This home was purchased new in 2020. In the last 12 months my wife and I noticed that the carpet in every room(including the stairs) has stretched and is now buckling. *** already discussed this issue with **** and because the home I outside of their warranty period I would have to pay for the repairs myself. Honestly, 1 or 2 rooms I could buy as incidental, possibly caused by moving furniture. What has made me decide to file a complaint is that one of the rooms that HAD NOT been used since we moved is buckling. Additionally, the stairs are doing the same things.Im not a flooring expert but to me this seems a little dumb. *** lived my entire life in homes with carpet and NEVER seen such a wide-spread issue as this. We are not seeking financial compensation or any time of exorbitant damage claims, we would just like to see the problem fixed and dont believe that this should be something WE should need to pay for. ************** isnt even the best company to pursue this issue with but as we dont know the contractor name for the flooring then **** is chosen as default. Again, we would just like to see the issue get fixed.Initial Complaint

I bought my house in the fall of 2021. I had an outside inspection and they noted concerns about install issues with our roof and that the **** system was too small for our house. **** claims there were no issues and would not address these concerns. Fast forward 2.5 years. Our house flooded due to the faulty roof and I hired an outside **** company to run reports on our AC unit. Turns out they provided false information to us to they wouldn't have to install the correct items for our house. For the roof, I tried to call the warranty department since all the houses have a 10 year structural defect warranty, but **** would not honor it. I am now out thousands of dollars I wouldn't otherwise be if **** had built our house correctly. They are aware of what they are doing as people in other **** developments are suing for the same issues.Initial Complaint

They never resolved my landscaping issue with surfacing lumber ***** nails broken steps. Huge crevices in an all *********. Have not had my calls returned in 4 months. No one has contacted me about my one year inspection which will be this month. Terrible workmanship that was not well supervised. They took our money and half a**ed the work. No one answers my call. I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Holt Homes in relation to a series of egregious breaches of professional conduct and contract terms that have deeply distressed my family and myself. The instances in question involve their warranty technician, their warranty practices, and the disclosure of their business operations. The most distressing incident occurred when a warranty technician from Holt Homes, without any prior notification or consent, brought a gun into my hime during a service call. The presence of a firearm in our family home was not only disturbing but also highly inappropriate and unprofessional.Holt Homes has openly stated that they do not, build the homes, but rather engage subcontractors for each step.Holt Homes has admitted that warranty technicians are not permitted to enter homes that are vacant. This policy, which we were not made aware of at the time of purchase, contradicts their attempted enforcement of conditions requiring us to vacate our home during warranty service. The combination of these two policies effectively voids our warranty in its entirety. The company has escalated tensions by unprofessionally labeling my wife and I as "hostile." This has added emotional stress to an already difficult situation and feels like an attempt to evade their responsibilities by unjustifiably shifting blame onto us.The utmost concern is that their warranty technician's actions and company's practices have posed a risk to my family's safety, specifically my pregnant wife and our toddler who was sleeping upstairs at the time of the service call.We respectfully request the Better Business Bureau to investigate these matters thoroughly and ensure that Holt Homes is held accountable for their unprofessional behavior and lack of customer care. Our family deserves an apology and the assurance that such incidents will not recur.Initial Complaint

We purchased our first home through ****.Less than a year from the time the home was built, an issue arises. A crawl space vent that is on the exterior of the home has a 4-5 inch hole left open around a condensation pipe. The vent was behind the ac unit and was very hard to see, but sure enough it was there. I spoke to neighbors on our street and they said they had the same problem and they even noticed rats/mice getting in. We called a pest control company who came out and told us we did have rodent activity in our crawl space and the only access point was the vent hole left open by ****. They notified us that there were chewed electrical cords, soiled insulation and vapor barrier. A **** warranty tech inspected the home. He advised that it was against code for that hole to be left open and was an oversight by ****. He came back 2 days later, sealed the hole and repaired other damage. I showed him the photos from the pest controls inspection and he was able to see the soiled insulation, and the chewed cords. He said no problem, I will send an order out to get an electrician down here and we will be able to replace all soiled insulation and vapor barrier. He told us that the negligence was on **** to remedy the access point and the damage caused as a result of the home not being sealed properly. He told us we would be taken care of and this damage was through no fault of our own. We were extremely relieved having thought the worst that **** would be taking care of us and would address We just got an email from customer care at **** saying they WILL NOT be covering anything relating to our complaint as the warranty does not cover rodent damage. **** has already accepted liability for the damage caused by their negligence and they are now backing out of the repair. I need this addressed immediately or I will pursue legal action.
