      On Jan. 19, ****, Ive received an email invitation from IMDb.com to try IMDbpro free for 30 days. When I clicked on the link in the email, the only offer made on this site was for discount on a premium subscription. After complaining to Customer Support, I received an email the next day saying that since I had previously received a 30-day free trial 12 years ago, I was ineligible for the offer. However, no such ineligibility statement was made in the email offer I received. On Jan. 21, I received another email from IMDbpro with the same 30-day free trial offer. Again, the offer disappeared after I clicked on the link. Refusing to honor a 30-day free trial offer is false advertising.

      My personal information, specifically my complete birthdate, is available for everyone to see. I have requested, many times, for my birth year to be removed from the public site due to privacy, and they have said that their policy states that if they believe to have the correct information, they will not remove it. I must pay $20/month if I want to keep my personal information private. Additionally, my birthdate is incorrect, so not only can I not remove private information, but I also cannot remove incorrect information.

      I just received my monthly AMEX bill and discovered a $149.99 charge from IMDB.COM, dated 11/25/23 for a subscription that I don't recognize and don't recall signing up for. I would like an explanation of the subscription (what it's for) and when/how it was made. Unless this was something I actually requested and I simply don't recognize the name and amount, I want a refund and to have the subscription cancelled immediately. I would prefer to be contacted via the email address I provided. Thank you.

      Because amazon is cheap and greedy this happens often. I joined imdb pro as a free trial for 30 days in march of 2023 and couldn't verify my identity *********************** and stage name (**************) because of poor instructions and outsourcing to ***** with staff that don't speak English. I gave up and asked to cancel. Today ****** I wanted to check in to see if I can pay and get verified and found out my membership was NEVER canceled and I was charged any ways for a full year from 19/4/23 and my documents were not accepted. Finally dealing with ***** resulted in verification after hours of emails. I asked them to either give me credit from today till 12/25/24 or give me a refund and I will subscribe again. Of course they don't want to do their job because of poor training so amazon can save money. So here I am asking for my membership to start from 12/25/23 or refund me in full so I can pay for the year from today. This is just not right and is bordering a scam.       December 3rd 2023 - IMDB Pro charged me ***** for a monthly subscription I did not authorize on a bank card connected in my Amazon wallet (that was never given to IMDB) for a subscription service I did not renew nor order. I called Amazon to have it removed and they said they could not find the subscription renewal or the charge, even though I told Amazon the annual subscription purchased one year prior (again this was NOT renewed), was through the Amazon linked account. Amazon said they would file a report against Imdb as they cannot find the transaction nor the subscription active. Here are the many things wrong with IMDB and what they've done that is fraudulent on my account:- Renewed a subscription without my permission and through a 3rd party site without having it on the third party site, notifying the 3rd party site, and giving an option to cancel on the 3rd party site (or even displaying it so Amazon can see the transaction and the subscription). - Using a different card that was never connected to IMBD and is a different bank account and unauthorized (Do not simply state that the subscription allowed you to charge whatever card is in my Amazon wallet. There are other's people's bank cards in my Amazon wallet, and Amazon doesn't show any evidence of your transactions, activity, or has the ability to cancel 'said subscription.' - Renewing a subscription of your own volition without my consent and using a bank card without my consent. - Making it impossible to find this transaction or 'renewed subscription' on the 3rd party site. So much so even Amazon could not find it. - Once successfully canceled, IMDB Pro then displays a very threatening message telling me everything I put on my account - including any changes made while I was a subscriber and paid for the service will be deleted. So, essentially if you want to keep changes made to a bio or anything you have to keep paying for the service. This is illegal. You cant undo what I wrote.

      Dear ****

      I want to be reimbursed for this December payment. I spoke with Amazon at great length and they do NOT show that you are set to auto-renew nor did they know anything about this contract in which you can just charge any card you like. I tried to cancel on Amazon. which is where I originally paid for the one year with **** Pro and there was no way to do so. Amazon told me it was an annual subscription paid for up front so it did not automatically renew. 


      I have logged in to the **** account page and canceled from there but only AFTER I was auto charged. I also have discontinued that card and informed my bank to investigate the charges and place a stop payment on ANYTHING from **** ever again. 


      I read your BBB reviews and complaints. Almost all are due to your 'auto-renew' policy and ability to charge cards - some that don't even belong to the account holder. This seems like a serious problem and one that deserves to be investigated further. 


      I expect an immediate refund. 


      In regards to taking things off that I did while I was a paying customer - how is this legal? I uploaded photos while I was paying. So you are saying now that I'm not paying none of that can stay? 


      When it comes to my credits -- those can be added to ****. You don't have to pay or upgrade to Pro to add credits so this is not a 'bonus' or favor you are extending. It appears that everything I did while I upgraded to Pro you 'undo' after I cancel membership or decline auto-renewal. I'm not sure how this is legal. You are negating the service people paid hundreds of dollars for by undoing what they did now that they no longer pay.

      I signed up for a free trial of IMDB, tried to cancel my subscription twice during a very busy month and was under the assumption that i successfully canceled the second time. I was wrong as IMDB just charged 150$ to my brother's debit card(not the card i even signed up for the trial with) as it was somehow linked via Amazon on my IMDB.So basically IMDB made a fraudulent premium debit card charge through a third party website.

      On October 25th of 2022, I was able to use an discount code, provided by mu union, to subscribe to IMDBPro for $118.64 USD ($163.13 CDN). I authorized this fee be charged for access to their services.Fast forward to October 25th, 2023 and IMDBPro sends no notification of a price increase, but charges my card $234.12 CDN ($169.49 USD) and I discover this unauthorized price increase and charge on Sunday, October 29th, 2022. This happens despite IMDBPro stating in their own policy that they obligate themselves to provide notice of price changes, before charging accounts, as you can see in the following extract from their policy: "IMDb may change the fees and charges then in effect, or add new fees or charges, by giving you notice in advance."I received no advance notice by any email, mail or phone notification. Their site has my email, but boosts the fee and doesn't send advance notices about the increases, as their policy suggests.I tried to cancel and get a refund for the unauthorized charge as soon as I found it (on the 29th of October), but customer support refused, saying the cancelation would only be for next year and they were keeping the funds... funds I had not authorized be taken in that amount or been notified about in advance. They further claimed that since I had accessed the account in the mere 3 or 4 days since the charge (to try and figure out how to cancel and see where my money went) they were declining my refund request.I am asking that the funds be returned, as I was not correctly notified of the price increase and am not wanting the IMDBPro service at this increased rate.Also, this charge was taken on the 25th of October 2023 (Wednesday, possibly late that day) and I have records proving I made every effort to have the funds returned upon discovering the unauthorized charge on the 29th of October, 2023 (Sunday).

      Regarding the matter with IMDBPro,

      They have contacted me after my last email response to the initial denial of refund request and have reviewed the matter more closely.
      As a result, the last email I received from them stated that they will refund me the monies charged.

      I cancelled my account on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 but they apparently didn't like that because my account says that it is good until October 18, ****. That is not what I wanted. The company was trying to take money from my bank accounts and then they would try to get it from my girlfriend's account simply because her debit card was on my Amazon account. Since Oct 18, there were no further attempts to withdraw money from either on of out accounts until Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 1:25 p.m. EST. I did not authorize anyone to try to withdraw any monies from any other payment method associated with my Amazon account and my girlfriend certainly didn't authorize IMDb.com to withdraw any monies from her account. That transaction has been reported to her bank as fraud unless she gets a refund of illegally obtained monies.

      I would also like to suggest to IMDb.com to reconsider their partnership with Amazon so someone else doesn't get charged inadvertently or unknowing. Now I have to go close out the fraud charge against IMDb.com with my credit card  company because a charge was attempted on that card because my debit card was declined, and that card was also on file at Amazon. How many others have unwittingly paid for someone else just because their card was on file with that person for an entirely different reason.

      I have reported several times images posted in their system; requesting removal of those that bear my face and identity. But IMDB simply declines my requests. After speaking with representatives, they claim that once something is posted in their system, it is unremovable. This is a violation of my privacy and poses safety concerns. I never consented for these images to be posted of me. The person who posted them, I have reached out and requested that he take them down and he tried doing so but was unable to. He tried using the same method I did - reporting the image to IMDB and flagging it, but they continue to decline. I have written to IMDB several times in an attempt to protect my identity but -- they don't seem to care. Apparently, their IMDB system is superior to the safety and privacy of MY OWN IDENTITY.There are three images I'm requesting removal of. These images of me were taken for the short film 'The Legend of Drizzt Homeland Fan Film' in 2020 by director ******************. Please see these images uploaded below for correspondence. I wish to have these removed.

      The guidelines are irrelevant to my concern of safety as well as my identity being violated. Instead of heeding to the concern of SAFETY and a violation of one's right to the privacy of THEIR OWN PICTURE being posted without consent, they have sent me links that do not relate to my concern.

      I have tried ***MANY*** times in the recent past to get these pictures removed using IMDB's edit request tool(s) and never have they ever approved my requests. I've also emailed them directly and - still, they do not approve. They write me off - just as they appear to be doing right now with the copying and pasting of two irrelevant links. I do not have to write to IMDB with regard to copyright infringement when pictures of me were posted without my consent. The individual who posted them did not seek my permission - nor did he seek permission to make an IMDB profile on my name to begin with. 

      What I'm seeing is that their guidelines and policies are superior to MY SAFETY despite the violation of my identity. I will not be mailing a letter to IMDB. The request is simple. Remove the pictures OF ME with MY FACE, and MY IDENTITY that I DID NOT CONSENT to the publicization of. I have uploaded them for a second time.

      I don't want to do so, but for concerns of safety - I will be forced to pursue higher legal means if they continue to disregard my concern.

      Sent a DMCA Takedown notice in compliance of the copyright infringement guidelines listed on IMDb's website but they are not responsive. Phone line is not responsive, email to the copyright infringement department has gone without response. Seeking removal of material off IMDb.com website.

      As I've told IMDb's customer support department, your communication skills are awful as whoever did receive my DMCA Takedown Notice already removed the photos - but failed to send an update informing me of this. So, naturally, I did not know. 

      You obviously are not well-informed. I don't know who hired you but -- you are a pathetic excuse for a human being. Note that I've already made complaints regarding your audacity to close my complaint last week without even trying to offer further guidance on how to get those pictures removed. Nevermind my strive for safety to avoid a fatal threat as you deliberately closed the complaint without hesitation. Muck like now, you have sent correspondence without context. 

      Now, whether IMDb does anything about these complaints is up to them.

Whoever it be that responded to my BBB complaint may have been following policy to forward links for the removal of material. But, I did not understand as they were sent without explanation. The research on my end led to a DMCA listing of what your copyright infringement page instructs. If the IMDb responder had spent more time explaining, I would have understood.       My reviews are not being posted to the site and I would like to know why. I have never been vulgar in my reviews. I have never threatened anyone in my reviews. All I do is honestly say how I feel about a movie. Thats it. So why arent my reviews being posted?
