I dropped my chainsaw off with very clear instructions for repairs. I was told they tested the part I requested but now believed the crank seal should be replaced. I told them to proceed. Three months later I called to get the details on the repair. I was told they did not have tool needed to remove my clutch. I asked them if they were a certified shop for my saw. They said yea and they would get the tool. Months later the shop told me the seal was not the issue and the crank shaft needed to be replaced. They quoted a price that I could replace the saw for cheaper. I told them not to repair anything but I would come pick up my saw. When the bill was prepared the shop manager told my spouse it would cost ****** to pick up the saw. I asked if I was paying for parts?, the tool?, or what the bill consisted of? I made contact with the shop manager he told me he had taken one hour of labor off of the bill costing ****** to pick up my non running chain saw. I was not told I would be charged for diagnosing the problem. I want my saw to be returned I. The same condition I left it. If their technician is going to charge 165 an hour for diagnosing equipment I should have been told when I dropped the saw off. Im not asking for free parts I just want my saw returned to me. They can cover the diagnostic cost as their technician obviously does not explain to customers what the charges will consist of if they do not want an unqualified person working on their equipment.
