We bought a 2018 GMC ****** diesel truck on July 15th for $6,000 down payment and $34,996.64 check and not even 6 maybe 7 hours after we purchased it, it started blowing white smoke. Called the dealership the very next morning July 16th and they had us take it to a shop. The one they usually use which is meineke had no openings to check out the truck until weeks later so we took it to another shop that they had suggested. On June 19th the shop found gas, water and diesel mixed in the fuel tank. The manager at the dealership said they would cover the cost of fixing the entire fuel system. They instead left it at the shop and didnt do anything about fixing it for 3 weeks, the dealership then had it towed to meineke without bothering to contact us or get confirmation if it was ok. We had to drive around town to 4 different shops just to find our truck after they would not call us back. Once we found the truck the dealership said they would order parts. 3 weeks went by and they have done nothing. Eventually one of the owners contacted us on August 26th and told us they wouldnt cover it and the manger told him they never said they would. I did however record that phone call and us asking why they towed it without telling us his excuse was to get a second opinion but why tow it somewhere else if you werent going to fix it? The shop it was at does record phone calls and I did speak to the manager who stated someone at the dealership put gas in it right before we picked it up to purchase it and they would pay to fix it. The manager at the shop it was last at did state the dealership called and told him to keep quiet and dont speak to the customers about the situation anymore and Im grateful both shops have called us after every phone call with the dealership. The first shop did however quote the dealership $14,558.17 for the entire fuel system while meineke quoted them about $18,500 for both parts and labor.Initial Complaint

18 November 2023, I purchased a vehicle from the previous ownership of Advantage Auto Direct. I specifically remember declining Caregard Vehicle Security System option for $399.00. Due to another issue with this company (not transferring the title of the vehicle I used as trade and that vehicle running a red light), I reviewed my purchase order and saw that I was charged $399.00 for this service. After reviewing the Caregard Vehicle Security System contract, I see that this was never signed by me. The current owners are amazing seem to be very helpful. They said that there is nothing they can do. I was charged for a service that I declined and never authorized. It's my understanding that when you assume ownership or acquire another company, you also assume the liability as well. I called Caregard directly and they stated that I would have to take this up with the dealership directly.Initial Complaint

On 11/27/2023 we purchased a vehicle from Advantage Auto Direct. We were charged $645.25 for licensing fees. When a person purchases a vehicle, the licensing fees are estimated and then when the car is actually licensed, any overages are refunded to the customer. In this instance, the actually licensing fees were $499.75 for a difference owed to me of $145.50. This dealership originally claimed that they mailed us the refund check along with our new license plates, but after numerous phone calls and emails to get updates on where our plates and check were, they finally admitted that they had sent both the plates and refund check to the wrong address. At that time they told us that we needed to go to DOL and get new plates issued and that due to this being their error, they would also reimburse us for the $77.25 that it cost us to purchase plates for our vehicle. We purchased the plates as instructed and provided them the documentation that we had done so and were told they would get us a check for $222.75. On March 18, 2024, the finance person in response to my email with the documentation indicated that he would forward this information to his accounting department. I reached out to them again on April 8th and April 10th to find out where our check was at it had been three weeks since the information had been sent to them. I did not receive a response as of April 11, 2024 and so I called the dealership. I spoke with their finance person and he said he would get back with me in a few hours. As of my writing of this I have not heard any updates. I am hoping that you can assist me with getting my rightfully owed money back. Thank youInitial Complaint

On 06/02/2023 I purchased a Audi A4 Wagon from Advantage Auto Direct. When I went to leave the the car had engine codes that came on when I started it. I got the sales team to come out and put a code reader on the car to see what the issue was. They acknowledged the problem and wrote me a "We Owe" Agreement to fix the car or unwind the car deal dated the same day as the purchase. They gave me a loaner vehicle and sent the car off to be fixed and I have not seen it since. On August 8th after months of them stalling and giving excuses they said they were going to refund my down payment of $3000.00 and unwind the $10000.00 auto loan. As of this complaint filing I still have not received a refund of my down payment nor has the loan been unwound.Customer Answer

Dealership is refusing to payoff my trade in. The loan I took out to purchase the car from the dealership was funded on the 5th of May, they are holding money that is meant to pay off the loan on my trade in. It is not their money and it is against the law.
