    We hired Mide International in May of 2024 to stain our outside deck. At the beginning, *** was very responsive and would communicate decent. The nature of the job was to fix some boards that were rotting before staining the deck. We talked through the color and I said I wanted it to match what was previously on the deck, a light reddish brown. It took them a couple of visits before the wood pieces were replaced and I didn't know when they were going to start staining. I work from home but I look out and they stained the deck a solid very orange brown color. We never gave sign off or was shown what the color would be before they put the stain on the deck.When we went out to see the finished product I was still in shock and my husband was convincing me to like it that we signed off on the project and I gave them the check. I couldn't sleep that night and I called the next morning and said that the color is not what we had discussed and that I didn't like it. *** got very angry over the phone and said that it was the color that I choose but I stood firm and said it was not. We never looked at color swatches to pick out a color and I was never shown what he bought.He agreed to change the color but since we wanted a lighter color, they would first need to prime the deck white before staining it the lighter color that we choose (he came with color swatches for us to pick out our stain color and I signed the color we want).In the beginning of June they painted our deck white and they still haven't come out to stain it the color we want. *** takes weeks to respond and doesn't come out on the days he promised. We either want our money back or for them to finish the job. I don't know what to do anymore.

    I am not sure if I am supposed to give updates on my complaint but Mide International did come back and paint our deck but they painted it the exact same color as before. We are going to leave it because clearly they cannot do the job correctly. It is not the sample color that he showed my husband but unfortunately my husband didn't take a picture of the same color.
    However, there is some white from the primer stage that shows up in between the cracks of the deck and there is one spot on the pergola that they completely missed. I messaged him back asking for them to correct it and he replied okay but haven't heard anything else and I am tired of trying to contact him. I know he is having health problems and I think he was planning on leaving the country to get better.
