transaction took place 02/03/2025 I bought a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 for $7204. On the way home, day 1,the check engine light came. The truck couldn't get above 45 uphill & had trouble getting up to regular speeds on flat road. I got ahold of the dealership and dropped it off with their mechanic because it didn't feel safe to drive all the way back home. They had their mechanic look at it, and they said it was "low transmission fluid." Then, they released the truck back to me. The problems persisted. They recommended a "tune-up." I had it looked at by a mechanic & turned out that there are 4 misfiring cylinders & and a clanging sound coming from within the engine. They said that to investigate and fix the issue, they would need to take the engine apart. I informed the dealership, and they said they would give my number to the owner...I never received a call. I kept calling and getting the same answer "we will give your number to the owner." Now I am stuck with a truck that is barely functional and am paying for it.Initial Complaint

We leased a vehicle from this car lot 3 weeks ago and it is now not running, we are being told there is nothing that they can do about it and are now out of a vehicle. All that we want is a running van for our children and that's what we were promised. After it broke down on the side of the road we waited almost an entire week before we were told that we would have to spend money to have it towed and he had admitted that he sold us a vehicle that he knew had transmission problems, this should have been said from the beginning. All that needs to be done is the van fixed and running and we shouldn't have to pull any money out of pocket because this was a problem that could have been fixed at the car lot before we signed the lease.Business Response

On the 11/07 I drove my dodge Challenger from ********* to tk auto in *******. I pulled up and parked my car. ***** the sales guy came out and stated that the repair of my hood would be EASY PEASY!! So I brought the car back to ***** on 11/08 at around 10:00 am. ***** said it would only take 2 days I checked into my motel. Thinking ok I only need to stay for 2 days to fix!! When I called ***** on the 11/09 and he stated the car wasn't ready. So I had to spend more money for the hotel. So when I called ***** on the 11/10 ***** stated the car still wasn't done!! And that it would maybe be ready by 11/13. I had previously told ***** that I couldn't afford to stay in the motelthtee more days. And that I didn't have much money. So I paid the hotel for one more night. The next morning ***** brought me the oldest,creepiest nasty old ****** So I drove home to *********. After not hearing anything from ***** for four days I called ***** to tell him that I would like to have my car back by Thursday. So the next day Friday the 17th a salesman named **** drove my car home to me. As I was walking around the car I could see long scratches all the way across my front bumper. **** immediately called brain to show him the scratches on my hood! I ********************* tell **** to tell ***************** that he will order me a new bumper! The hood looked ok.After **** left I got in my car to look at my dashcam! I COUNDNT BELIEVE THAT THEY WOULD DO THAT UNLESS SOMETHING WAS ONY CAMERA THAT CAUGHT THEM DOING SOMETHING. I WENT TO *********** REPAIR SHOP TO GET A ESTIMATE ! The estimator stated to me that who ever had your car hit something that's why your bumper is so scratched up. I literally. Started crying!!I just want my car fix the correct way that's all .today I was driving about 40 miles an hour when I noticed that my hood was open about 1inch! I bought a car and was told that i was being sold the vehicle for ****** with 3k down, but then was brought out a paper with a bunch of numbers and the guys said sign this and we'll get the deal done. Then after signing everything and calculating the down my trade in and down the total was over ***** that was on the window sticker. I spoke to ***** who said that they would forgive the last 550 of the downpayment but then call him **** (1 day later) he says the owner is still going to want the 550. I told him i would be making a complaint and he said " good you will be 1 out of 1400 this year" these people dont care about running a straight forward business or about the customers. I purchased a Truck 2011 Ram **** from Tk Auto Sales on August 20 2022 The mileage on the car was stated as ****** I also purchased a Service Contract with AUL thru TK Auto with the same mileage stated on the documents In the mean time the car is having issues won't start and won't go into 4 wheel drive. So I took the truck to ****** gave the information from AUL to get the car fixed. ****** called and said the Aul will not cover the cost to fix it.I called Aul and they said that they would not fix the car because of a mileage discrepancy.189983 I called TK Auto Sales and talked to **** he said he would take car of it. this was on Monday. Customer made us aware of error on 1/16/2023. Unfortunatlely and had no way of contacting the parties needed to correct.
1/17/2023 Tuesday the necessary calls were made. Discovered it was a clerical mistake that was made at the dealer auction where the mvehicle was purchased.
We contacted all the warranty ** and was made them.

All instructed us to the steps to take to correct the error with them. We contacted ****** to inform her what we did.
We corrected the odometer statement and delivered the document to her for signature same day.
Our AUL representative picked up the corrected ODO reading 1/19/2023.

This is absolutely bogus complanint.
Customer bought the vehicle 12/17/2021, Never complained abouth the vehicle.
He was behind on payments . Last payment we got was 11/25/2022. He was paying only $200 a month when payment was $327.00
Then never got a payment or any complaint after 11/25/2022. He was $1730.18 behind on his payments.
After many phone calls he gave up the vehicle . We promised not to go after him for the balance of $3996.00 he owed to us.
He gave us a release of interest and left happily.
I have no idea what he is talking about after driving the vehicle for over a year.

2 days after I bought my Acura MDX the check emission light came on. I took it into the shop and it turns out it was my catalytic converter and all the codes had been cleared to obviously fool whoever purchased this vehicle. I also asked them to check the oil when I took it in and it was in need of an oil change, however the dash indicated I had 100% oil life, which confirms the clearing of the codes to make everything look good. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM TK AUTO. They are shady and have horrible business practices.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:My mechanic stated that all of the codes had been deleted meaning you HAD deleted all codes for this vehicle... this vehicle needed an oil change despite the car stating it had 100% oil life, which tells me you are not telling the truth. Also, a catalytic converter doesn't just "go bad" the day after someone purchases a vehicle which indicates there had to have been something done to make it seem like there was no issue with the vehicle ie: erasing the codes to make the check engine light disappear and buy a few days.
When I tried calling you, granted I was upset because I had just purchased this vehicle and was already having issues with it a day later, you hung up on me.
As for the $1500 discount. I had negotiated a previous price and when you brought the documents for me to sign you conveniently put on the bottom of the "sold as is no warranty sheet" in personal handwriting, "in lieu of a $1500 discount customer waives any type of warranty." I questioned it and your salesperson came up with an excuse of none of these cars have warranties. However, the sheet I was signing (printed) already stated that fact and it was also written in the corner by hand which didn't really make sense as I figured a 2007 vehicle would not come warrantied. Not sure what you were trying to accomplish with that other than saving yourself "in case" something like this happened. When I asked if I could take it to get it checked out by a professional mechanic your salesperson declined.
I already had the oil changed and I will not accept your offer. I am now looking at a $3500 mechanic bill for replacing BOTH catalytic converters and will be filing a small claims lawsuit against you unless you make this right. We negotiated a fair price on a vehicle, but at what cost? Now I have to put another $3500 into it as a single mom struggling to make ends meet.

Purchased a vehicle on 11/16/2022 I traded a 2015 dodge dart. I bought it used with no warranty. I had the vehicle only 2 ********* had my grandson and we had a ******************************* to ******* **. There was a snow storm in **** but the vehicle had all wheel drive so I wasn't worried. When I got to ******'s pass I felt a pull in the steering I got out to look n didn't see anything abnormal. I continued slowly over the pass n to *********** heard a clunk n the abs brake light came on and the awd control light came on. I pulled over on I-5 and read in the ****** what they meant. They needed serviced. I dropped off my grandson n drove 5 miles to ******* n parked there n slept in the vehicle. I called a mechanic *********** came n looked at it. He thought it may be the wheel bearing. We drove up to where he could take off the ****** **** asked when did you buy this n I said 2 weeks ago. He said this is not even safe. This whole front end needs rebuilt. It is not even legal to sell this vehicle it is dangerous. So I didn't know what to do being I bought it as is. So I been sleeping in the truck on the side of the road. I finally decided to call tk auto n see if they could help me. The man I spoke to said they have a 30 day warranty on their vehicles n gave me a number to call. He said they have towing n in the ******* area n will fix it. So I called the *********** name was not in there. So I called tk auto back n he then said oh well I guess yours wasn't under the 30 day warranty so we can't help you. So they sold me an unsafe vehicle. I am 64 years old, n have my grandson with me n the front end of the vehicle needs rebuilt. It is against the law for a car lot to sell a dangerous vehicle. I just want it repaired properly. And they did not care that I am 64 sleeping on the side of the road. That is the cruelest n rude treatment I've ever experienced.Business Response

Regarding my complaint against tk auto, I am used to people standing behind their work n treating their customers with the utmost respect, being that's who keeps them afloat I see times have changed. I am fixing my vehicle, I don't need anything from tk auto. Just a quick note, when I bought the dodge dart(the vehicle I traded in) I wanted an suv like I have now. When I got to the car lot, they sold it. I said no I wanted that. The dealer said, that suv needed a lot of work n you need reliable transportation going over the pass as much as you drive over there. So I bought thr dart. Tk auto gave me $3100.on trade. On Sept 3, 2021, I bought a used car from TK Auto. They encouraged me to purchase an extended warranty for $2,395. The warranty had a 6 week money back guarantee; I could cancel the warranty within 6 weeks and get a full refund. I requested the warranty refund paperwork and gave it to them within a week. When the refund check didn't come in a few weeks, I called TK Auto. They assured me that it should come within 6 weeks. I called back after the 6th week. They assured me it would definitely be in after 10 weeks. After ten weeks, when it didn't come in I called back and they didn't know what happened to my check. I repeatedly called them over several months. Finally, on February 23, 2022, I received a check for $1532 for my refund - NOT the $2395 which I am owed. I have been calling them repeatedly since then and they have begun to dodge my calls. The length of the calls have been shorter than 30 seconds with **** - the man from TK Auto that I have been working with - repeatedly telling me to call back tomorrow. He has been repeatedly changing his story; at first, to resolve the situation he needs to call somebody, but later he is texting this person because the person is "out of town."Business Response

To TK Auto Sales:
It is long past due that this was resolved. No thanks from my part are in order. More appropriately, you should thank me for my ***** and patience. Please reach out to **** and ensure that he is properly retrained on customer-service skills or, if that is not possible, that he is terminated. He is a liability to your company and does not appear to be interested in assisting customers. At no point in this process did I feel like your company or **** cared for me and I strongly suspect that **** lied to me several times; he certainly lied to me unintentionally when he would make promises that he failed to keep. And he certainly lied to me intentionally when he told me he was calling his warranty representative to fix this issue shortly before I filed this complaint.
I purchased my vehicle from you thinking that the stereotypes about used car dealerships were over exaggerated, but you have done a fabulous job at proving that they are 100% accurate. You have shown me that your company excels in employing cheats, thieves, and conmen. Congratulations on proving me wrong.
