*Landlords and homeowners beware*I contacted Seattle Appliance Service & Repair LLC to repair a ******** washing machine. They charged me for a diagnostic fee ($130) then wrote an estimate for $390 for the replacement parts. The replacement parts included a new lock assembly the technician broke, alleging he had to in order to open the unit. He advised the parts would be sent within the next three days; however, they arrived 8 days later and were installed. The property is in Seattle and I live across the country in the eastern time zone. They sent me a note at 9pm EDT requesting payment for an invoice 40% higher than the original estimate (now more than the washer is worth). The tech advised it was due to ******* parts from ****** (not approved) and other costs being higher than anticipated. Since it was already late the east coast - I was putting a 4 yo to bed - the technician sent me a note advising they will now charge a late fee. When asked why I am being charged a late fee less than 24 hours after receipt of the invoice, the tech advised late fees are charged the next day. I requested this be removed based on the fact they gave me an invoice well after business hours and this is a poor customer experience. The company declined saying this is their policy. While not great, I did not want to make waves and agreed to pay the invoice before the application of any additional late fees. The tech advised they will charge late fees every 30 days. Since I was already being charged a late fee, I put in writing that I will pay the invoice in 29 days per their late fee application terms. Instead of agreeing to this (or more ideally removing the late fee), the company advised they will send me to collections, four days after the services were rendered.Since the vendor is now threatening me, I have since paid the invoice less the late fee. This has been a horrible experience and I would recommend anyone reconsider doing business with this vendor.
