We had ****** swap a motor in our **** Jeep Wrangler. We paid him $1,031.00. He was referred to us by *********************** salvage where we bought the motor. We noticed the Ac lines were not hooked up and that there were screws missing out of the front bumper cover. We called him and left messages, which we would not respond to. We then drove to the shop and tried talking to him there. He tried telling us that they were missing but then admitted he forgot to put it back together. He said he didn't want to deal with it. We left as he refused to rectify the problem. After we returned home we thought we should look at the rest of the work he did as he seemed negligent. We found further evidence that we have pictures of that this indeed was the case. There were no nuts on the motor mount bolts, the bottom of the oil pan was smashed, some of the intake manifold bolts were missing, the inspection plate off the transmission was gone, the wires from the O2 sensor were twisted and almost broke,AC lines not hooked up,screws missing out of bumper cover. Keep in mind this rendered the vehicle unsafe to drive now. Since we got nowhere with ****** we called ********* as they referred him. They agreed this was unacceptable and tried to contact him. He again didn't return their messages either and so *********(from Morriosns) drove to the shop to talk to him. She said he admitted to her he screwed up and would contact us to get the jeep back in to fix. We heard nothing for 3 days. My husband ***** finally called and asked him what was going on. He agreed to fix the oil pan but when we questioned him on the rest of the work that needed to be done he kept saying that was all alleged and ********. We told him we have pictures to prove it was not done correctly and he got more and more agitated to the point of swearing and screaming at my husband and then hung up on him. At this point we don't trust him to work on our vehicle anymore. Please help us and thank you for listening.

I did the engine change for Mr. **** on his **** Jeep Wrangler. I swapped the engine and used the best of both parts when installing. He bought his own motor, and extra parts he wanted installed and also wanted front and rear seals in the drive axles replaced. A couple weeks later he stops in telling me the nuts were missing off the A/C lines which I remembered when he mentioned it that I was going to put a couple nuts in there. The bumper cover thingy he is complaining about I never touched that piece. I was going to try to set up a time for him to bring back in but he said he would deal with it then left. A few days later I got a voice mail at 8:15pm  with him going on about other things he had found. Evidently he had been texting with ********* sales person after her work hours also complaining about the oil pan being dented because she called me the next afternoon saying they were getting him a new oil pan and to have me set up a time to have him bring it in. I called him and told him about the new pan and set it up for a Tuesday and I would check on his other complaints at that time.. He says " I have a list of things" I said yes I hear your BS on the voicemail, get it in here and I want to verify what you are saying. I also instructed him on where to park his vehicle because of ongoing concrete work going on in our parking lot. " I`ll just park where I did last time" I told him again about the construction and didn`t wanting it parked stupid and get possible towed away. He said "Don`t have to get angry with me"  I replied " I`m trying to warn you about stuff going on here, and I`m not the one calling and texting people after work hours complaining about things" Then I hung up and didn`t hear anything more until this letter. Also I have 2 of his voice mails recorded if needed.

I have ran this shop on my own since **** and have always remedied any situation that might have came up. Also being a one-man shop I can`t just jump when someone says, it might be a couple days before I have an open spot to get a person in for repairs. After 18 years in business I have a pretty loyal following and very few complaints. If anything I usually spend twice the amount of time doing a job then what any labor guide says, just to make sure things are done correctly. We all have a day here and there but if he had come to me with issues in a little different manner (instead of demanding), this letter wouldn`t be necessary.

                                                    Thanks for your time,

                                                             ******

Well I did offer Mr **** to bring the vehicle back and I would inspect his concerns. Being the honest guy that I am I would have taken care of it. His demanding voicemails kind of put me off a bit tho. I put the best of the 2 oil pans on (his old one was really rusted) with a new gasket. Small dents are very common on Jeeps unless they never go off road so I didnt worry about that!! *********************** had said they would get him a better oil pan and have me install, but he never showed up. So the oil pan charges are none of my concern, thats between him and *********!! So from what I can see on the invoice is that I owe him for A/C lines reconnected and nuts on the mount bolts and maybe shop supplies. I will even be generous and give him a whole 100 if thats ok!!!  Plus someone showed me that he had it for sale on Marketplace for 3 times what its worth,so if he sold it I have no obligation on anything!!!!

    Race response to ******'s reply.
We refuse to waste any more time arguing with ****** as he is unreasonable ,unreliable and doesn't back up his work. We did come to him directly and even brought the jeep back to his shop and he refused to look at it. He is not an honest guy because if he was -he would have apologized profusely and made it right that day which was May 8, 2023.
We have proof In pictures that back up are claims. The bottom of the oil pan was smashed to the point it affected how the oil read on the dipstick- 1 quart high.
For everyone's sake I suggest we stick to the facts. We paid scotty *************** to do the motor swap. He had the Jeep for 2 weeks. He then contacted us and told us it was ready. We paid by phone and picked it up.He let us leave with our vehicle that was unsafe to drive. When we discovered his shotty work- We tried to contact him for resolution by phone. He avoided and refused to return our phone calls, which he obviously got if he saved our voicemails. We showed up at his garage and he denied any wrongdoing and refused to look at the jeep. We peacefully left and contacted morrisons where we bought the motor from. For the next 3 weeks we were unable to drive our vehicle until we could get it into another more reputable garage that we trusted to fix and finish the jeep.
****** is absolutely delusional if he thinks he can reimburse us only a $100.00 and call this all good. We need to be compensated for the bill to ***************,which was almost five hundred dollars that we had to pay because of his negligence. This is us being generous as we could take him to small claims court for the additional costs we incurred. This includes but is not limited to; us being without our vehicle, lost wages and time from work, additional bills and stress and aggravation from dealing with **********************
As far as ****** bringing up that he was told we were selling the jeep. Let me set the record straight. We had to have the jeep inspected and make sure it was road worthy and safe  whether we were driving it or selling it after he "worked" on it. Unlike ************, we are good and  honest people who would not endanger others for our monetary benefit. Anyways this has no bearing what so ever on this case.  This is just another attempt by him to pass the buck and refuse to take responsibility for his actions.
Since he is refusing to work on this with us in a productive and civil manner, we are disputing the charges with our bank. We tried on many occasions and our patience has run out.
Thank you for trying to mediate this. matter.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out.

I`m not going to go back and forth with this person, evidently there is no reasoning with him. *********************** did get him another oil pan and It wouldn`t have cost him anything to have me put it on and look at his other complaints, but he chose to take it somewhere else! I never said I wouldn`t fix things, that`s a lie!!! I have been in business as a one man show since ****, over **** work orders on file.. No other BBB complaints or any court filings against me for anything. And telling me that I am unreasonable, unreliable, delusional, and refuse to take responsibility  is no way to get anything accomplished. The only reason I have his voicemails is because one was at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon and the other at 8:30 at night, sorry I`m not 24/7 here!!  I`m done with him. Maybe he can learn to handle situations like this a little differently!!
