Miracle Man Movers *********************************** Suite A ******************* Date of moves: July 28, 2023 & August 17, 2023 Job # **** part 1 & part 2 They moved us from a rental house into their storage while we waited for our new house to be ready. We scheduled and made a down payment for 4 movers and 2 trucks. Only 3 movers and 1 truck showed up. A second trip was needed for the remainder of our items. This resulted in a very long delay and 1 of the movers had to leave before they finished.We were promised that all of our belongings would be stored together in a single unit and not commingled with other storage. As part of the storage cost, we rented packing blankets. We had made it very clear this was the only acceptable storage arrangement.The move into our new house was scheduled for August 18th with 4 movers and 2 trucks. Two days before the move they called to say if we would have to move the date up to August 17th in order to get the 4 movers and 2 trucks. It was a difficultly on our end however we agreed.They arrived with only 1 truck and 3 movers. The truck was half empty and our belongings were not in the packing blankets and not properly packed in the truck. Many items were damaged, many had to be discarded. The lead mover said this was all that was in the storage unit. After many phone calls it was determined that the remainder of the items were in their office area. They had to make another trip to bring them over. Many items were damaged and numerous items missing. This turned into a nightmare while over the next several weeks while they searched for our items and slowly returned them to us.Our insurance claim was both emailed and mailed to them on November 11th. According to their contract, they had 3 months to settle our claim. It has now been 5 months and the claim has not been settled. We've been told numerous times we would receive a proposed settlement the 'next day' but it never shows up and our calls are not returned.Initial Complaint

On October 5, 2023, I hired Miracle Man Movers, LLC to transport a vintage **** jukebox from ******** to my home in Salem. As shown on the attached credit statement (page 3) I paid $200 for total replacement value insurance (and $235 for the delivery, as seen on page 4).On October 10, 2023, they delivered the jukebox to me in a shattered and unusable state: after the driver had put the jukebox into the van they had failed to secure it in any way, so that during the drive it fell over and smashed the glass dome and damaged the record playing mechanism. The driver acknowledged his negligence, and I refused delivery: the company emailed me a claim form that afternoon, which I returned that day by email, and then mailed a paper copy the following day (October 11). In the 3 months since the destruction of the property through the mover's negligence, I have had no contact whatsoever on the status of my claim. I have emailed them 4 times, with no reply, and called the company 5 times to request an update. In each call, employees have advised that they have my paperwork, but the person who processes their liability claims was out of the office--but that I could expect a call back within 48 hours. Of course, there has never been any follow-up whatsoever. The value of the jukebox was $6,750 and, after 3 months without even the courtesy of a reply or any contact whatsoever regarding the status of my claim for reimbursement, I am seeking your help with a resolution--namely, payment on the insurance policy that I paid for on October 5. After this debacle, I looked the firm up on Yelp (wish I had done so first. . ) and note that there are several other individuals who have not been paid on insurance claims, after paying the company for total value replacement coverage. There appears to be a pattern of fraud by the owner, and their BBB Ranking should reflect their unscrupulous practices and outrageous actions.Initial Complaint

I had miracle man movers scheduled on 8/19 for a 2-3pm arrival window. By 4:30pm, after calling multiple times, I finally got through to someone who told me they would be there "soon". After many calls, being ignored and given no information, the team finally arrived at 9pm. Which was 5 hours late. One gentleman used my restroom without permission and made a mess. The most alarming part of my encounter, was a crew member repeatedly asking me "what's in your safe". His last words before leaving were, "I am going to find out what's in that safe" . I was scared. I didn't want to stay alone in the house worrying about being robbed. It caused a lot of stress for me. I have been offered no resolution to this situation at all. First off, I want to start with. I have never filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in my life. I scheduled with Miracle Man Movers to do my move. Im about 7 miles. *** man that I spoke to told me that they usually do a walk-through but because I was moving so soon just to let him know what I had to move and they could do it. ***y quoted me a price thats pretty comparable to a few other places, and he seemed pretty nice on the phone so I gave him my inventory not realizing that I left a box out. ***y werent going to take it. I am making a very long drawn out story short. Once the movers got there they were taking my things when I said, are you going to take this that and the other they said no its not on the inventory mind you I had gotten a U-Haul the night before and taking several things that I said were on the inventory but werent. *** guys moving said Id have to talk to the manager who was the guy that I had first spoke to he wasnt very nice anymore. In fact, he said to me are you gonna listen lady or are you stupid to which I replied, I wanna speak to your manager we were in the middle of this very big move so there wasnt much I could do about it with this all being said they left away. It said they left my Christmas tree. ***y left two closets full of things that were supposed to be taken by myself with my kid had to go back the next day and do three truckloads full. My things were damaged and I was treated with hostility. When I called ****, who is the HR person or rather, she called me she said this is not acceptable. This is not how we run a business and assured me that I could get a partial refund for my trouble and that the person that called me stupid would be reprimanded which I dont think she did anything about. I corresponded with her for probably a week her promising to call and get the issue resolved that never happened then when I said I was going to turn around for robbing me I paid $2000 for this move and had to do half the Wk myself? My son helped the movers unload the whole truck when we got to my new house. She reassured me several times that she would make it up to me and Ive heard nothing. *** only thing she said to me is when I said I was going to report her and do a bad review then she said ** still looking into it after reading other reviews I realized shes not doing anything so I at least wanted to go on here and give her one more opportunity to make this right because I will be doing yelp ****** and any other review on this company that I can find and I will post emails of her promising to do something for me. This is not OK we are in practically a recession and I dont have money to throw away for damaged things and work that wasnt completed. Please help me to get this resolved. Thank you.Initial Complaint

We hired this company to move my mother in May. When they moved us, they were late for our appointment and then wanted to try and charge us more for going past 5 PM. They did decided to not charge us extra for that. But they did end up charging us more that what was quoted for us. We choose to pay for the extra insurance. When they moved the stuff, some of the items were damaged. We choose to only file a claim on the fridge that was damaged (photos attached). After submitting the claim, we have tried to contact them multiple times and no one is returning our calls or our emails. We are not sure what to do at this point.Initial Complaint

This business is the worst of the worst! They owe me money since last year for breaking marble on my newly purchased dresser. I submitted a claim via mail, and on July 28th I received an email from **** acknowledging the receipt of my claim and asking me to send them the receipt of the purchase and its weight. On August 1st I sent receipts of our dresser which had picture of the dresser with weight and price indicated. **** acknowledged receipt of the email and said that she would work to get this resolved based on the weight by August 15, 2022. I have not heard anything on August 15th, so I sent an email on August 18th asking about the update. On the same day, **** replied asking again for the receipt. On August 29th I wrote her an email saying that I already sent a receipt and asked if she still needs it. I did not hear back, so I sent an email on September 10th, and **** replied that she did not receive the receipt. On September 11th I forwarded copies of the receipts I sent originally, but I did not get any response again, so I emailed **** on September 12th asking if she received the receipts, but no luck. I sent an email on November 14th telling her that I have no choice but to consult with a lawyer. **** immediately replied saying that she still needs to get a receipt that shows weight. I was shocked because I sent it to her so many times and she pretends like she never received it. I resent it again and **** responded that she does not see the weight on the receipt even though the weight is clearly indicated on the receipt which was 205lb. I sent her again a picture of just one receipt showing the weight. **** responded to me saying that she got the receipt but she is working on weight because according to the weight that went on inventory my table weighs 45 pounds and she would be more than happy to use this weight to issue me a check for 45 pounds. It is not a table but a dresser!!! I need a refund for my dresser which is $1299.00!Initial Complaint

My move was 4/27/2023, I understand that they would charge me from the time the movers left the office to my former apartment but no where was I told or read that I would be charged almost an additional hour upon the two men completing my move to the time they get to the office. I had enough to pay for 2.5 hours, and got charged over the $503.85 3 hour estimate to almost $587 or so due to the 56 minute drive back to the office. I was scheduled Wed 12/21 with a 2-3pm arrival for 2 movers. 3PM rolled around-I hadn't heard from anyone. I understand delays, but the lack of communication was not okay. I called the office, spoke with **** who said he'd find out what happened. At 4:15, I got a call from *******, a member of the crew. He gave a 6pm ETA then called me at 6:15 asking if I still wanted the job done that evening. I said I had to move by 12/22. He called his supervisor, they decided to proceed that evening & provide 2 additional movers at no cost.Only 2 movers arrived at 7 to load my things. The storage facility closed at 9PM and we arrived after 10PM. I thought the gate code allowed 24 hr access. ******* said most storage facilities closed at a specific time which made me wonder why they didn't push the move to Thurs? He called his supervisor and my items stayed in the truck overnight free of charge. They'd be back 7am to unload the truck.I arrive at Thurs 7AM. When 7:30 rolls around I call **** for an ETA. ******* and 2 crew guys show up at 8:30am. They move all my stuff in just over 30 minutes. I know state regs require billing 2 hour minimum each day.I was given and invoice of $528.45. I told **************** already paid a deposit of $300. I was invoiced for 3.5 hours Wednesday and 2 hours Thursday for a total of $828.45. I didn't argue with him since I knew he's not in charge of billing, and I A moving company should know industry standards regarding storage facility hours and pushed the job to Thurs. I called the office about a refund and spoke with *******. I knew she couldn't adjust the charges for Thurs, but asked if they'd refund an hour for Wednesday? She said she'd check with accounting. I emailed a few days later. Her response was to cc me on an email that was sent to **** in accounting on 12/28. I emailed **** on 1/11. She stated she had not been made aware of my situation and would look into it and get back to me. I STILL have not heard back.Initial Complaint

They took a deposit from us of $574.75 but NEVER applied to our bills or gave us a refund-and after 5 months of making requests for it, they just keep taking us in circles and we are fed up with them!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:They refunded a portion - entirely because of this complaint - thank you BBB.
The refunded us $462.92 of the $574.75, leaving a balance due back to us of $111.83. They provided no explanation for the shortfall in the refund.
