On 7/14/22 ($448) I had a 6-month dental visit at the office of David ***** DDS. My teeth were cleaned and x-rays taken. During the visit it was discovered that I had some dental concerns that required attention. I signed paperwork giving permission to use higher quality materials and the estimated costs for treatment. I also received paperwork that day giving an estimate of cost for a crown and 1 filling ($2,979 which includes $214 for higher quality materials- which I agreed on). On 8/17/22 ) when I went in for a crown seat, I received paperwork for a procedure for 4 fillings ($1,883 which includes $180 for higher quality materials- which I agreed on. This work was never done by my decision. I had been in pain, discomfort and sensitivity ever since I had the crown procedure. I left a voicemail (can't remember the date) for the dentist office about the pain I was in. Someone from the office returned my call and the outcome was that it may take longer for me to heal. I called the dentist office on 9/6/22 informing them of my pain condition and I received an appointment that same day. The dentist performed a couple of tests and examined the crown and came to the conclusion that the crown was done correctly and that I just might be a slow healer. Before I left the office, I wasn't given any paperwork to sign and I wasn't made aware of any costs associated with the visit like I had been before. When I received a bill in the mail it said that I owed $439. It turned out that I was charged $289 for the 9/6/22 office visit. I heard from other people that they had never had to pay for a revisit to the dentist when a procedure the dentist had performed caused them pain or discomfort. This was the very first bill I had received and already $150 was over 6 months old. Out of pocket I paid $524.80 on 7/27/22 and $524.80 on 8/17/22. I don't think I should be charged $289 for the 9/6/22 office visit.
