I had surgery 01/26/2021. The hospital finally billed me in January 2023. I paid the bill, but they kept billing me for adjustments that our insurance provider said I didnt owe. My wife kept taking my paperwork to them and meeting with the billing office, but they couldnt explain what I owed and how the payments were applied. She just kept getting the run around. Finally, she met with a new person from MultiCare on 05/19/23. He said the account was zero and they were actually sending us a refund. I thought the issue was resolved. Then in March 2024 they sent me to collections with no warning. Again, my wife went to the billing office. Luckily, the person still worked there. He removed us from collections and said he would have the account reviewed. My wife has called the person that called us requesting more information, but she works from home and is only in the office once a week. Again we are getting the run around. They are still billing me and cant explain the account to me or my wife and why they think I still owe them money. I will gladly pay the money if they prove to me that I owe it. Per my insurance company EOBs, I have paid what I owe based on the bills they have sent me. I just don't want to end up in collections again and want this matter resolved.

I am really not sure where to start , I will say that I did receive great service as a patient on the day I was there. How ever the billing thing is just, what can I say but lazy. And what I mean by that is not one time was I contacted by the billing department to come up with a payment plan. Now I know you must be saying well that is the patients job, what I will say is by sending the account to collections you will not receive the full amount. Now I understand as I have owned 2 business and you can always use write offs , but what are you paying employees to do? and are you teaching them to be a productive employee No! Having said that I am requesting a full billing statement. AND I would really encourage the hospital to take a good look at your billing practices, people don't always look at a bill and understand that they do offer options and a representative should be able to make those sometimes uncomfortable calls to truly help with this and get the hospital all the amount owed instead of just using for a write off. Support your community with understanding, compassion and respect that the economy is hard on all of us at this time. Thank You *****************************

*** received a bill from Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital for a service done a year ago. Is it legal fir a business to wait a year to bill you and am I responsible for it now?
