On March 5, 2024, I purchased a trial set of hearing aids at Puget Sound Hearing. My insurance company, ****, paid Puget Sound Hearing my benefit of $2500. In April 2024, I returned the trial hearing aids within the trial period. Puget Sound Hearing indicated that they would return the $2500 to GEHA. As of October 21, 2024, the funds have not been returned to ****. I have called Puget Sound Hearing and GEHA multiple times to get this issue resolved. **** indicated that they have not received the funds. I cannot use my $2500 benefit at another hearing aid provider until this money is rightfully returned. Puget Sound Hearing has kept these funds for over 7 months. I am requesting assistance to get Puget Sound Hearing to return the $2500 to GEHA immediately. Thank you.

      To Whom It May Concern:

The customer purchased a set of ********************** aids on 3/5/2024, and her insurance was billed for those devices. On 4/9/24, she exchanged for different devices because she was not satisfied with the first set. She did not follow up at all on the new devices before walking into the office to return them on 5/20/24. On 5/20/24, we refunded her the amount she had paid out of pocket, and began the process of refunding her insurance so she could have her benefit reinstated. On 5/28/24, we received a call from the customer that her insurance said we did not submit the necessary paperwork to process her return so her benefit becomes available again. On 5/31/24, our staff called the insurance company (****) to get the claim reversed. Our staff created a voided claim and submitted it to ****. Customer called again on 7/22/24 that her insurance still did not receive our refund. Our staff called **** on 7/22/24 and the representative said the voided claim was accidentally processed as a new claim. **** sent the claim back to be voided so the benefit could be reinstated. Customer called again on 9/30/24 that her insurance still did not get the refund. We told her the insurance has repeatedly processed the claim incorrectly, that we are still attempting to get them to correct the paperwork needed to issue the refund. Several more calls have occurred in October 2024. We are continuing to work with **** to get the claim processed correctly so patient's benefit can be reinstated.
