I received an email solicitation from Eau Claire Body Care to register for a a nurse injector course. I looked at their website which described a three day course costing $3999, with $999 deposit due on enrollment. There was no mention of this being a no refundable deposit. I spoke with one of the owners/course instructor over the phone on 3/25 and 3/26, and I registered for the course at 5:00pm on 3/26, paying the $999 deposit. Immediately upon receipt of this deposit, I was encouraged to book services at the business. I found this suspicious as I was interested in the educational opportunity only. The following morning I was looking into the business further and found complaints about this business on the BBB site, primarily surrounding financial practices. Before enrolling their site claimed only 5 spots left after enrolling this remained unchanged. I canceled my registration through the third party vendor they use to book the course. I sent the establishment and the owner/instructor Id spoken to multiple emails requesting a cancellation and refund of my deposit. I tried calling twice, was connected to no one, and left a message that was not returned. I texted the number Id been given by the establishment. None of these were answered. All of my attempts to cancel were made around 1-1:30 on 3/27, less than 24 hours after registering for the course. I received no contact from the establishment until 3/28, when the owner/instructor called and acted as though she had not received any of this. She sent me a link to a page separate from the course description/registration page saying that the business does not offer refunds. I disputed this, saying that she had two prior phone conversations with me, and for this, the business was claiming $999. After much back and forth, she asked that I give her 24 hours to resolve the situation. I have not heard anything since. I have all emails, text exchanges, and screenshots of their website to support this complaint.
