Family dog was taken to BluePearl for care of breathing problems. Coughing, wheezing, etc. A 12:30pm appointment had been made. Veterinarian was not seen until 3+ hours later. Informed would need to "put down" $1100.00 to continue care, x-rays etc. Dog was left at facility. After results we were told another $2200.00 would be needed for continued care. Also informed dog could be euthanized as an option. Very upsetting. Elected to continue care at home, however we were unable to recontact them to make pickup arrangements. No one answers phone. Entire process took over 7 hours, before we were able to get him out. At end, they state dog has Blastomycosis and provided medications. Total charged $1259.30. Learned through research Blastomycosis is very common condition in dogs. BluePearl staff should have recognized it right away, however, elected to waste a great deal of time and money and cause our family a huge amount of stress. Dog is doing well, meds are working, end result good, however, BluePearl's practices are suspect and in our opinion dishonest.

If I could leave a 0 star rating, I definitely would. I had called them saying I need an emergency C-section for my dog. Lady turned me away! Said to go to some place in Milwaukee. Which is well over 2 hours away to drive in the dark, and rain to a very busy city. my dog is in distress have been in labor for 24 hours, Broke her water hours ago, something is wrong, and she needs an emergency C-section. She says every room filled up. If i want just sit in the lobby and wait, (even if they cant take us, ) She told me due to space we can't take on any new patients. (My question is then why should i wait in the lobby with a distressed dog and get no help but to just sit there and never get admitted) In essence, she's telling me to let my dog die because my dog couldn't have her puppies, and they dont have room to do a surgery. ( When in truth, they did have a room for surgery, they just didn't have a place to put her afterwards) They will not take care of her. I don't care if I have to take her home right away after I just need help. What kind of emergency place turns away people who are needing emergency help! Also, because blue pearl turned us away they caused us to lose 7 of our 9 puppies. The extra time it took for us to find an emergency place to take us and travel to get there. (Turns out the first puppy was balled up and blocking the way for the rest and c section was the only option!) Time was a factor! And in my opinion Blue Pearl dosent believe in animal welfare if they turned us away! This company is ran by the **** ******* ** **** And their only recommendation was to send me to Milwaukee, who also was a **** ******* ** **** company affiliation. When in truth, there was a lot closer option near Stevens point with a non corporatied ran company. Who took us in a heartbeat.
