The transaction date is 3/3/2023 when I bought my son a car for his belated 16th birthday present, We test drove a 2013 **** Focus, At that time the car drove smoothly, and it has ****** miles. I thought this is the car we have been looking for, we paid $6300.00 for the car before taxes and registration and plates, overall it came to $6,919.50, the car is sold as is. The next day we started the car and found that trying to get up to speed the car wanted to jerk and trouble shifting into next gear, this is an automated car but has a dual clutch system. We took it in for diagnostic on Monday, and found that they stated it was a clutch problem and the cost is $3,000 plus. I contacted the dealership that evening and talked to the owner. He said that we can bring it in and he will take a look at it, we took it in on Wednesday, I tried to reach out to him the following Monday and Tuesday and he wouldn't respond, I found him on ******** and messaged him and he finally responded, he said the ****** clutch is melted and he will not repair that, I asked for a refund and he said he will not be out the money, he believes that we pounded the car to make it act like this and mess the transmission up, He agreed to pay $1000.00 to fix it. I called a mechanic today 3/20 and he said he wouldn't fix just the part, the whole transmission would need to be replaced and that is over $4,000.00 I do not have the extra money to get this fixed, even if the dealer was paying $1000.00. I 100% believe that he sold me a car that had problems and that he just hid it. I spend all my tax money to get my son a reliable car and this has only caused a horrible experience for my son and I. I'm willing to take this to small claims if unresolved. I'm a single mother and was fully taken advantage of.
