I retained Criminal Defense Services Inc. through their owner, ********* *************** to do an investigation into my criminal conviction out of ************ ** to prove my actual innocence. Ms. ********* ****** led me to believe that I did not need a licensed attorney and that she could prepare my legal arguments for me and represent me in court for a reduced rate. I recall paying $1500 for the investigation and $3500 for the legal representation. When I received the legal documents, there was NO legal argument or case law in them. I asked another agency to review them, and I was informed that Ms. ****** cannot even practice law without a license. She began to slander myself and the other agency and then removed herself from my contacts list preventing me from being able to further contact her or her company. I have since learned that she has done this to numerous other people in prison. And in fact, was sued by the ********* at one point, however I believe the case was dismissed on a technicality. I would at least like my $3500 refunded. I have attached relevant information, and I would have not even known of the illegality of Ms. ****** practice of law without a license without the outstanding professional assistance of ******** to ************ and their agents. Please investigate my complaint. Thank you.

I was going to hire the private investigator to help with my boyfriends case. We had a $1500 plan. I gave her $1000 to get started and I would pay her the rest when the person I was paying with gave me the money. Eventually they couldnt pay and I couldnt afford it, and my boyfriend didnt need them. They havent started anything or made a visit as planned so I asked for a refund and didnt want to give it back. Then a family friend tried paying the rest of the $500 and they told her they couldnt take the case because they had too many high profile cases and didnt refund her either. I would like a refund.

Ive uploaded a copy of the contract and it was for **** not ****. Within the contract it was agreed she was supposed to pay the remaining balance of **** on May 24. On May 19th shortly after giving the thousand dollar deposit ****** contacted the private investigator with ***** on the line and they gave him a list of task to do including working on an alibi from **********. There were multiple witnesses in this case and backgrounds were done on all the witnesses. When we were retained ****** stated she did not know anything about the case but during our preliminary investigation we found out she was very much involved in the case. This was a murder case and ****** was not only dropped off at the hospital with the deceased male but her car was allegedly used in the drive-by shooting. She was also involved in a drive-by shooting that happened days before at her house. None of this was disclosed to us and we were not happy about that.  I continually contacted ****** for the signing of the contract and she gave me excuse after excuse. We were then informed ***** was canceling service. ****** then asked me for a refund even though she was kept up-to-date on the work the investigator was doing during this time. She acknowledges in her texts that it was not our wrongdoing but rather ***** that wasted her time and her money but she is still coming back to me asking for a refund. I even offered to lower the contract to **** and take $200 payments from his aunt and I would transfer the contract over to her. The Aunt still wanted services. But I sent her the contract on May 31 with a promise to pay that Friday. She never signed the contract or came through and did not authorize the first payment until June 16. It was at that time I informed her we had more clients sign with us and we would not be able to take on Terrys case any further. That was also in part due to the misrepresentation and dishonesty of ******. We feared she would be arrested shortly for her involvement which would then create a conflict. I attempted to work the situation out as I do not like unhappy clients. We service over 100 cases a year and still have an A+ rating with the BBB and we are proud of that. Its a shame when something like this happens but I have uploaded all of the information I find helpful. If any future clients have a question about this please feel free to call me anytime.
