I bought a 2020 RAV4 hybrid AWD XLE from Used LLC on February 23rd, 2025 for $15,995 (financed with OCCU). I traded in my car for $500 and put $1,000 down. On February 28th, the engine of the RAV4 failed. The warranty I purchased for the vehicle will not cover the engine. The dealership should not have been selling that car for that price with a bad engine. Their website claims to have an A+ BBB rating, but they're not accredited by BBB and they have a D- rating.Business Response

Mr. ******* did purchase a 2020 ****** Rav4 from us on 03/23/2025 as well as an optional vehicle service contract. What he didn't mention is that he took the vehicle to ********* ****** the very next day on 03/24/2025 to be inspected and it passed with flying colors. Mr. ******* authorized all but one of the recommended maintenance services offered by ***** *****, the Vancouver ****** Service Advisor which included IRIDIUM 4 cyl tune up, coolant service, inverter coolant service, brake fluid exchange, ************************ and hybrid cooling fan motor service, leaving only the cabin air filter replacement undone. After this service is when Mr. ******* says he started experiencing problems and that his service contract company wouldn't cover these problems but this is untrue, what actually happened is that he refused to follow the necessary and very standard steps to getting the claim approved which should have been a slam dunk after his due-diligence in obtaining the post purchase inspection report from ****** in days prior. We explored options that worked towards a resolution for Mr. ******* but were met with the same road blocks with his non-compliance at every turn consequently making us unable to help moving forward.
Mr. ******* test drove then purchased the vehicle running great.
Mr. ******* drove the vehicle almost 100 miles without incident then got the vehicle inspected by a ****** dealership where it passed with flying colors.
The vehicle was serviced by a shop of his choosing then immediately afterwards started experiencing problems.
The company which his service contract was through attempted to start his claim, but Mr. ******* refused to complete the necessary steps for them to do so.
Used LLC worked to find a resolution with Mr. ******* but he was unwilling to let us.
Ive attached the post purchase inspection report from ****** and the post inspection service receipt to this response.
We are a very high volume dealership with integrity and services that have earned us an extremely high approval rating with 99% of our customers and as much as we wish Mr. ******* wasnt part of the other 1% we also wish that he would have let us help him change that.

On 7/6/24, I purchased a 2014 *********. The sticker price was $5995 reduced to $4995. I financed in-house and they raised it to the original $5995. While looking at the vehicle, I did mention the two rear tires were bald. He told me that they only detail vehicles that are high in value I took it on a test drive, as did other people, the whole one exit to the next on I-5. Not enough time to really test it from a reputable dealer. It was hot, dry wipers not used. It seems that the car lot never even went through the car mechanically to make sure it was in proper working order as this would have been fixed. I took it through a car wash, then found the wipers on the drivers side was not moving. I inspected them finding the whole linkage was broken. I assume this lot knows the laws governing sales of cars. All vehicles sold "must" be considered safe to drive on our public roads, safety equipment must be working to be legally sold. This Cruze "WAS NOT" legal to sell. Wipers are considered safety equipment, tires are as well. Tires must have at least 2/32 of tread, they barely had 1/32. Also, I was 5-7 days late on a payment because I got hurt at work, got a delayed paper check Instead. Repo guy shows up, not in possession of the vehicle yet, I call the lot and tried to make the payment owed over the phone. They refused, payment bad for them. I am now going through an thearbitrator to recover my $2800 down payment, ,$238 in 2 tires and new wiper linkage just to make it legal to drive I am seeking the car be returned with no fees to me where I would continue regular payments OR my whole in-house contract to be voided clearing any repossession. I'm giving an option for UsedLLC, as I already have a won case, just on the fact the car was illegal to sell in the first place. A BBB rating of a C is being too generous. Not properly getting ANY car to be legal to sell, going through it to make sure everything works ...I see why this lot has so many complaints!Initial Complaint

March 31, 2024. I went in to the place to look at a 2009 ********** Golf Gti. Believing that the car was in a good condition I went through the process of purchasing the vehicle. After driving the car to work the next morning the check engine light came on along with some alerts. I then scheduled to take it into a mechanic. The mechanic ran a diagnosis and told me that it would require a new motor. I then contacted Used LLC to see if I could work something out with them and they told me to bring the car in. I told them that the car's check engine light was on and that i took it to a mechanic they said to get a second opinion. I also told them that I felt that they should have disclosed that information. Their response was that it was on me to know that. And they were not going to refund me and to to have a good day.I did take the car to another mechanic. Their diagnosis was the same as the first mechanic.I have not made any contact with Used LLC, since.Business Response

********** purchased his vehicle from us AS IS and declined optional mechanical breakdown coverage that was offered to him at the point of sale. He also willingly and knowingly disclaimed his rights to any implied warranties including implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose as part of the deal in his own hand written statement prior to finalizing his purchase. As far as ************** claims that we should have disclosed something to him, there was nothing known to either party that should have been disclosed at the time of purchase other than the nature of the sale which again was AS IS.Initial Complaint

Purchased 2013 mini ****** in good faith. This dealer stated no existing problems with vehicle. 5 miles from dealership parking lot, check engine light came on. Attempted to call, and was hung up on by the mgr, ******, who hung up on me, had to call back and was very rude and intimidated as he proceeded to remind me the car was sold as is. This car dealership knowingly sold a vehicle that had issues and did not disclose. We would not have bought the vehicle had we known.Business Response

************ inspected and test drove the vehicle before his purchase. Used LLC was unaware of any specific issues with the vehicle but ************ did agree to purchase the vehicle AS-IS at a negotiated price and knowingly waived any implied warranties there might otherwise have been by HAND WRITING the statement "I give up my right to any implied warranty including implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose" on the vehicle Buyers Guide which is attached to this response. ************ also signed other documents acknowledging the agreement to purchase the vehicle AS-IS without any warranty expressed or implied. This was understood and agreed to by both parties before the sale was finalized and cant be altered after the fact just because ************ decided to change his mind. ************ purchased a used vehicle and as much as we wish that all used vehicles were all perfect, we all know they are not. On January 21st 2023 I went to Used LLC car dealership with my friend ***************************** to get her a vehicle. ****** had received a pre-approved loan from IQ ************ to get a new vehicle with no need for a co-signer. We arrived at the dealership after the bank had closed. They worked with ****** to find a car that met the requirements of the loan. Due to the bank being closed and ****** having no credit history, the dealership said the best they could do was sell the vehicle to me then transfer the title to ****** once her financing is approved by 1/24. I signed papers for the car, ****** had paid $500 for the deposit, and we left the dealership with the car. On 1/23 ****** went to IQ ************ and they informed her that they do not work with that dealership and that there was no need for a cosigner. When ****** confronted the dealership about this they said they had made it abundantly clear on 1/21 that they didn't work with ****************, her father *****, and I did not hear them disclose this information on 1/21. When ****** asked about returning the vehicle they said that it's now my responsibility then told her it would be a shame if something were to happen to my Credit. ******************* called me and told me that there seemed to be issues regarding ******** financing and then told me that ****** and ***** were rather emotional and that I must be the level-headed one to talk to. Their contract states that if third party financing is unobtainable within 4 days the dealership or I have the right to take the car back. We arrived at Used LLC and returned them the keys on 1/23. When ***** went to check the mileage with *** he denied him access to the mileage and told ***** he would list the car as a repo. *** took the keys and my contract and told us to have a nice day. I asked for my contract back and he gave it back. I haven't heard anything back regarding the return of the vehicle or the deposit. I attempted contacting them but still haven't heard from them.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I was not allowed to have the truck inspected by a mobile mechanic and when I test drove it I was only allowed to go on the freeway for one exit. I was taken advantage of and am now stuck with a large bill and no truck. I took the truck to 3 different mechanics who all said the same thing. It needs a whole new engine. When I tried to peacefully reticfy the situation I was met with hostility.
Sincerely,
