We took our 6.0 lb. 13 year old chihuahua to Banfield for her wellness plan check up and shots on May 30th 2024 at the **************************. Her vet was ******************. After her checkup the vet said she looks good and health, had a slight heart murmur but overall good health. She took her back for her shots a total of 5 shots, 2 shots that were not needed. leptospirosis and canine Lyme. She was a house dog and private place to go bathroom in our secured fenced in yard. she was never boarded, no need for Bordetella. we took her home and she started convulsing. Call the vet back said to rush her back. They took her in the back and said they didn't know the problem but we could do ****** worth of tests, all the while I'm holding her you could see she was about to explode. Then the tech said what do you want to do? She was fine an hour ago now she was so bad I knew her heart and body had been way over vaccinated. Never saw ****************** again, she wouldn't come out to talk to use. They were in the back room trying to get their story together and figuring how to cover their a** In reality their incompetence killed our dog. We took her home hoping it would get better. Our little peanut died in my wife's arms just as we got home. We rushed her in did CPR for 5 minutes. She was gone. This place is nothing more than money making machine, everything is an upsell. No matter what you bring your animal in for and leave them you WILL get a call trying to upsell something That is why all the good vets have left Banfield. They have killed our baby girl, She was the light of our life, she slept with us and loved to cuddle. We will never forget her, ever. Thanks Banfield, due to your incompetence and lack of honesty and inability to understand what they have done they are very dangerous to be around animals. They know what they did and just want me to go away. I never forget what you have done. Please, If you have a pet you love stay away from Banfield, Find a real Vet.

This company is horrible. The vet service is okay but the way they scam you into the pet plans is shady. Then when you remove yourself from automatic payments and REMOVE YOUR PAYMENT INFORMATION, they still make UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES ON YOUR CREDIT CARD. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING "BUSINESS".

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have never seen such a disorganized vet clinic. We took our dog in on Monday for a regular check up. We asked to have lumps on his back checked for cancer. They also checked his paws which were red, we thought it was due to allergies. They prescribed an antibiotic Incase the paws are infected. All went down hill from there. He now has two large bumps on his paws, its super swollen, bleeding and draining fluid. To walk is painful. Ive been trying to get in touch with the doctor to see what in the world they did to his paws, but she is too busy and the earliest they can see him is in 2 days or we have to go to a very expensive ER.I finally just walked in yesterday to get him pain medication and a cone since he keeps licking his paws. The doctor was still too busy to even come out and take a quick look. While there I asked the girl at the counter about the results from checking the lumps on his back and she said they had only tested his paws for cancer, not the back. Im thinking, what? We specially said to check the back and not the paws. I still have no idea what they did to his paws. The visit summary sheet mentions nothing at all about his paws and the medication referenced is not even the antibiotic prescribed. To even try taking him somewhere else we still need to know what the heck they did to his paws and I cant get that simple answer from the doctor. Instead they have young assistants reading us doctor notes which they dont really understand. Its beyond frustrating while my dog continues to be in pain.I think their main issue is not having enough doctors as the staff are all really nice and you can tell they love animals. They need to staff doctors accordingly or they will continue to put the health of our pets at risk.

I had a dog and cat that I took to a Banfield vet, so I put them both on wellness plans. When I moved to a different state with no Banfield vets, I called to cancel the plan. I thought it was handled and so much was going on in my life that I didn't keep tabs on it. Then last night, I was paying my credit card bill and discovered that Banfield was still charging me. I immediately called the number listed with the bank account transaction. **********************'s automated menu is cumbersome and has no back function so if you select the wrong option, you must hang up and call back, but I got through to the cancellation function and entered my phone number. Lo and behold, Banfield could access my credit card information to charge me for a plan I thought I had cancelled, but apparently, the automated system couldn't figure out how to look up my number or their database had lost it making it impossible to cancel the plan through the automated system. I noticed that when I called the cancellation telephone number, the wait time was at least 20 minutes, but when I called the enrollment telephone number, someone answered much more quickly, although I would be placed on hold once they learned why I was calling. One call had me on hold for more than 20 minutes and two had me on hold for more than 25 minutes, and all three of them disconnected without anyone getting my plans cancelled. On my second call to the enrollment number, I finally got transferred to someone who promised that my plans are finally cancelled, that there will be no auto-enrollment, and that there will be no more charges from Banfield. During the course of our conversation, I made no personal attacks and used no profanity, but because I raised my voice a bit, he accused me of "agent abuse". Seems awfully thin-skinned for someone in customer service dealing with a customer who feels robbed of more than $1,200.00.

Going several times to get a prescription refill and they just dont care about the dogs. Just care about charging you for anything. Every time We go a different doctor or travel vet sees us. And they claim that they cant see prior records. So each doctor wants to do their own analysis. After 30 days they dont provide refills and make you go. Then you go and wow surprise no records. So start all over again. They just work on lab commissions I guess. This is for the ********** location ******************************************************. Have been doing this for the last 6 months. They just want a monthly follow up charge. I see one doctor and tells me to one thing. Next time I see another doctor and they say something different.

They upgraded and renewed my Wellness Plan without my consent. I tried to contact the Banfield location I take my pet to, and they told me to contact corporate. Both parties told me I'd have to contact the other. No one could ever help.It took me no less than 5 hours of back-and-forth to ultimately cancel the plan. They ultimately canceled the plan but kept $110 of my money for the premium I paid for the 2 month's after they renewed and upgraded my plan without my consent.I should have walked away several years ago when Banfield broke my parent's dog's jaw during a dental cleaning. The poor animal had his jaw wired shut for 8 weeks. I will NEVER do business with this company again and will encourage anyone who loves their pets to stay away. Banfield is all about the money and consistently attempts to upsell to pet parents by feeding on their vulnerability and love for their pets.

My dogs have been enrolled into their wellness plans for years. I had to put my dog down in Nov of 2023. I called in Dec to try and cancel. All their insurance is, is a delayed billing. They will charge you resources the clinics have used on your pet once its time for cancellation. I was told I had a certain amount still remaining until it would be canceled completely. I agreed and continued to pay. Up until April/May I knew I was towards the end of my last payment. My last payment should have been $17.06. And they charged me the whole monthly amount of $60. Its not much but its the principal and their way of business practice. Both chat and over the phone I was told it was practically my fault for not calling back to REMIND them not to charge the full amount. If they can set an automatic monthly payment, why could that not have been done when it came to cancelling, because thats how they steal your money! Be aware!!!

I called our dog's regular vet at the ************* They were booked and said to take him to the *************** His records say he has anxiety from people including the vets office, needs to be seen with myself in the room, and he may need to be muzzled. A vet tech puts the rope harness on and proceeded to drag him to the back. I told her that he has anxiety, doesnt trust/like people because he was abused as a puppy. I was dismissed. She came back with a muzzle and asked me to do it for her. I got the muzzle on, he was already agitated/freaking out. The vet tech was about to take him back again when I asked her why the vet doesnt come in here where I can be with him. Again, she drug him back with the rope and muzzle, and ignored me. Seconds later, she comes back with him and the vet, a woman named ****************. She was not friendly, already agitated much like a dog ready for a fight and rude. She didn't introduce herself. She came into the room ready to fight giving off aggression. She stated she wasnt going to see him because he needed to be muzzled. I told her that his notes and I both stated he needed to be muzzled in the room with me. She said, no such thing, the notes said muzzle in the back. Then she stated he needed to be drugged. He has previously been given an anxiety medication with directions that explicitly state one pill 12 hours prior and a second 2 hour before. Because the appt was short notice and not a planned visit I was unable to give him the meds. I explained that and mid-sentence she cut me off and said, Dont argue with me! As she was pulling it up on her computer and read over me, two hours prior. Again, I rebutted, BUT the label specifically states 2 pills and his vet said. She said, well he already bit me. She literally huffed at me and stated she would not see him again until I drugged him up and brought him back tomorrow. I told her no, that I wont be bringing him back there at all.

I waited several weeks to get an appointment to actually see the vet and be with my pet during exam. She has high anxiety which can lead to seizures so It is in her best interest to not do the drop off appointments. At check in no one was ******* the counter and I waited over 15 minutes for check in. Then after waiting another 30 minutes on a bench near the front check in counter, I asked how much longer until we get to see the doctor, and we were led to a private room. After we continued to wait another 20 minutes being totally left alone and ignored I requested to know how much longer. After asking several times finally I was told it would be AT LEAST another 30 minutes. After waiting a total of 1 hour 40 minutes a vet tech did finally come in the room and when I asked why I was left to wait so long without any explanation, instead of being compassionate and apologizing she wanted to argue that I hadnt been waiting that long (she didnt know that I waited so long to check in). She made excuses for the wait and was rude. After this nightmare experience, I will not be taking my precious fur baby back to a place where people act so unprofessionally. I do want to say that the doctor she was to see has always been wonderful. I only wish she would have popped her head in to check on us and apologize. However, I refuse to continue with this vet due to her support staffs incompetence. They should have informed us early on that there would be an unusually long wait and given us an opportunity to reschedule. I dont recommend Banfield on E ****************** until they train their staff on customer service best practices. With that being said, if people who you intrust to your most precious pet to are rude and uncaring toward another human being, how are they treating your beloved pet? Buyer beware!

My letter to CEO *****************.Dear ************, With great sadness we lost our beloved **** (10-year-old lab mix) on Sunday, June 9th to lymphoma. Our sweet **** was part of our family, and we miss her terribly. Yesterday I called Chewys to cancel her plan for her food, they were beyond kind and today we received flowers for our loss. I called Farmers Dog to cancel her plan for her food and they were kind as well. Yesterday I called our local Banfield to cancel her upcoming vaccination appointments and was provided the number to call to cancel our wellness plan. I opted to leave my number for a call back and never received a call. Today I called back again and was informed that I would need to pay the last month of my contract which will be on June 23rd, but my yearly contract renews on July 4th and then it will be not renew but if were charged to call back to have it corrected. I was applauded that we lost our sweet dog to cancer and yet we will still receive a payment on our credit card for a service we are no longer using. It is unprofessional and just cruel to put a pets owner through any more grief that they are already experiencing. The agent I spoke to stated that the insurance will not pay Banfield for the 11 months of my contract if I do not finish the payments for the year. Im astounded of the lack of compassion, I will be calling my credit card to dispute the payment on June 23rd, will spread the word of how we are being treated and never use Banfield again if this is not corrected. While we do not expect flowers as Chewys did so kindly for us, the lack of customer service of basic common-sense compassion is beyond upsetting. I am writing to you in hopes to have this corrected and for future pet owners not to experience what we have today. My contact information if below for a reply that I hope to receive.
