We purchased a special order countertop from Menards.. it was manufactured by midwest manufacturing Eau WI. We were initially told two weeks turnaround time.. so we purchased it. After three weeks I contacted Menards they assured me it was being built. It took five weeks. We set up delivery and received a call from Menards that it was broken.. It was actually broken in several pieces.. Menards immediately reordered it and said they put a rush on it. Three weeks later I called Menards and MidWest.. they had no order for it. Even though I Menards called me the day it was discovered broken to assure me the new order was placed. three more weeks and many phone calls , the delivery man brought our countertop.. 11 weeks.. He also told us when they went to pick up the first countertop the box was bowed.. and he could hear the pieces rattling in the box. There were many broken pieces and it was shipped that way. After we finally received the new countertop it was warped so bad that it took extra reinforcements to get it in place. My kitchen had already been disrupted for 11 weeks. Thanks to my ********* it is barely noticeable.. even though it sits higher in one spot. Midwest Manufacturing response was they could replace it . It would be 5 months without a countertop if I chose that route. After looking at there internet rating 1.8 I should have done my research.. I give the less than a one..

I placed an order for the ultradecking boards at Menards. They were on backorder so I didn't get them til October 2021. They were professionally installed and in May 2022 (7 months later) I was on the deck and fell through because a board broke. I called the contractors. They came out and looked at the boards. They could be broken by breaking pieces off with your thumb. Where the chair sits it is warped. Where the grill sits it is warped. The type is delaminating, the boards are cracked all over. Even the seat that was built that nobody has sat on is doing the same thing. I filed a warranty issue only to be told it was not installed properly. The contractors came out and corrected everything. It has only gotten worse. I emailed again letter her know it is worse and still I got the same run around. This month August 2023 I took a board into Menards and spoke to the assistant **. He told myself and the contractor that he could clearly see the board was not poured correctly. His exact words were it looks like one of those duraflame fire starter. He took all my information and said he was going to see if he could get them to do something since he knew it was a faulty board. Today, the very next day I get a call from the ** stating that they can not do anything for me because Menards will not let the stores get involved. I just want an in store credit so I can go get wood boards and get my deck redone. I can not use it because the boards are all breaking. It can not be walked on even by a child because the boards break when stepped on. I am at my **** end with these defective boards that even the Menards ** stated were not made correctly!!

In April 2023, I special ordered 30 boards ($35.05 each), of Ultra Deck Fusion composite decking through Menards (order number ********) manufactured by Midwest Manufacturing. I specifically chose this product as the company itself and Menards advertised it as follows: Engineered surface technology for fade, scratch and stain resistance, backed by the Ultradeck 25 year warranty, features our tough and durable top cap for high impact, scratch, and fade resistance, give your deck a unique, durable finish. These advertising claims are taken directly from the website ultradeck.com. On the Menards website, it is advertised as Low Maintenance, Provides you with the look of real wood without the upkeep, lacks the high maintenance costs of traditional wood products, and offers a ten year limited warranty.I immediately noticed many small black spots and small scratches/gouges in numerous places on the deck.Between June 16, 2023 and June 20, approximately 50 emails (mostly pictures) were exchanged between myself and ************ from UltraDeck. He requested that I send pictures, which I did. He said that he did not see any manufacturing defects, therefore could not help me. He subsequently asked for more pictures, which I took and sent. Throughout the email exchanges, ************ alternately denied seeing any issues and explained away the issues as my fault. He suggested that I had used too much force on the deck, causing the scratches. He suggested that I had spilled something on the deck. He suggested that I needed to sweep the deck, as debris on the deck would cause scratches. Each of these accusations against me was false, as there was no furniture at the time of noticing the first scratches, and I had not spilled anything. The deck was too new for even debris to be built up. He also told me to purchase Rustoleum deck cleaner and/or power wash the deck. I felt this was ludicrous as it was less than two weeks old and was supposed to be low maintenance.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The response completely disregards all of my concerns and I do not accept it. ***************** only addressed the minor scratching, and disregarded the gouging, major scratching, and staining. I could not return the boards, as they were already cut and installed. The stains occurred within a week of being completed, although the contractor noticed some small stains as he was installing. The warranty is misleading. On the Menards site there is one warranty length, and on the Midwest  manufacturing site there is a different one. Either way, they do not honor the warranty. Now that the deck is about 6 weeks old, I am noticing some of the boards warping. The product sold to me by Midwest Manufacturing has certainly not lived up to the ads and claims the company makes. I expect a full refund.

We had a contractor install Ultradecking from Menards approximately 7 years ago. We have had it redone 2 different times by 2 different contractors for a total of 3 times. We continue to have problems with the material warping, cracking, fading, and bubbling. The contractors followed the installation instructions each time. The company blames it on contractor error. They refuse to stand behind their product/warranty. We have spent in the vicinity of $17,000 and are very disappointed to continue to have a deck we have to do maintenance on every year.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to ************************** concerns.

I am so1Ty if ********************** has experienced a problem with his decking. We have reviewed ************************** information and pictures and find that the problem he is experiencing is with the sub-frame, not the decking. Ultra.Deck composite material is non load bearing and will take shape of whatever is applying pressure to it. It appears that one part of ************************** deck is warping in the exact same spot on all the boards, which indicates that the issue is underneath the deck surface. We reconunended that ********************** review the levelness of the substructure underneath the deck and make sure the substructure is not in contact with the ground. While I am sorry that ********************** experienced a problem with his decking, since this not a manufacturing defect, we are unable to offer any compensation.

We appreciate ************************** understanding in this matter.

We have had the deck built two different times by two qualified contractors.  Everything was done according installation instructions.  Extra joist boards were installed for extra support, Joist were installed 18 inches on center,  There is concrete footings used so it is not sitting on the ground and they made sure it was level the whole length of the deck. The boards are not just warped in one spot so it is not just one area.  I don't understand what some of this has to with the boards, cracking, bubbling up and fading. We have had the deck 8 years and the the company only offers a 10 year warranty which tells me they don't expect the boards to last anymore than 10 years. I have read plenty of reviews on the ultra decking and other people have been experiencing the same problems with the boards cracking and warping. People have also mentioned the company will not honor their warranty/stand by their product only to continue to blame the problems on installation.

I bought Fusion 2.0 Ultradecking from Menards in August of 2022. Almost immediately after installation my dogs were leaving scratches in what is advertised as "scratch resistant" decking. I went through the whole process of the complaint form, sent plenty of pictures, etc. Only to be told not to allow my dogs on the deck as a solution. No resolution to the terrible product they product. No consideration to the fraudulent claims the product is scratch resistant. Their warranty is deceptive, and based on the other complaints, I don't believe they would stand by it anyway. The warranty states it will not cover normal wear and tear which I assume they believe this falls under. I would consider scratches from dogs in less than a weeks time anything but normal wear and tear. I will by filing a small claims case against this company seeking a refund over what could have been a simple replacement under warranty for MM.

I ordered end splashes for my bathroom. A couple months after they were installed, the laminate covering lifted up on both of them. I went back to Menards where I purchased them. They had me fill out an installed product complaint and they forwarded it to Midwestern Manufacturing in **********, **. It was assigned to *******************. She first wanted me to glue the laminate back down. I requested they send someone to do that, I was not going to do that because I didn't want to void the warranty. When I filed the claim I included picture, proof of purchase and estimated from my contractor for my cost to make the repairs. They will send me replacement end splashes, but will not cover contractor costs. I shouldn't have to pay this because they sent me defective product. ****** will not call me and speak to me in person, and she will not tell me who her supervisor is nor will she connect me with that person.I want the end splashes replaced and labor costs covered for the contractor.

*************** to your letter from 1/3/2023.  I want Midwest
Manufacturing to pay for the contractor as well as sending me the
replacement product.  The defect on the end splashes did not show it
self until after they had been installed for a couple of months.  The
cost to pay some one to remove the defective ones and reinstall the new
ones should be theirs.  I already paid for it once.  If the product was
not defective, I would not be removing it and would have no cost.  It is
not my fault the laminate lifted, it is theirs.  There are 2 options I
will accept.  1.) Replacement of end splashes along with payment for
contractor for removal and reinstalling the product, or  2.)  They can
refund full cost of the end splashes along with the full cost of the
counter top that matches end splashes.

Purchased 49 roof trusses from them through menards. I am a contractor who has been a devoted menards customer and have spent MILLIONS with them over a span of 9 years. These trusses I purchased all had plate issues and were not cut manufactured to the correct size per their engineered specs. I requested they replace the trusses through the ** at menards and he said they wouldn't. So they agreed to replace 10 and I asked for a partial refund so I could repair and fix the trusses and add wood to sister for tails so we could make the overhangs proper. They replaced 10 trusses and told me they were gonna do nothing more for me. Midwest is a menards company and they should do whats right. They did not give me what I purchased and performed extremely poorly in customer satisfaction. I even have video recording of a rep for midwest taking measurements and admitting the trusses were incorrect.DO NOT BUY FROM MENARDS IF YOUR LOOKING FOR QUALITY TRUSSES!!!! if it comes from midwest RUN THE OTHER WAY.

Ultradeck advertises that its product does not warp which was the sole basis of my buying their product over other leading competitors. I have purchased over $5000 in ultradeck product and we discovered several boards not cutting straight. We called several contractors out thinking we were doing something wrong only to learn that the product is actually warped which is what was causing the issues with cuts. We had several contractors out who told us they see warping all the time with ultradeck and I needed to complain to get my money back due to the fact there wasnt anything I could do other than replace the entire deck. I reached out to ultradeck and was connected with ***** who has refused to provide me with his supervisors information and who is ignoring the fact the product is warped. I purchased a brand new board from Menards brought it home, laid it down on the cement and took pictures to show the warping on products directly from the Menards warehouse. Furthermore, ultradeck shared with me the storage requirements which includes not stacking the products higher than 12 inches which they themselves do not do. I think the fact that they dont follow their storage guidelines is contributing to the warping of the product. However, regardless of that fact, they advertise their product does not warp when it most certainly does even when laying on concrete in 70 degree weather.

This response is fraudulent and a flat out lie. I have provided over 20 photos from various angles proving without a doubt that the boards sold by this company are warped and they refuse to follow their warranty guarantee and stand behind their word that the boards dont warp when they in fact do. Furthermore, Menards claims they cannot assist with this issue yet Menards and Midwest manufacturing have clearly worked together in providing responses at the same time in response to my complaints. This company is a fraud and provides false advertising and fraudulent guarantees and fraudulent marketing. They should be shut down as basic ****** reviews show I am not the only person who has had this issue with this company. I will continue to fight and file complaints until this is resolved. I spent over $6000 on product that is guaranteed not to warp and is supposed to last at minimum 10 years. I am not even 10 weeks into using this product, I wasnt even ********************************* my possession and the boards were warped and show this product will not last as guaranteed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have provided more than enough pictures and documentation. The boards are warped straight from the store. This is not a storage issue or a weather issue. In fact ***** the Midwest representative compared the ultradeck product to a garden hose. Decking material should be similar to wood, as they advertise on their website listed below. I have requested a supervisor over 10 times and ***** refuses to provide me with his boss. I have emailed over 20 photos. Those photos include the warped boards laying flat on cement and the warping clearly visible which ***** has refused to comment on. Other photos show boards installed and also warped. Other photos show the spacing of the support beams to demonstrate all instructions have been followed based on their guidelines. At the end of the day Ultradeck is not honoring their guarantee for their faulty and defected materials. I have had several contractors at my house to review the deck and they all have confirmed that the problem is ultradeck products and that they see warping all the time with ultradeck. If BBB were to review other consumer complaints on various consumer advocacy websites, you will see that this is not unique to me but actually a known problem. Until Midwest manufacturing is held responsible for honoring their product guarantee and faulty products they will continue to take advantage of and mislead customers to believing this product is durable when it is not and at some point someone will get hurt as a result of their KNOWN product defects. I pray my kids dont get hurt as a result of this warping. I refuse to let them on the deck because tripping on the warped boards that make it easy to trip/loosing your footing on. But Midwest best believe if that occurs it will be plastered all over the news with documentation showing an innocent 4 year old was injured as a result of their known defective boards.

Below is from their website (I dont see their boards being described as a hose on their webpage. Had ***** or another Midwest manufacturing employee explained their boards are like garden hoses and unstable I would not have considered this product for my decking needs.) : https://www.ultradeck.com/UltradeckWebsite/whyUltraDeck.do
Our unique combination of recycled wood and quality resins results in a product engineered with unyielding resistance to Mother Nature's harshest conditions. UltraDeck will not split or warp and is built to withstand rotting, fungal decay, and insect infestation.

The sweep for the 32' door is excepted. The problem is who will install it. i have already paid to have the door professionally installed.  The 32' and 36'' door were purchase at the same time . the 32' door did not brake like the 36' door did. I believe the 36' door may have been dry rotted from sitting doing the Covid when merchandise was not being sold. I purchased these doors shortly after  the stores reopened after covid and the wood broke shortly after that. . No one came to my home to inspect the doors to know for sure what the problem was to cause the wood to brake the way it did. All i am asking for is a replacement door for the one that is broken.
