *****. No heat. I called Greenwood requesting emergency service on the weekend, but was informed that the tech on call that weekend wouldnt fit under the house. They then scheduled emergency repair for Monday Nov. 1.Nov. 1 I called Greenwood to request rescheduling of the Nov. 2nd maintenance appointment due to something important my wife and I needed to attend to on Nov. 2nd. I was then informed that the repair tech couldnt come today Nov. 1 because they couldnt fit in the crawl space. At this point we have had no heat for 3 days while experiencing the coldest days of the season so far. [NOTE: Greenwood did not proactively let me know a tech was not coming on Nov. 1st. It was only because I happened to call them that I found out!] I ended up agreeing to let the Nov. 2nd maintenance appointment stay as scheduled and the tech would do the repair first and the maintenance if there was time.Nov. 2 Tech came and in less than an hour, fixed the furnace for $978, including ~$640 for a new condensate pump. At that point I told him I wasnt interested in his doing the maintenance, and didnt want it rescheduled. This is terrible customer service. Every time I spoke to ********************** I reminded them the furnace was in a crawl space, yet they continued to send people who couldnt work down there and cancelled an appointment without notifying me. To add insult to injury, a charge of $978 to replace a condensate pump is an abomination. I was told ~$640 of the **** was for the pump itself, although I never received the itemized **** I was promised. The condensate pump installed on my furnace is a NXTGen Little Giant model ******. This exact model of condensate pump I was charged $640 for is available on Amazon for $60.00! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0026PHJMY/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_M7704GA101MGNWB4WS3N We certainly will never use Greenwood again. Further, I will pursue all available means of informing others looking for HVAC service of our experience in the hopes of steering them clear of this very poorly run organization.Rod B Nov. 6, 2021

TERRIBLE LIARS AND THIEVES. LIED to me about what was wrong with my furnace in order to try and sell me a new one. Charged $300 for this info and did not diagnose real problem which was a $20 fix. they get commissions whne they refer for a new system. Really disgusting. Never emailed me my invoice, just the estimate of $1400 to fix. I watched what the technician looked at and the second person we had come out did much more and I had heat the next day. DON'T USE THEM! Worst ever. No wonder they aren't memebers of the BBB!

Three for three --bad service. I'm in real estate so have many opportunities to see them fail. NEVER again.
