The nature of the dispute is the on going poor water quality. This company just threatened to turn my water off because I refused to pay for poor rust filled water back in August and September 2022. There was a test involving another on the water system and the test came back as positive for Cloriform. This owner of the company never notified any of us on the system. I been having some issues related to the water and showed the owner the water filter how ***** it was he shook his shoulders and rolled his eyes and was indifferent to the situation. This problem has been on going for over 4 years and this year was the worst of the last 4. I have went through 2 hot water tanks and the water stinks on the cold side which should not be happening. This is the toxic stench from the bacteria and the health department should be doing something about it instead of ignoring the issue. I am hoping that the BBB will possibly assist in making others aware of this poor water system and that the **** water bill requires action please do not allow him to get away with this any further.

    BBB,

We run a public water system, with 84 customer households, that is regulated by the ** state ********** of ************* We bill customers for water that goes through the water meter to their property.

We are required to take monthly samples testing for coliforms.  Coliforms do not indicate that the water is harmful, but it can be an indication that bacteria could be present in trace amounts.  We received one coliform positive sample this year, and then immediately took the required four follow-up samples, which all turned out to be negative for coliforms or what the *** indicates is satisfactory.  If all follow-up samples are satisfactory then the water customers are not required to be notified.  The satisfactory follow-up samples were most likely caused by the sampling site itself (in this case it was a hose bib) that *** have had something on it that got into the sample bottle, or it's even possible (but not likely) the sample was accidentally contaminated in the lab during testing.  We sample at different time intervals for more than 20 other potential contaminants and have had no violations in the last 3-4 years or more.

Our responsibility for the water ends at the meter to each home.  The pipes, systems, and appliances in homes could be a source of contamination, such as in water softeners, water heaters, or even the aerators on each faucet.  Rust is not an issue in the main distribution system so I can only speculate that it has been caused by something beyond our control, after the water meter.

I have never rolled my eyes at a customer.  I *** have said that I am not responsible for filters inside a customer's home and have tried to answer all inquiries from customers as best I can.

We meet all the requirements of the State governing body that regulates us and the water in the distribution system itself looks, smells, and tastes good to me.  I hope that helps.

    Thank you,
