July 9 I contacted In and Out plumbing because my house flooded in the hallway and under the toilet. The initial quote for snaking the drains was $1200.00 this was not done. The next quote was $7,816 to attempt to clear 75 ft of main line, replace lead ****** and install clean out. On that same day the quote went up to $22,197.88 because they said the sewer line needed repair. On July 10 the quote went up again to $33,292.95 for the addition of 60 ft of sewer liner. At this point I have paid $21.098.94 owing $12,194.01. On July 16 the job except for final inspection was finished and that we could use everything as usual. We did laundry and the house flooded again in the same manner as before. At this point I started wondering if I really needed a new sewer line. How could I have just paid $21,098.94 and my house still flooded? The job was completely finished July 19. On July 19 he asked for final payment, I asked several times for an itemized list. They refused saying they do not itemize by time and materials as they work on a by job basis. My estimate is 4 guys 6, 6 hr days, 2 of them were standing around the majority of the time, plus $1000 - $2000 in materials. On July 31, ********************************************************* "to begin the collection process of filing a lien against your property and garnishing your wages and you will be responsible for collection and legal fees as mentions on our terms and conditions"I got bids from $17,000 to $21,000 from 2 other sewer repair contractors and both the The city inspector, my insurance adjuster indicated that I was being overcharged.I asked if he was willing to negotiate to the $21.098.94 already paid with no response On August 5 16 days after job was completed I received a letter from attorney ************************* indicating that they are putting a lien on my property. It also said I authorized my tenant to sign for repairs. I do not have a tenant, I live with my niece neither of us signed anything.
