Our *********** Mobius boat had a remanufactured ****** **** installed by Sundown Marine. (WRCLM #****** CS ****** IOM ******) The **** completely failed after minimal use last August and had to be replaced by ****** Marine in ******, ***** - another ****** ****** reseller this Spring. Both ****** and ****** indicated that the #4 injector failed, then causing 2 pushrods to completely bend and caused the **** to prematurely fail. Both indicated that the injectors should have been tested and calibrated, however it's very likely they were not, thus causing the premature failure. Sundown Marine refused to do anything last fall when we contacted them with the issue, brushing us off telling us it was not their fault without even offering to look at the boat and inspect their own workmanship. They would not provide any paperwork reflecting the injectors were tested and passed prior to installation either. The boat has just had the replacement **** installation completed at ****** Marine (due to labor issues) and we are now out thousands of dollars for a completely avoidable repair due to the less than professional installation performed by Sundown. We are seeking reimbursement of our out of pocket costs for poor workmanship to replace the **** by a professional shop due to the neglect of Sundown Marine. Diagnosis last fall was in excess of $600, and the repairs this year were in excess of $3200. ****** only reimbursed us $1300, but said that the **** never would have failed had the injectors been in good operating condition - which they were not.
