I was approached by a lady that is no longer with the company. I signed a 3 year contract almost 3 years ago. She told me the 3 year contract was the best deal and the magazine would reach a ton of clients with lots of cats.Being a small business who just got certified in cat grooming I was desperate and neive to get clients. I spent $10,000 and got one client. When I ever I brought the issue to the *** she got upset with me. This has caused me to go into debt and get very depressed. My contract is done in April of this year but I want out now!

We have honored the agreement that our client signed, including running their print and digital ads as promised. Our local *** also offered an upgrade to a larger print ad size. Expert Contributors are responsible for providing their articles, and as of yet, we have not received an article from our client to run in the magazine. Our *** communicated the terms while presenting to our client. Additionally, all terms are provided in writing before the signing of any agreement, and also delivered to our client electronically immediately upon signing.

July 8th/2024: Under high pressure sales tactics and reassurances that the ad could be cancelled if needed I signed the contract (I told the sales *** I couldn't see the contract on my end when singing as was advised to sign anyway and a copy would be sent to me). Within a few days I realized it was a mistake. It was too expensive, not my target market and I wasnt going to have time or resources for it. I expressed that I was underwater in time, energy and money and didn't think my business could survive this ad. Each time when I felt I had the energy to deal with this I asked for it to be cancelled. This was very early on and ***eatedly. I started asking for cancellation in July when the ad wasn't being published until Septemeber. I was met with different delay tactics and run arounds each time. In October I got a staff member to handle the magazines requirements. The result was a summary completed for me that showed how much money I was spending on it in staff time and the ad itself. This was compared to the leads, which were zero. Some of the promised services werent even set up. I requested cancellation again as the promised returns weren't being seen. Soon after the October issue was released with a mature potentially inappropriate librarian theme which doesnt support our strategy in any way (or what they presented as theirs family magazine).I am not asking for a refund. I want the ad to stop and no future pymts attempted. I have paid $1800.49 x Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov = $7201.96 plus my time and energy (as well as my staffs), for my mistake with zero return. . I havent had any contact from the BVM staff (other than account receivable) since November. I was left with no other choice but to stop any future payments and am now being threatened with collections. This is unacceptable and proof of how this has been handled since the beginning. Unprofessional, strong arm tactics, not geared to helping their community as they say.

I had a meeting with a representative from Best version media back at the beginning of 2024. He told me I could purchase a set amount of ads in my local magazine for my business. After agreeing to 3 ads only to begin in October of 2024. he took my credit card info and had me sign on his iPhone for the 3 ads. Months go by and I sold the business before the ads ran. I never received any phone calls emails prior to them running the ad to confirm I was still running the ad. They just pulled their own pictures from ****** and ran the ad anyway. I get a phone call from the new owner of the new owner of the business stating he received a collections email. When calling the phone number in the email I got a lady who said she would have billing or the publisher call me. Never heard from either. I track down the publishers email and email her my concerns she accuses me of lying about selling my business and tells me I have a past due balance of ****** and to pay it immediately. I ask her for her billing departments contact as I can't get through to the number on ****** and tell her not to run another ad as I don't have the business anymore! she never responded and has continued running the ads and sends another collection for over 2000 dollars! This business uses tactics that are not upfront in pricing, and trick you into contracts that apparently lock you in to a yearly contract with no way to get out or get ahold of anyone! I have contacted an attorney and disputed the collections.

I was contacted about purchasing advertising in a new ***************** by a local publisher ****. After an hour long meeting I signed a contract for a year at over $900 a month due to a sample magazine shown which was very in content and light in advertising. **** made it very clear that he did not want it to be a book full of ads. The past 4 magazines that went out are approx 20 ads and 3-4 articles and only 30% of the residents receive the magazine!!! After expressing my concern I was told to contact BVM and BVM tells me to contact ****. No one will help or cancel the contract...it is impossible to get a hold of anyone at BVM and the local publisher doesn't have the authority to cancel so around and around we go and they keep charging my credit card!

The issue involves advertising. We're paying this company to manage our advertising. There have been multiple attempts to resolve proof of advertising and get transparency from this company. All that they have offered is a fake website with our ad photoshopped on it. Our agreement is for ****** Display ads. If you look at #** on the agreement, they do not guarantee that the ****** Display ad will be displayed. Additionally, the salesperson had us sign the agreement on an iPad. The agreement was supposed to be for 12 months. Nowhere on the screen did it say 24 months. The salesperson also promised us a cover photo of our family along with a story about our family. We were also supposed to receive a 650-word story about our business. Neither one of these promises have come to pass. This company deceived us and has not been forthcoming with proof that we're getting our ad displayed on ******. The ****** Ad Transparency tool has zero results for our business. There has been zero transparency and no willingness from the company to resolve this issue.

According to our local **** all terms of this agreement were communicated clearly before our client signed. Agreement terms are also available in writing before signing, and an electronic copy is delivered immediately after signing. Our client's digital ads have been running according to the agreement and digital impressions continue to be generated for their business. This information is delivered to our client in a monthly report. Our magazines feature local families each month, but that is not included in the terms of the agreement that our client signed. In regards to the business feature, the article needs to be supplied by our client and is a once-per-agreement opportunity. We have honored the agreement that was signed and will continue to advertise our client's business for the duration of the agreement.

I had entered an advertising program with our company and BVM with ads starting in February of 2023. In December of 2023 after a few redesigns of the ads over the course of the year and numerous calls between the sales *** and my self, we had requested a cancelation due to having 0 measurable impact in the growth in my business. After discussing with my *** more "solutions" in order to have more effective ads we decided to try it for a bit longer, to absolutely no benefit.I had followed up in August of 2024 with yet another cancelation request to which the *** refused to pass on without a face to face meeting where the *** ended up talking me into an extension of services, within 24 hours of that meeting I had called the *** saying I would not like the extension to go through (well within the window of cancelation) and had not received any confirmation that the extension no longer ********* December of 2024 I had again requested a cancelation of services as up to this point we had invested over $14,000 and have yet to see any material gain from the services BVM has "provided." Again, the *** tried to keep us on board and took a ton of time away from me and my partner to keep us on the program and spent a whole lot of time refusing to help us go through any process of cancelation, and in fact spent almost an hour and a half trying to sell us on further services, all while refusing to show us any metric that would have any semblance of actual benefit of the *********** team has sent an email to BVM Requesting a cancelation of contract and services between our businesses moving forward, directly after the meeting we had in December and are awaiting a response.

We hired Best Version Media for our advertising, at the beginning of 2024 and was coerced by lies of how great this company Is. A few months later when we was not receiving what was promised to us, I asked to be released from the contract. They told me (NO)! And there is no other option but to pay them there money. There are many complaints about Best Version Media online, including on the Better Business Bureau website and Reddit. These complaints often allege that the company makes promises of calls and leads that never materialize, and that their contracts are difficult to cancel. We recommend that no one use this very dishonest company. We will never refer them to anyone. It Is important for us remember that we are not alone in this situation. Many other businesses have had similar experiences with Best Version Media. By sharing our story, we hope to help others avoid making the same mistake.

I am writing to formally report fraud regarding a recent transaction with BVM. I was led to believe I was signing for a one-time credit card charge, but it was misrepresented and turned out to be a 36 month contract. The tablet which I signed was presented to be just a signature line and the true terms were not clearly disclosed; I was mislead about the nature of the agreement. I would not have agreed to any terms in which I was contractually obligated to pay. Furthermore, before any services were performed AND once I was aware of the aforementioned contract, I requested immediate cancellation. At the time of the initial request for cancellation, no services had been performed by BVM and they had the opportunity to cancel the contract amicably.I have requested a charge back via **************** due to the 1) services not being performed 2) my request that services not be performed 3) the misleading act of presenting a 36 month contract as a credit card signature line.I have since been threatened by BVM representatives, provided non-existent customer service, and harassed via email by the local BVM publisher; all of which I have clear documentation of.I have continued to attempt to resolve this case and cancel the contract BEFORE services are provided, however my efforts have fallen short. I maintain that I did not knowingly sign a 36 month agreement, and I continue to request cancellation immediately.

I am filing a complaint regarding the services provided by Best Version Media (BVM). Below are my main grievances:1.Misleading Sales Process: The sales process was rushed, unclear, and lacked transparency. I was not given adequate time to review or understand the contract terms, and I was led to believe I was signing up for a short-term ad campaign, not a 36-month commitment.2.Failure to **************** Issues: Despite multiple assurances, I have not received a single mailed copy of the magazine, including the November issue. I was asked to contribute an article for the December issue but had not received prior issues. Additionally, Ive heard from others that the magazine is not consistently delivered to the same households each month.3.Lack of ROI: Despite claims of significant online and magazine exposure, I have not received any leads or inquiries from this campaign. When customers do reach out, it is due to my own efforts, not because of the magazine. Even if my pricing were an issue, I still book a significant percentage of jobs when leads come in.4.Failure to Fulfill Promises: Promises regarding magazine delivery and customer service have not been honored. I was assured the magazine would be mailed monthly, but this has not been the case.5.Customer Complaints: There have been numerous complaints about BVMs practices, including issues with contract cancellation, unclear renewal terms, and unfulfilled delivery promises. These indicate a broader pattern of dissatisfaction with BVMs services.6.Lack of Accountability: BVM has downplayed my concerns and failed to address these issues adequately. The response has been dismissive rather than focused on resolving the problems.I hope that my grievances will be addressed in a fair manner.

I have included the over 20 emails exchanged with the representative, during which they have failed to offer any resolution I feel is fair. Their responses have been dismissive and at times insulting. Despite my repeated requests over several months to stop running the ad due to my inability to pay, or at least to pause it until we came to an acceptable agreement, they have continued to run it, adding to my financial burden. Furthermore, there has been no acknowledgment of the discrepancy between the cost I was initially promised and the higher amount I have been charged. They have also failed to propose a repayment schedule that I can reasonably agree to.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. In the over 20 emails exchanged with the representative, they have offered only one resolution: to pay the past due balance in full or accept a payment plan that I have repeatedly stated since September is beyond my financial means. Despite my efforts, they have failed to provide any resolution that I feel is fair. In one of these exchanges, the representative even included the salesperson to provide input, but to date, he has not responded, which speaks volumes about the lack of accountability.
Their responses have been dismissive and, at times, insulting. I initiated the original conversation because the company included an address on a late bill for reaching out for help. That was misleading, as the subsequent email exchange proved unhelpful. I reached out in good faith to address my concerns and financial situation, hoping to find some middle ground. Yet, despite my repeated requests over several months to stop running the ad due to my inability to payor at least pause it until we could reach an acceptable agreementthey have continued to run the ad, further compounding my financial burden.
Moreover, there has been no acknowledgment of the discrepancy between the costs I was initially promised and the higher amount I have been charged. The companys refusal to propose a reasonable repayment plan or address the fundamental issues has left me feeling dismissed and unsupported. Their single proposed resolution is simply not acceptable to me.

We have honored our end of the agreement that was signed and have attempted to work with our client to find a reasonable solution. We continued to place ads for their business despite payments not being made for several months.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

They continue to claim they have upheld the terms of the agreement I signed, but they refuse to acknowledge the misleading verbal conversations that led to my decisionconversations built on false pretenses. I was completely transparent about my financial situation from the beginning and made multiple requests to stop running the ads due to my inability to pay. Despite these requests, they admitted in their own communication that they continued running the ads for several months without payment, further inflating my balance and worsening my financial burden.
I reached out to address my concerns well before the balance became unmanageable, trying to resolve the issue proactively. Instead of working with me, they chose to persist in running the ads, driving me deeper into debt. I am not avoiding my obligations; I simply want a resolution that is fair and within my means.
For months, I have been trying to exit this contract after discovering it was binding, contrary to what I was led to believe during the sales presentation. I was repeatedly assured that the magazine would bring substantial growth to my business, yet the ads have delivered no resultsa ***** contrast to the promises made. I have been clear that the ads are not benefiting my business, and continuing to run them has only made my situation worse.
The emails I have provided clearly outline my ongoing efforts to be released from this contract and to negotiate a payment plan that I can afford. In one of these exchanges, the representative even looped in the salesperson, giving him a chance to clarify his position or explain the misleading promises. To date, he has said nothing. His silence speaks volumes about the lack of accountability and reinforces the companys questionable practices.
I believe a fair resolution would be for me to pay only for the ads I agreed to up to September, when I first learned this was a binding contract.
The responses I have received have been inconsistent at best. One representative claimed early termination was impossible, while another stated I could end the contract but only if I paid the remaining balance in full. This shifting stance further proves their unwillingness to engage with me in good faith.
Given the circumstances, I believe the company should work with me to find a fair resolution, including a payment plan that reflects the ads I agreed to run. I know I am not alone in this experience; over 100 complaints on the BBB website tell nearly identical stories, highlighting a troubling and consistent pattern of misleading sales tactics and predatory practices.

I received a reasonable and fair settlement agreement; however, on the same day, I also received a collections letter for seven times the settlement amount. I will be reaching out to the company for clarification. If theyre willing to work out a fair repayment schedule with me, I believe we can finally resolve this matter.
