I have an issue the security and over all safety of the apartment building in which I currently reside in at **************** ********** wi.. My storage unit which is located in the basement of the complex was recently burglarized, A police report was filed with the janesville PD. numerous items were taken/stolen. I made contact with walker property management with very little concern from them. It is supposed to be a secure building but is anything but. The outside "secure" doors do NOT lock which they claim do so anyone at any time can walk right in and do as they please. I would greatly like to resolve this issue. thank you.Initial Complaint

I placed a maintenance request weeks ago because of my kitchen sink/garbage disposal. The garbage disposal is broken and the sink, even though the water turns on, it doesn't drain properly. It drains so slowly I've stopped using it out of fear it's going to stop draining all together. They cancelled the maintenance request the next day with no explanation and no attempt at communicating with me. I placed another one for the same issue with the kitchen sink. Then I placed another one because now there are mice leaving droppings (feces) in my kitchen drawers. Since then it has been left on "received". I have called multiple times and been sent to voicemail. I have left messages on the voicemail and never received a call, text or email back. At this point it is now a health hazard because of the mice f**** and the mold that is now growing out of the sink. Since they are completely ignoring me I am now reaching out on this platform for help.Initial Complaint

My lease is due 12/31/24. I wanted to get out of my lease 7/1/24. I wanted to add person to my lease, but used the term sublet/sublease. In the renters contract it states that one can sublease with approval of management. I was informed that they do not do this. I told them I wanted to do what I did, which was be added to the lease. I was told to have person apply for this. I showed the apt. and had a few people apply for this. However, they were turned down. I was told that I needed to put in a notice to terminate. I did this, not realizing that when I did this that it was not what I wanted. I have since been informed that I need to pay rent either until the end of December or when they get someone to rent the apartment. However, they have not even listed the apartment on their website. I also had a few people that wanted to rent the apartment and had already placed applications, which they turned down. My dispute is that there were people who placed applications before I even left the apartment and the management also has not even placed the apartment up for rent. I feel that I should not be responsible for ongoing rent if they aren't even attempting to rent the property.Initial Complaint

I have lived at this house almost 6 years Walker property management has been the landlord theyve been the rules to accommodate themselves. I submitted a letter to them and letting them know that I have a lawyer they do not fix things at a timely fashion my garage doors have been broken the whole time I have lived here. They constantly charge me an eviction fee every single time Im late on the rent, they dont fix things for years at a time but they always seemingly want their rent paid. They preach communication and they are **** poor at communicating. They charged me because I asked them to have a plumber come out because every spring my pipes are full of issues because of the rain and overflow. They charged me an almost $600 bill never showed me the bill didnt even bother to tell me about it and just tacked it onto my rent and when I called them they said oh weve been busy theres never an apology. I have called **** over 30 times and he will not return any of my phone calls and they tell me I must speak to **** about the maintenance. I have stopped up there and he is conveniently not there because he wont look at me face-to-face , Ive had all I can take and Im ready to physically snap. I would like the garage doors fixed and I would like a refund. They have charged me $30 every month if Im late on rent they have not fixed the garage doors the whole time Ive lived there so for the 5 1/2 months at $30 a month they owe me roughly $2600.00. I want to be repaid for the plumbing I want to be repaid for the late fee for not fixing the garage doors for 5 1/2 years plus they didnt fix the ceiling tiles for 9 1/2 months which is another couple hundred dollars on top of the 2600. I wanted it all in one payment because thats how theyve done me.. I do not want it broke up over a year. I do want the garage doors fixed and I want the option to stay here until June , I am in the process of looking for a new place to live, and I will be taking them to court if you cannot get my money back and I want an apology.It cost me $3000 to have my 2018 RAV4 rewired from the mice infestation because this is the shittiest company Ive ever dealt with in my life. The office women make all the decisions and if you **** them off they will ruin your life.. and this is only one email Im showing you that Ive sent to them over the years. I have multiple documentations of me submitting garage doors that need to be fixed.. that they delete off of their maintenance page.Initial Complaint

I rented an apartment from ********************************* apt 12 in ******** **. I got my security deposition letter stating that they was taking half of my deposit and only giving me 662 back. They are charging me for damages that was already done to the apartment prior to me moving in. I cleaned the entire apartment before i left and have video proof. They are charging me For a window screen that already had duct tape on it when I moved in. I also have a charge stating for a toilet seat that was not broken in fact they gave me a crappy toilet seat when I moved in so I left it on. Then I got a charge for the drip pans for the stove and they have gave me ********** when I moved in. I have video proof of my Entire apartment being clean and every thing working properly. I am seeking my full refund back. As they are charging me with someone else damages. Based on review this is not their first time. I want my money back. Walker Property Management manages the house I live in. I have outstanding issues from as far back as May 2023. Most recently, my air conditioner broke, and my house temperature has been as high as 82 degrees. I filed a maintenance request last Saturday (8/26) and have called repeatedly. No response whatsoever. I'm also repeatedly re-entering the maintenance requests. I've learned that what they do is **** the request as canceled or completed when nothing was actually done.Here's the list of outstanding issues:Air conditioner not working (req 8/26/2023)Garage door handled caving into garage door (req 5/19/2023)Retaining wall falling into neighbor's yard (req 7/10/2023)Deck boards rotten; falling through the boards (req 5/22/2023)Missing screens (5/22/2023)I've filed a complaint with the ********* DATCP. I moved into my apartment building owned by Walker Property Management August 19, 2015. I have had little to no issues except for them neglecting to fix my ** unit. I submitted the original maintenance request: "The a/c unit seems to be leaking into wall wetting up the carpet in the area under air conditioning.Requested by You on 07/29/2021 3:21PM Maintenance Request #*****-1 This request was completed on 07/29/2021." The maintenance person said he fixed it but the ** kept leaking, causing moldy carpets and the wall deterioration. It was so hot outside that we needed to use the ** even though it leaked. I tried purchasing make shift ** units that would could small areas but nothing worked. I eventually submitted another maintenance request with pictures of how the wall was deteriorating and causing mold. The new request "CANCELED Our a/c unit is leaking again. A maintenance guy came last year when we felt the carpet was wet, there was no visible damage at the time and the a/c seemed to work fine after he fixed it. We have had the couch against this wall and moved it this weekend to find the wallpaper falling off and visible wet wall and floor.Requested by You on 07/05/2022 10:59AM Maintenance Request #*****-1 This request was canceled on 11/10/2022." The request was canceled without any reason why.I am frustrated because I can't afford to move, the landlord clearly refuses to fix the issue their maintenance person failed to fix. I'm having troubles getting maintenance to resolve issues that have been going on at weeks/months at a time. I have proof of me reaching out and getting to the point I deny paying rent til things are resolved.Business Response

We apologize for the delay, we believe this complaint crossed paths with the repairs, and has since been resolved with the tenant.
To our knowledge, all maintenance issues the tenant had reported were repaired and completed.
Although we hope this is not the case, we have reached out to the tenant to see if there are additional issues remaining.

I have been renting through WPM for a year and a half, currently living in a 1 bedroom apartment with myself, my boyfriend and 2 children. Ive been begging for them to switch us into a bigger 2 or 3 bedroom home and they keep denying us even though we live on one of their properties already. Also we have a leaky toilet that no one ever came to fix since we moved in last year and we have a black mold issue that keeps popping up even after we clean it. We ask for them to move us out of the apartment because this is a health issue and they insist we stay here. I feel like this is a racial issue going on. Theyve given me racist vibes since I signed my lease in January 2021. I just want to know what the real issue is with us being able to move into a house that fits my family and is safe to live in.Business Response

We received your complaint regarding our lack of response to your request to move to a larger unit. I have downloaded the text message thread that shows our leasing agent, ***** has indeed been in contact with you and has been working with you to try to find a larger unit. Unfortunately, at this time, our options and availability for units is extremely limited.
In response to your maintenance issue with mold, we did receive a maintenance request which we responded to on April 1st, 2022 - we cleaned the mildew (not black mold), left you with the remainder of the cleaner, and you had stated to our maintenance tech that you would be purchasing a dehumidifier. We did not hear anything after that, no work requests were submitted, so we were not aware that this was still an issue. I have also attached a copy of that work order to this response for your
The toilet leaking was not addressed during our time there for repairs, it was not brought up while we were there, so we were not aware this was still an issue. We have since entered a new work order and we will address this as soon as possible.
As for the remarks about racism, this is completely uncalled for. At no point have we shown any type of racism towards this you or your family. We have tenants of all ethnicities and backgrounds, and feel we treat all of our tenants equally and respectfully.
I am truly sorry you feel we have ignored your requests. Please reach out to our office if you have additional requests. And please submit a maintenance request immediately for any issues you are having.
