****** River moved us from Whidbey Island, ** to *******, ** in September-October 2023.Initially we were very impressed. Although we did most of our own packing, we saved most fragile pieces for them to move. They seemed to be very careful when packing and moving our belongings into their truck. In **********, however, it was a very different story. They rushed thru everything and I had to insist they put together pieces of furniture their crew in ********** had taken apart, which, initially, they refused to do. They literally dumped boxes on the floor, refusing even to put them in the rooms where they were to go. Did I mention we are 76 and 81 years old? and they expected us to lift heavy things? As they left the crew leader said you have only 90 days to file any claims. It took us a long time to unpack. We needed to ask the workmen in the senior community to which we moved to help us move boxes they had piled to the ceiling. Many things were damaged. Tables were scratched deeply, even a heavy glass tabletop of great value. Dishes and glassware were broken. And several items are still missing. We have moved 6 times and never had this level of damage done to our belongings or things missing. We finally contacted the insurance company about 70 days after the move. Too bad. We needed to file the claim within 60 days, and I recognize we should have reread the policy ourselves and not relied on what they told us.We caution anyone considering a move NOT to use this company.

We are extremely surprised by *************************************** review.  Delivery took place on 10/2/23 and on 10/12/23, we received an email from ******************** stating that she was still unpacking but knew she was missing a box.  Everything was checked off at delivery, but we still began a search on our end (double checking the warehouse scan out log, reaching out to the driver to see if a box was left on his truck, etc.),but then ******************** emailed in again the next day saying it was a false alarm, as she just found her missing box.

********************, never mentioned any issues with delivery, damages or additional missing items.  Those two emails after delivery have been the only ones received to date.  Hence why this review is such a surprise to us.

We are sorry to hear that that ******************** has damage, and equally sorry to hear that she cannot file a claim with her insurance company.  She can, however, file a claim with our claims department.  ******************** has nine months from the date of delivery in which to submit a claim (meaning, she has until 7/2/24 to file a claim).  ******************* can reach out to our office so we can provide her with the link to start a claim online.

For the most part pretty flawless. Sales was informative and available. There was a slight billing issue at the end but no surprise charges. *****, the ******* of our moving crew was incredible. He was there thru packup, loading, driving and unloading. He and his crew were incredibly hard working. Great attitudes, and helpful. I would recommend Jordan River without reservations.

Our initial moving plans fell through. JRMS were the first ones to return my online request and time was getting short. The office person walked me through everything, including items in each room, aprox. weight of things, and down payment. We settled on everything and all was set. Moving day arrived and the movers did not show up, no phone call. Finally I called the office number and they called their *******. He said it was due to traffic. Thanks for the 'no call'. When they finally did get there, he says, "traffic and a flat tire, but we are here!". They did get right to work, and an extra guy with them.I made arrangements with my real estate agent to have keys available for the movers to be able to get into the house when they arrived so they could start unloading. We were behind them, waiting in the ferry line. While we were in the ferry line, I got a call from the *******, you still owe $xxx and you need to pay us before we can start unloading. No problem, send me the invoice. Didn't my supervisor send it to you? Nope. I finally received a text with the invoice and some balance about $1000. more than I had been quoted. Well, not sure what that was about, but they did end up packing several things and using their boxes (I had told the office that there would be things to pack and fragile things to wrap). Maybe that was the increase. I paid the balance. When we pulled in the driveway, they were nearly unloaded with all of our things. The ******* walked over to my husband and handed him the paperwork to sign so that they could leave. He told my husband to check the box that "everything was okay and nothing damaged" then sign it. My husband read over the paperwork and signed it. The guys loaded up and were gone. Within half an hour or so we found 2 large items that were not only damaged, the were smashed! Both are special made **** Chests. One the lid was smashed in and the other the backside! These are irreplaceable items!

We are sorry to hear that our customer has damage from their move, but saddened that theyd rather go online to place a complaint than call our office to report the damage. By signing the paperwork, its stating that no damage was noticed at time of the move, but it certainly does not limit them from starting a claim for items found damaged after the crew leaves. For the price increase, they were quoted for a weight of ***** lbs but their shipment ended up coming in at ****** lbs. This was an intrastate move, which is based upon the weight of the shipment. The weight increased, therefore the cost of transportation increased. If they would like to contact our office, wed love to go over any questions they have, as well as send out a claim form for their damage. We wish them joy and happiness in their new home!
