On January 28, 2023, **** and ***** went to Leskovar ********** to test drive a 2023 ********** Outlander AWD vehicle. Salesman ************************* asked **** and ***** which color car they wanted to drive. They chose to test drive the gray Outlander AWD vehicle, priced at $32,999.When **** and ***** returned from the test drive, **** directed ***** and **** to a white ********** which was $3000 less. **** and ***** asked **** several times what the difference between the white car and the gray car was, and **** told them each time that it was exactly the same car. **** and ***** asked **** why the price for the white car was less, and he replied, I dont know; maybe its been on the lot for a while. ***** purchased the white 2023 Outlander on January 28, 2023.On February 17, 2023, the Outlander gave an engine malfunction warning light. On February 22, 2023, a tow truck driver picked up the vehicle for servicing. The driver asked ***** if the car was AWD and she told him it was. The tow truck driver informed ***** that the car was in fact front wheel drive. ***** and **** were shocked to find out that they had been sold a car without AWD. They had planned to take the car over a mountain pass with a forecast for snow and depended on the car having AWD.At no time during the discussion with the salesman did **** tell them that the car they purchased had front wheel drive, despite repeated questions and opportunities to do so.After several discussions with the Leskovar sales manager *********************, this matter has not been resolved to the satisfaction of ***** and ****. They have offered to pay the difference in the sale price of the vehicle (now $1500) and expect Leskovar to absorb the cost of depreciation of the car sold to them under false pretenses as well as the fees that were already paid in the purchase of the white front wheel drive Outlander (licensing fees [$300], documentation fees [$200], anti-theft protection [$299], etc.).Business Response

**** has been selling cars for Leskovar for years and in those years he has never been suspected of or accused of misleading any customers. We have the utmost confidence in ****'s integrity and capability. We offered to buy the vehicle back for what customer paid for it and sell them an all wheel drive for $3000 more which was the price differential between a 2wd and an Awd at the time they made the original purchase. The customer declined that resolution.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
************************* and ********************* are absolutely at fault and they intentionally told us that the car we were purchasing was ***. Their offer to buy back the car was not at the price we paid--it was at a depreciated value plus the cost of paying again a number of licenses and fees. In addition, the difference in the price of the *** car and the one I purchased is now $1500. Leskovar thinks that they are going to continue to profit from their shady sales tactics, and I am not willing to allow that. My offer is to pay the difference in the price of the car ($1500), and I expect that they can absorb the fees that have already been paid.
Sincerely,

On September 1,2022 I hauled a **** Suzuki XL-7 from ******* to Leskovar in ********* to get the timing chains replaced there, since they had been a Suzuki dealer and the former Suzuki dealer in ******* -said they didnt do that kind of repair anymore. The person I had talked to on the phone at Leskovar was knowledgeable about XL-7s, explaining how it had 3 timing chains with hydraulic tensioners, the engine would need to be pulled to replace them, etc., and so the total cost would be around $1,200.My wife and I decided it would be worth it to us to spend that much money, so I trailered it to *********, since a previous mechanic had told us the timing chain could break anytime, making the engine junk. When I called the next week I was told that timing chain repair would now cost over $3,000, and that I could never have been told it would be $1,200. I was also told the manager would call me back the next day. This new cost put a completely different perspective on the earlier decision to trailer it there and repair it.Also, when I had left it at Leskovars the rep who did the paperwork said that after it had been examined, the diagnostic expense of $500-something would be subtracted from the cost of the repairs (for the timing chains and two other items I wanted fixed). The manager never called nor returned any of my calls that next week. He finally answered my call the second week, claiming he had called me several times but I didnt answer, and that he had tried to leave messages but my voicemail was full. I had been waiting all week for his call and my phone showed there were no calls at any time from Leskovar, nor was my voicemail ever full there were voicemails from the whole week up to the morning of the second week when we did talk. He also claimed no one could ever have originally told me the timing chain repair would cost $1,200. At this point I was still going to have Leskovar make the other repairs so the $500+ diagnostic charge could be appliedBusiness Response

The vehicle was dropped off here at the dealership with no appointment. ***************** related to us that he had been quoted $1200 for the repair and we informed him that there was no way we could do the repair for that price and told him that it would cost triple that amount. We have interviewed everyone who might have spoken to him and no one has any recolletion of such a conversation. The people who speak to service customers are all very experienced and we can't imagine any of them making the mistake that ****************** is describing. We are mystified by this complaint.

I am rejecting this response because:
I will have to respond to their reply by memory since you dont allow me to read their response again. To wit: I discussed my car and cost to fix it with them, and then made an appointment weeks in advance, then called a third time to tell them I was bringing it a day earlier than the appointment, then a fourth call the morning I brought it to tell them Id be there at noon. Which I was. So his statement that I didnt have an appointment is completely false, many times over. Both the first and second calls, to discuss the car and then make the appointment, the cost of $1200 was stated to me for the timing chain repair. I wish BBB would allow me to read their reply again so I could be sure if theres anything else I need to respond to.
Sincerely,

No one here knows anything about his appointment or $1200 repair quote. We haven't seen any pattern of the people here giving out incorrect repair quotes or not logging appointments.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:For the record, every point of Leskovar in their last response is totally untrue. In the four phone conversations before I delivered the car to them, three calls involved the appointment they arranged. I understand this is only to state the facts for the record, as I dont understand why they think its important for them to lie about something that is immaterial to the substance of this dispute, other than to attempt to distract attention from the real issues. To wit: denying they twice quoted a price of $1,200, and renigging on their statement that their charge for investigating the vehicle would be applied to any repairs done.
Sincerely,

I purchased a vehicle on Jan. 15th, 2022. On Saturday July 30th, 2022 it broke down on a trip. After researching the vin number I discovered their was a safety recall on the engine. The engine was replaced but it cost me additional charges due to suggested cleaning that would effect the operation of the vehicle. I reached out to the dealership that sold me the vehicle asking for to pay for suggested cleaning. Leskovar assume no responsibility in covering the cost of a vehicle that should of never been sold with a safety engine recall.Business Response

The ******* dealership suggested extra maintenance on the vehicle that could be helpful but is in no way essential or even necessary. It is up to the owner of the vehicle to decide if they want to buy the up- sells recommended and it is the responsibility of the owner of the vehicle to pay for those extra services it they choose to get them.Customer Answer
