I purchased a car as-is from this business on 08-03-24 for a total of $4805.60. It needed to be jump-started a couple of times within a week so I set up an appointment at the mechanic to have it addressed. I was not expecting to have to pay more for mechanical issues than I paid for the car and I didnt even have the license plates yet. I was quoted $3,191.11 to make the car safe to drive with an additional $3,393.58 in additional repairs. There is an implied warranty of merchantability attached to an as-is sale for used cars that includes my right to expect that the car would be 1) Fit for ordinary driving purposes for a reasonable time, 2) Reasonably safe and without substantial defects/problems, and 3) The average quality of similar cars sold under similar conditions by other sellers in the same price range. I am aware that I signed a waiver in the sales contract but it does not waive my right to an implied warranty. I attempted to call and email the owner to see if the business would want to complete the work on the car themselves or help pay for the repairs to meet the terms of implied warranty in the State of **********. I was never contacted by the business so I authorized the mechanic to complete the work to make the car safe to drive. When the plates came in, I was supposed to pick them up but they sent them to me in the mail so they didn't have to talk to me. The owner never attempted to contact me and I perceive them as a dishonest business who doesn't care about their customer's safety. I am attaching a letter from the mechanic and both estimates for the work on the car.Initial Complaint

I purchased a vehicle from Apex Motors Parkland, a 2011 GMC Acadia for a total of $6741 after all the taxes and fees added on. They did in house financing on this vehicle for me and I still owe a total of $1500. So the total I paid on the vehicle that day, 02/27/2024, was $5241. Included in that cost was sales tax of $572, license plate purchase of $300, and card fee of $169. To pay off the vehicle, it was agreed upon that I would make a payment of $500 on 3/27/2024, 4/27/2024, and 5/27/2024. Upon purchasing the vehicle, I came to the realization that there were in fact a number of things wrong with the vehicle that they had failed to mention when discussing the vehicle. So I ended up having to put money into the vehicle they said had no problems. When it came time to make the payment, I couldnt make it because the day before, I spent quite a bit of money on new tires because they sold me the car with tires that had no tread. I explained this to them when they called me being rude and disrespectful. They were trying to get me to pay the full $1500 saying that I signed paperwork that said that when I in fact did not. I then went and made an honest detailed review on their page and after seeing it, they asked me to take it down and that they would work with me once the review was down. We verbally came to another agreement of payment which was to pay $500 on 04/19/2024, 05/03/2024, and 05/17/2024. During this phone call, I was also informed that at time of sell, the dealer by the name **** forgot to give me the title paperwork that makes me the owner of the vehicle and that I needed to come in to sign it. At this point, I was no longer in **************** but in another state tending to important family matters. I later got a text from **** saying I needed to come in to get the license plate and discuss it even though my license plate was to already be sent to me through the mail which I still havent received. There is a lot more but I have messages you can read.Business Response

Dear *********************
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. We understand how important it is for you to resolve these issues, and we appreciate the opportunity to address them.
Regarding the odometer disclosure form, we are unable to send it to you electronically because DMV regulations require that it be signed in pen. To complete the transfer of ownership and issue your license plate, we ask that you please come in person to sign the form at your earliest convenience.
As for your outstanding balance, we offered a goodwill reduction of $400 off your balance. We also need to receive your revised payment plan schedule as agreed upon so that we can finalize your account and provide you with the necessary documentation.
All used vehicles are sold as-is, and while we do our best to provide accurate information about the vehicle's condition, unforeseen issues can arise. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please let us know a suitable time for you to visit our dealership to complete the necessary paperwork. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

I bought a vehicle from Apex Motors Parkland in February 2024. I was told that the vehicle did not have any problems whatsoever. I made sure i asked and there is a witness that can vouch on my behalf. After purchasing the vehicle, I finally got it checked out by a mechanic, not expensive there to be any major issues. Upon getting it checked, the mechanic informed me that the vehicle has 51 faults in all modules. The timing chain on bank 1 (cylinder 1,3,5) either slipped or stretched causing damage. It will be $3000 to fix. The car also sold without airbags which is illegal in **********, its illegal in every state. They have constantly said I am lying about the interaction/conversation I had with their employee ****. Now, yes they have taken $400 off the original total of the vehicle but they sold the vehicle ABOVE market value. They sold the vehicle ILLEGALLY because it had no airbags putting my pregnant self in danger at the time of purchase as well as my children who are all under the age of 5! They are disgusting human beings for selling this vehicle!!! Now Im here with no vehicle and I just had a baby who needs to get to doctors appointments! I havent been able to go to my postpartum checkup appointment !!! My son who just started Kindergarten hasnt been able to attend all because they wanted to illegally sell this vehicle that put myself and my family in danger!!! At this point, I am asking for my money back because they sold this car illegally! If they refuse to give me my money back, I will continue to take actions!! I will do whatever is necessary to get them to pay for illegally selling me this vehicle that they knew was faulty and shouldnt be drive!! If you read their dealership reviews, the bad ones outweigh the good ones. They have harassed me and harassed my father making false claims! If they are willing to give me my money back or most of my money back, I will let this go otherwise I will continue my pursuit because it is illegal what they did.Customer Answer
