Greenstone Homes deceived us or at best misrepresented the truth. We bought our Greenstone house in the ************** of ************ in March of 2024. Part of the process before the build is selecting options and finishes. We selected a kitchen cabinet color that was almost black from samples at their design center. When we took possession of the house, the cabinets were not the right color (several shades lighter). We immediately voiced our concern and after several conversations/meetings with both Greenstone and Huntwood (cabinet manufacture) all agreed that the color was off. Initially, Greenstone and ******** pointed the finger at each other, but nothing was resolved. We had to keep initiating communications asking about the status of this complaint and they kept putting us off saying they were working on it. I assume they were hoping we would tire and stop asking. This situation went on for two months. Finally, after asking again, we received an email saying that color was within a range tolerance, and they are considering the matter closed and if we wanted to rectify the issue, it would be at our cost.We were never informed about the possibility of a range tolerance or shown what the ranges of final product might look like. If we were, we would not have selected this option. Side note The original sample we viewed is no longer in the design center, however we have pictures to prove/provide.

Where to beginLets just say that this builder cuts corners at every possible opportunity to build poor quality homes.1)Drywall Installation - Whomever installed the drywall, pushed the screws too far into the wall breaking through the paper barrier. This results in the screws popping out of the walls leaving the paint and s**** covering material falling to the floor. The only remedy for this is to reinstall the dry wall correctly.2)Wrapped door and windows - We paid extra to have our door and window frames wrapped. The edges of the tops of the wrapped wood are cut leaving the rough grains of the wood exposed. They didnt even sand them to try to make them blend in.3)Framing - We just had our backsplash replaced and when tearing out the backsplash some of our wall framing was exposed due to the dry wall breaking apart. Instead of 2x4 wood framing, we found cheap siding pieces. Its as if the builder ran out of 2x4s and searched around the ground for whatever scrap wood they could find to throw up for framing.4)Shelving the built-in shelving in both our mud room and on either side of our TV features extremely heavy wood shelves held up by tiny little metal pegs. As can be expected, these pegs failed the weight of the shelves and randomly crash down to the shelf below crushing whatever we had sitting there. I had to build and paint wooden slats to hold all these shelves in place. Something Greenstone should have done to begin with.5)Basement layout for some asinine reason the builder installed one of the basement windows within a few inches of the furnace. When attempting to finish the basement with another builder, we found that wed have to move the entire window several feet or cut the window in half as there was not enough room between the furnace and window to finish anything. We ended up finishing the entire basement except for this one room due to Greenstones blunder.6)Baseboards These are made of a cheap material that soaks up water like a sponge. They decided these would be perfect throughout the entire home including the kitchen and all bathrooms. There are multiple areas where the baseboards have soaked up water and blown up like cancerous tumors. In addition, the baseboards were installed prior to the carpet installation, which is clear because in carpeted areas, the baseboards feature a deep scratch midway up the baseboard where the carpet installer jammed his carpet stretching tool into the baseboards.7)Roofing vents After owning our home for 6 years, we discovered water leaking through our upstairs drywall ceiling. Upon calling for emergency inspection of the issue, we found that Green ***** used extremely cheap and flimsy and improperly installed vent covers for the various roof vents. These failed overtime and water leaked for years into our attic and eventually into our upstairs living area. The company that fixed the vents let us know that Greenstone had used the cheapest vents on the market and installed them incorrectly which resulted in the leaks. The difference in price for all the vents was less than $100. Way to ***** pinch Greenstone.8)Carpet tack strips everywhere puncturing your feet when you step too close to the edges or too deep on the stairs. I attempted pounding them down with a rubber mallet, but there are still areas which I cant seem to flatten out which result in somebody bleeding on the bottom of their foot occassionally.

We have not received any customer service requests on this home since 2014. We built this home to the spec and layout desired by the original buyer. This person is a 2nd buyer and we have no information on any of the claims they are making.
