    on March 21st, 2024, i paid Jeffrey Brouse $2,021.63 as a down payment for landscaping work. i was given a hand written invoice and estimate for the work, and was told the job would start within a week. on the day the job was supposed to start, Jeffrey claimed he got covid. One week later he claimed his car broke, and then never got back in touch. He stole my money and disappeared. He won't answer texts, e-mails or calls and will not pay me back or do the work that was agreed upon.

    We contacted Jeffrey in April, who came highly recommended, to secure a job to haul junk, remove some bushes, and lay some mulch. He was extremely responsive and helpful, I gave him a deposit for the work. Day of the job he never showed, said there was a double booking, and that he would reschedule. He stopped returning my calls. Answered when i tried from another phone, then quickly hung up again. This is a scam.

    We contracted Jeffrey Brouse to complete outdoor work at our home and purchase plants for us. After a few excuses he stopped answering my calls and texts.

    We contacted Jeffrey Brouse to do some landscaping in our yard. We paid close to a $1000 deposit and set a date for the weekend of Easter to begin. It was supposed to be a 2 day job. A few days before the work was to begin, Jeffrey texted and said he and his son had ***** and that he would begin the following weekend. He then contacted us and said he would start on Friday and come back to finish on Sunday. Friday came and he came up with another excuse of why he couldnt start. He then said he would come on Sunday. ****** came and we texted him to find out what time he was going to show up. Again, another excuse of why he might not be able to start. At that moment, I said that if he wasnt able to do the job then we would like our deposit back. With no hesitation he said he would start the refund process. We gave him one more chance to perform the job we had talked about, but there was no answer.From what it seems by the other complaints against him, this is someone who is a complete fraud. As of today, April 8th, we have yet to receive any amount of money.

    Jeffrey came recommended by friends, but clearly, something has changed dramatically in the past year. We scheduled spring yard maintenance - 2 days / 3 person crew for the end of March - the bid seemed very reasonable for the amount of work needing to be done. We also received a written bid, outlining the work to be performed, in detail. Much like others here, there were delays in starting work, all with a new excuse (Covid, truck breakdowns, licensing a new truck, childcare issues, etc). We paid Jeffrey a deposit for materials and 20% of the labor. Nearly $1000. It became abundantly clear after numerous delays that he was never coming up complete the job. When we offered him the out to refund our deposit so we could hire someone else, he quickly responded I will start the refund process. He also claimed to be unable to process a refund on Sundays because his accountant wasnt working. Its now Monday and we havent heard from him or seen a refund. Beware! This is a total scam - dont make the same mistake we did.

    Jeffrey quoted a landscaping job for my property. He provided a contract which required a 20% deposit. He then never performed the work and will not return the deposit. This is very similar to the other negative reviews. Jeffrey is scamming people.

    I hired Jeffrey Brouse to do a lawn dethatch and reseed, originally scheduled for Oct 1. Due to his getting Covid, we rescheduled for Oct 14. He didn't show or communicate. When I reached him, he offered Oct 23. Lawn reseeding is temperature dependent and Oct 23 in ******* was an unreasonable date for this work. He promised to return my deposit but hasn't yet.

    I contracted with Jeffrey Brouse dba Dirty Work on 05/23/23. He provided a lawn service & landscaping agreement contract for services to include weeding, fill dirt, gravel, and build a retaining wall. The total for the project was $2,769.23 and work dates were 06/06/23-06/08/23. I paid him $2,000 via Zelle as a deposit for the materials and remaining amount was to be paid at the date of job completion. Jeffrey Brouse contacted me prior to 06/06/23 and stated that his supplier was unable to provide the supplies and the job has to be pushed back. He was not very responsive after that, and I requested a refund of my deposit on 06/20/23. He responded on 06/23/23 that he will process my refund within 7 business days and will contact his accountant. I have not received a refund of my $2,000 deposit nor has any work been completed to date.
