First, on the BBB this company has 0 complaints with a few different locations in Olympia, ** and is not even a BBB member. Statistically this is impossible, so they must be bribing the BBB or doing something shady to have an A+ rating. Second, i've made complaint about this company before, so i know that the BBB/****** are nonsense with their 0-complaint rating, *************** i made an attempt to close my account online through a live customer service agent, 0 agent available. I called in, they said their online side was short staffed, which was a joke. They had actually told me and deferred me to go online to close my account, yet no one was there to answer my query. Then they gave me the option of doing docusign-absolute garbage. It required uploading my state ID of which it appeared someone on the other end needed to confirm the pictures prior to closing my account -- noone answered, the app just went dead after this. BBB and Oly fed are in conspiracy with eachother to keep them at a A+ rating, and oly fed refuses to close my account. I spoke with ******, at the Tumwater branch, so he can get the credit. If this ever doesn't get swept under the rug, do not go with Olyfed. They limit your outgoing transactions, they make it impossible to transfer/link accounts to move money in or out, etc. I dont even know why people use them.

First, Olympia Federal Savings is not a subscriber to the BBB and has never paid them money for any type of service or program. I hope you'll be able to respond to his comments about a conspiracy between the BBB and OlyFed. The account was successfully closed once the customer was able to positively identify himself, which is a requirement for all customers for the safety of everyones funds and personal information.

I am rejecting this response because:

As you can see, OlyFed members have attitude. They didn't like a client leaving because of several reasons, they cannot even as a financial institution establish a method to transfer in/transfer out funds in any meaningful and timely way. Second, ********, your job stops and starts where the air conditioning/heating ends and begins. You push papers and use computer software that limits your thinking, because the bank doesn't trust you to crunch numbers. So before you go on about some conspiracy, i'm only pointing out what is observable reality in terms of your financial institution's score...

I don't care about your opinion -- this is for the public when they look up your institution.

Lastly, you guys made it difficult for me to close my account. I had to call you guys repeatedly to close the account, which says you guys either cannot keep employees, you're too cheap to staff your branch properly for adequate customer service, or you're incompetent. Feel free to take your pick. Also, throwing insults does not resolve the complaint. I guess you don't know how this works. But hey, you guys don't subscribe to BBB and aren't a member, why are you here? Yep, to defend your c*** reputation.

      Sincerely,

      **** *****

The business limits your transactions out for the first 60 days. This was not told to me when I signed up for the account. I do not wish to have an account with Oly Fed anymore.

The customer is referring to Online Banking limitations for the first 60 days after establishing the service. Those Terms and Conditions are disclosed before the service is established. The customer also acknowledges that they have read and understand the terms and conditions before entering the internet banking platform.  I have attached the disclosure, which our customer acknowledged on May 28, ******** customer also had a "live chat" with our online banking team the same day. Due to privacy and confidentiality, I will not provide those documents here without his written authorization.  I will make sure to also send those documents directly to our customer with our response to this complaint.  Your original details states that this complaint involves:Billing or Collection issues.  This is not detailed in his written statement nor anything with his account with us.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any other questions or concerns.

I am rejecting this response because:

No one sits there like a donkey and reads through the 2 font fine writing with a magnifying glass all of the legal terms and conditions.

Even so, I want my account canceled and my check mailed. It just goes to show that Oly Fed is a garbage credit union and wants to control outgoing funds and can't hack it competitively in the market place.

Close my account and mail my check or i will be in there making the atmosphere extremely uncomfortable at a very busy time.

      Sincerely,

Opening a bank account does constitute a contract.  Understanding the rules that govern an account before opening an account or adding a particular service is standard practice for any bank or any service provider. I will have a banker contact the customer to validate their identity to complete their closing request.

      Complaint: 21841695

I am rejecting this response because:

No one reads all the fine print when opening a checking account lady. Second, just because your CU is insolvent doesn't mean i'm not going to complain about not being able to move currency around as I see fit, being that it is my account. You guys wouldn't be throttling outgoing money if you were not insolvent. Lastly, if you want to throttle customers when they chose to try you guys out--that this is literally your first impression to new customers is throttling their outgoing money (lol) then you don't deserve new customers. Let that sink in. And yes, close my account. This is why i never initiated ANY of my savings or direct deposit with you. Not to mention i literally have to drive through this completely ghetto drive through and withdraw cash because you guys didnt have an ATM inside and couldn't facilitate a debit withdraw from another bank to establish the account. You guys, aside from having an actual building and a somehow approved license to bank with a real routing number and ability to create accounts, are the most irrelevant FCU in ********. I have no doubt Oly Fed will fold up during the coming banking crash.
