I have a solar loan through Verity. For over a year I have been trying to make a large payment toward my loan, in excess of my monthly automatic payments, which I set up through a third party when I bought solar panels from a solar company. Not once in over a year have I been able to speak to a person at Verity. I have called periodically for a year, but they either don't answer, hang up, do not call back if I do reach someone who tells me they will cal me back, and then if I do get ahold of a person, they always ask for "payment fees" for me to make a payment. Not one of the people I have spoken with actually works at Verity (it is all call centers of some kind).I have been on the phone with Verity for the past week now, and am still not able to make a payment. I just want to pay my loan. That is all. But I cannot find them, though they continue to collect interest on my loan (which I feel is what they are trying to accomplish).Customer Answer

I had a secured credit card with Verity Credit Union. Key word (HAD). I was 2 months past due and they closed my account right after they snatched what they could out of my checking account. Now here is the problem. I went online and transferred money to pay off the card in full and realized they had transferred out money already. They then send me a letter quoted. ( We recently reached out to you regarding the past due **** account). This is true. ( and were REPEATEDLY unable to connect.) Now I received one text message from Verity or *** the Senior officer, should I say. I like how she tried to cover her a** and say repeatedly. I would love to see her actual efforts. So now that they are paid in full, she still decided to close my account. Then I call and said so my account go closed after I made my payment, not knowing they had already taken money. She said it was already closed. Maam you are a lie, it got closed the day you took my money 12/10 and I transferred money 12/11. I had to wait for them to release the funds they didnt need to get back into my checking account. And now Im just assed out of $1000.Business Response

Hello-
Here is our response to this complaint:
Dear ********:
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your concern on how your secured credit card was handled. Further to our investigation, we see that your credit card was closed and your funds securing your card was applied to pay the outstanding balance.
The reason for the card closure was due to the following, which are stated in our **** Credit Card Agreement:
1. Your payments for October 2024, November 2024 and December 2024 returned due to insufficient funds. Section 11. Default of the Agreement states that upon default, we may declare the entire balance unpaid immediately due and payable.
2. On December 10, 2024 after your third consecutive return payment, we closed your card due to non-payment and delinquency status. This also is in line with Section 11. Default of the Agreement.
On December 12, you reached out to the credit union due to the closure of the card wherein you were advised that closed cards cannot be re-opened. If you would like to re-establish a credit card relationship with us, please feel free to re-apply at your convenience.
If you have further questions, please contact me at ************.
Sincerely,

I have been a member of Verity Credit Union for many decades, ********************* manages *** ********** who persuaded me to use my regular *** account into *** ********** (CUSO ****************** L.P. also called Verity Pershing LLC), after I did it, I immediately regret because he did not clearly state that besides commission fee he deducted from my account, there is other fees. I am elderly who dislikes risk ********** that does not make me rich anyway, plus I am tired of paying maintenance fees or sale fees or hidden fees. When I started to ask ********************* to sale my *** ********** then deposit it back to regular *** account, this did not happen, there after I asked to sale twice, still did not happen. The last time I went to the ********* branch at ******************************************************* asked to sale again, a Verity employee called ********************* and talked a long time and came up with a weird employees signature after I signed a paper, I asked that employee Is that a signature?, he did not answer. But my ********** account is still there. Verity robbed my right to sale; thus, I am being forced to pay maintenance fees ever since **** when this account was opened, if no maintenance fee sends to Verity, deduction would be from my ********** account, my right to control my own money is forced to give up. I want to reserve my rights to sale entire *** ********** plus reimburse me previous maintenance fees I was being forced to pay, then deposit it to regular *** account. I want my account roll over to a different financial institute near me.Business Response

************************** has drafted a response to ********************** which is being mailed this week.
Dear **********************:
Please accept this letter as ***********************, LPs (CUSO or Firm) response to the complaint you submitted to the Better Business Bureau. In your complaint, you alleged that your financial professional, *********************, did not disclose all the fees associated with your *** account and did not sell securities as requested. You requested to be reimbursed for *********** fees and to roll over your account to a different financial institution.
The fees associated with your *** account were provided to you in the new account disclosures. You acknowledged by signing your *** Account Application paperwork on April 3, 2015 that: 1) you received a copy of the Pershing LLC Individual Retirement Custodial Account Plan and Disclosure Statement, 2) you understood the terms and conditions which apply to the Individual Retirement Account contained in the Pershing LLC Individual Retirement Custodial Account Plan and Disclosure Statement, and 3) you understood and agreed to the terms of the Customer Agreement. Copies of the Account Application and Pershing LLC Individual Retirement Custodial Account Plan and Disclosure Statement are attached for your reference. ************** stated that you had not brought to his attention your concerns about the fees associated with the account. Based on this information, the firm declines your request to reimburse the *** *********** fees.
As of the date of this letter (1/2/24),your account holds mutual funds valued at $30,376.36. We await your or your new financial professionals submission of a change of broker dealer form to transfer your account. We regret your dissatisfaction with your account and service.Customer Answer

Complaint: 20952692
I am rejecting this response because: The whole truth is when ********************* persuaded me to use traditional *** to *** ************ told ********************* that I am too old to invest, he based on my required minimum distribution is small amount, rest of money can be continued invest. But I wanted to discontinue to pay fees by discontinuing invest, I also told him, I lost 2 court cases, traditional *** is protected by law, I was not sure about switching. ********************* told me that *** ********** is same category as traditional ***, so I signed ********** application and understood commission to be deducted, no mention of any other fees. After I singed ********** application, he gave me Disclosure Statement that no signature to be found, see (Appendix 2) showed cover page and last page, the hidden fees mentioned is on page 14 and 15 (Appendix 3). After my signature, my informed decision-making was robbed from me. Furthermore, *** ********** lose money as I reluctantly paid fees. I told ********************* that I must pay money to lose money, I wanted sale, but sale did not happen, his answer was I dont know why they did not sale.. I kept bug him to sale, he got so frustrated by pouring onto other employees in front of me, but fees continued.
The pandemic followed as ********************* works at home. The last time I went to the Alderwood branch asked to sale again, a Verity employee called ********************* and talked excess of times, that employee asked me to sign a sale paper, then he signed a weird signature (Appendix 1). I asked that employee Is that a signature?, he avoided my question. Without a real signature is an entrapment for me to stuck with them for the purpose of continued fees.
My mutual funds valued at $30,376.36 to change of broker dealer is another Verity entrapment because my traditional *** is still hold by Verity. As my complaint noted that *** ********** should be together with my traditional *** where was before, then roll over to a new institution.
Verity owns *********************** and Member First, CUSOs unlawful act demonstrated above has entrapped me to stay invest for the fees, that is Veritys act. Therefore, my request for fees reimbursement is reasonable and should be reimbursed. At least, I did not ask for a civil paneity even it is most proper for Verity.
Sincerely,

In reviewing the account and loan history, we found that the member, ************************* used the automated phone payment scheduling system to schedule their loan payment. Our review shows that the member scheduled three payments through this system for their loan. The member then deleted two of the scheduled payments, which left one payment that was deducted on July 7,2023. The additional payment that was made in July was actually scheduled through the same member use system in July of 2022 for this year. It appears to be a simple error of duplicate payments being scheduled. In our response to our member, we would suggest that if they have additional questions regarding these payments of next steps to ensure that this doesn't happen again, they should call our *********** at ************ between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

I received a quote from ******************** on 8/25/2022. I signed the agreement on 8/25/2022 (This was a Thursday). Upon reviewing the details, I decided to exercise my right to cancel the agreement within three business days from the date of the transaction 8/25/2022. I emailed Solgen Solar on Sunday, 8/28/2022 and provided them with a Notice of Cancellation form that was included in the agreement paperwork. On Monday, 8/29/2022 the representative who set up my agreement ********************* sent me a text message at 9:36am stating: "Hi *******, I have received a notice of cancellation from you,is that correct?" I replied "Hi *****, Yes." He then replied: "Did something happen?" I replied:"Yes. *********************, the Solgen Solar representative called me and began to ask me clarifying questions. I told him I was not happy with the price or interest rate. I also told him I read the complaints on the Better Business Bureau website and I was concerned. He tried to talk me into moving forward with the agreement. I told him he could speak with my husband and I that evening over the phone. We spoke over the phone that evening, Monday 8/29/2022 and concluded that we wanted to move forward with the cancellation notice we emailed 8/28/2022.On Friday, October 7, 2022 I received a Credit Monitoring Alert that stated I have a new Installment Account on my credit report in the amount of $65,861.00 through Verity Credit Union. I am disgusted by the lack of professionalism. There is no reason why an Installment Account should have posted to my credit without my consent. This is illegal. I contacted Verity Credit Union and brought the situation to their attention. They stated they could not do anything unless a Notice of Cancellation was provided by SolGen Solar. I have filed disputes with all major credit bureaus and and filing a dispute with the Better Business Bureau to seek a resolution in this matter immediately.See the attachedBusiness Response

Verity Credit Union has not reported to Trans Union since 2020 (pictures below) on other credit bureaus in the remarks it says "involuntary repossession" this was not a repossession as the car was totaled. ****** (from verity) said it would be charged off and send to collections which it was. There was no repossession involved. This needs to be reported correctly to the credit bureaus, as the car was totaled and NEVER taken away.Business Response

Hello-
After researching the complaint we did find that although the member's loan should be shown as a charged-off auto loan, the comment of "Involuntary Repossession" should not be included, as the vehicle was not found and therefore was not repossessed, and in the end the insurance company wrote it off as a complete loss.
We have sent the attached letter to the member.
Thank you,
