Respshop has been non-responsive to a ******** Respironics recall of my bi-pap medical device for sleep apnea. I registered my device for recall on 8/19/21 and have been trying ever since then to get my recalled device replaced.REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION CODE: 2021 **** **** ****, DEVICE SERIAL NUMBER: *************** The recall update website Philips.com/src-update stated ******** anticipated all devices would be replaced by the end of 2022, so I did not attempt to contact Respshop until after that date. I spoke to an agent of Respshop on the following dates: 3/1/23, 4/30/23, 8/1/23, 9/21/23, 9/30/23, 10/14/23 and 10/24/23. The last few calls were with a supervisor who said they would check to see when I would receive my replacement device and that they would call me back in a few days. No one ever called me back. This device was recalled because it was determined that sound deadening material inside the unit could deteriorate and be inhaled by the user. This material was determined to be carcinogenic in nature and could cause severe long-term health problems. I got tired of getting the run around and finally decided to contact the BBB in an attempt to resolve this issue. No monetary amount entered because the device was paid by insurance, and I did not have any out-of-pocket expense.

I was tricked by the sales ad they published, they showed the expensive mask I wanted, the F30 mask, but what they sold me was a cheap Dreamwear mask. When I told them the picture was of the better mask. I was told too bad this is what you ordered. It is a clear case of false advertising and very poor customer service. I am glad I found out about their dishonest now before I put my self in the place of relying on them. all I can say is beware they are taking advantage of older Americans.

    Respshop.com Response

    07/30/2024

I am so sorry we did not meet your expectations. We are always looking for ways to improve our customers experience so we appreciate your feedback.

I have looked into your order and it looks like we provided you a refund for the difference between the sale price and full price Amara View and we gave you store credit towards a new mask. The Newsletter that went out last week was indeed for the Amara View mask and not the F30 (they look similar)  which your picture showed you got. You placed your order online and your invoice shows you chose the Amara View, I just resent that invoice to you. You can place a new order for the F30 and keep the Amara View.  Let me know if there is something else we can help you with.

We have not sent out any newsletters selling the F30 for $49.
