    On June 22, 2023, I signed a contingent fee agreement with HKM Employment Attorneys LLP to represent me in a case against my former employer. On October 24, 2023, after a conversation with the attorney appointed to my case, it became clear that we disagreed on strategy. Soon after, I received a letter terminating representation. It stated that HKM was terminating representation effective immediately. I have repeatedly contacted ************************** and asked him to provide me with billable hours, costs, and expenses incurred on my case as well as written con?rmation that HKM will not assert a claim against any future recovery of my case, which he has repeatedly refused to do. I have contacted four other firms looking for new representation but once I disclose my prior situation with HKM they decline to represent me specifically because of the language in **** termination letter. Specifically, "Additionally, as a courtesy to you, we will not require that you pay back the costs incurred on your behalf nor will we place a lien on any recovery, at this time." It is outrageous that I am forced to deal with an unethical employment firm such as HKM while going through the most stressful situation of my life.
