I saw an ad in ******* ********** for stereo install I texted *********************** on 1/22/24 to get an estimate and he quoted me $125.00 he stated factory radio install should only take 1 hour on his text. On 2/20/24 I texted ***** to set an appoint and he again texted $125.00 to do the install. He set up an appointment for 9am Wednesday 2/21/24. He arrived on time and started to work on my truck. After 10 am I checked on his progress it seemed like he was struggling he was having a hard time figuring out how to remove the old radio. He was going back and forth between my truck and his vehicle to call somebody (his friend). At around 11:49 he left to go get a cable that he said had to have, he came back around 2:27pm and texted me the Zelle payment information and emailed me the invoice. I was very surprised when I saw his original invoice of $1467.44 I asked him to explain how we got from $125.00 to the invoice amount. He stated that $125.00 x 6 hours and $250.00 for travel and Service uploading $325.00. He never informed me before and or during the work that there was that was going to be additional charges. When I complained that his original estimate $125.00 and showed him his text he offered to reduce it by $147.50 to new total of $1319.94.So, I told him okay finish up the job and I will transfer the payment via Zelle upon completion, but he kept insisting that I do the transfer first before he will continue with the job. I told him I told I did not feel comfortable paying before the job is completed this went on back and forth, he gave his word man to man that he will complete the work, so I gave in and went inside the house to do the transfer in my computer. I went back out in the garage to let him know and check work progress he was already in his vehicle all his tools loaded and getting ready to leave. He told me he didn't like way I was holding the payment and started his vehicle and left and texted me later. He said he will come back the next the day to finish the job if I paid another 2 hours labor. I told him a scammer and I was going to report him.

***** reached out asking me to help him regarding his vehicle.  I shown me a picture of a monitor that he said was a factory screen to his radio and that he is requesting for me to swap it out.  Considering the information he told me prior to arriving at his location i gave him an idea of what our rate of labor are and I also gave him an estimated it usually takes to do that task.  ***** was aware prior to my arrival that we charge $125 an hour.  Once I arrived I went over the cost and his product and we both agreed during that time that this was far different then what he mentioned over the phone via text.  I reviewed my labor rates and travel cost. Also letting him know that any additional task or parts are all sold separately.
he agreed and I started work.  My initial start time on the vehicle was approximately 9:30. After disassembling the vehicle we found out the the vehicle was missing certain features to incorporate his aftermarket **** upgrade that he was wanting me to adapte. I told him that I could go get the part but its a drive clear across town.  He was ok with me going to get that part.  I can back and started working on his vehicle.  He then asked where ** was at with the labor cost and parts and so I built up his invoice and sent it to him via email that he offered during that time.  He came out of his house after reviewing it and only asked about the travel cost . His concern was that there were two separate charges for the travel fee ($125 ea).  I said that he was only expecting one charge and so reduced and revised the invoice.  The invoice was built with the labor estimated for up to that time frame (3:0pm). I told him that without a Guarantee that he could be looking at two more hours to Reassemble the vehicle with his new aftermarket equipment installed. He then said that would only want to pay until 3:00.  He then said that he will go send the money and left.  I proceeded in Organizing the rest of his parts and equipment, assuming that he was going to finish reassembling the vehicle. Payment was submitted at Approximately 3:15pm He came downstairs out of his house. I handed him The keys to his truck and he asked me to finish the job and go sir. I can reschedule you digital time. Next day. He left his house. I left his location. He then Call me via cell phone and was shouting. Ive been hung up. I text him that he was aware of the pricing and that he cannot negotiate any further.  After that, he then got very vulgar defensive. I told him to relax, and we will talk the next day which is today.

I have all of the text dialogue and payment information if needed, I can submit it
