Brought Vehicle after incident to the purchasing dealership for investigation of damages.Explained my symptoms and the situation and requested them to investigate for potential internal engine damage. They did not evaluate the oil or check the filter for any metal contaminants or potential damage. They did not remove the Oil plug to investigate scoring inside of the seal to indicate a weakened mating surface, indicating a potential cause. They informed me that work would be covered by power train warranty, to which i said fantastic. I did not however realize that meant they were changing the narrative of the report as it went to Equifax( After market power train warranty company). They told me that no internal damage was found, and they could go ahead with replacing the oil pan gasket seal (which was never in question). I then removed my car from their department because I didn't believe they had my best interest at heart. After leaving I realized they had not checked the oil, filter, or internal pathways for metal contaminate. I then brought the vehicle to ***************** in ***********, **. They did scope the engine, Inspect the oil filter, inspect the oil itself, and inspect the bearings for raceway scoring. Damage was found in all instances. Because of the original claims from Lynch Chevrolet, my insurance company is denying my claim for damages. The service visit to lynch Chevrolet appears to demonstrate a level of negligence and dishonesty as I believe they were trying to manipulate the power train warranty to fit their negative and deny my damages. They apparently did not do anything more then check the oil on my dip-stick, which I replaced, on camera, in front of a police officer, on dashcam, that can be found in the respective police report, and I informed them of. I would like them to admit that they did not perform the level of inspection requested and paid for with a chief complaint of INTERNAL engine damage. Their service level was insulting.

I have a signed work request from customer stating their concerns as they stated to our service department, speaking with my service tech there were signs of a leak from oil pan which was approved to be covered under warranty. With oil pan removed inspection could have been completed on the lower of the motor at that time which would have shown if metal shavings were in the motor as they would have been attached to magnet at bottom of pan . Customer declined and wanted to take to a **** store. Nothing further was attempted.  As far as we reported to Equifax we do not, data is automatically pulled by ** on service worked performed at our dealership as we are a Franchise for them, if they report that is unknown to me at this time. Speaking with warranty company it is the customers concerns comments from the previous history they requested that are causing a decline with warranty company.

On 4/20/23 I took my car to ********************** for minor trans slippage and hard downshifting. I was contacted and told I had a bad trans valve body and TCM. 5/6/23 after repair I picked up the car with a bill of *******. June 15th the trans went out completely. My car was towed to **********************. I was informed by the service rep that my trans was "blown". Both the rep and the ************ suggested a new trans because they couldn't guarantee the level of damage inside the trans. I agreed and told them I wanted to apply the money I already spent to a new trans. I was told that decision had to go through the General Manger *******************. I spoke with ******************* and all he wanted to do was to keep working on the old trans and apply some of what I spent already to the ongoing repairs. I told ******************* that I drive 102 miles a day on **** to and from work. I was concerned for my safety with trying to repair the old trans and it just stopping on me again. I was told by ******************* "so if your motor acts up, I should just put a new motor in? He then proceeded to tell me that they are in the business of making money! Buyer ******* ********** at Lynch Chevrolet of Kenosha is not concerned about your safety. *********************** only concern is the bottom line and profit. I sent several letters to ******* ********************** at each of his locations and never heard anything back. So, either Mr. ********************** never got any of those letters or he possibly subscribes to the same thinking as his managers and just isn't concerned about anything but profit. You decide for yourself, I took a car in that had some trans slippage and after paying ******* ended up having a blown trans and a car I couldn't drive. Then I had the car towed from ********************** to a reputable shop and had a new transmission put in my car a lot cheaper and with the ** warranty that ******************* told me was impossible to get and that I was lying to him. That is an incredible way to treat a customer that had purchased two new ********************* and one used vehicle from them.

I attempted to be a loyal customer that is why I brought my car to ********************** in the first place. I trusted that Lynch would do their best to repair my car not make it worse. I trusted *********** work and ended up on the side of the road. I tried to negotiate a new transmission with someone that thinks bullying techniques actually work. You wanted to play around in my old transmission and let me be the test driver to see if it was fixed or not. You ignored the advice of your Service rep and your Transmission tech that both felt that a new transmission was warranted. Loyal or not I wasn't going to write you a blank check so you could "maybe" find out what the trans problem was. If I wasn't loyal as you state, then why did I buy three vehicles from your store and bring in a car that wasn't purchased from Lynch for repair. If the fact it had ******* highway miles on it bothered you, then you should have denied doing the repair not try and throw it back in my face because you were unable to repair it. You really need to be more creative with your answers.

My many Thanks to the BBB for their assistance. I HAVE NO INTENTION of closing out this complaint. My goal is to make sure that Lynch Chevrolet of Kenosha's bad business practices are seen by anyone questioning doing business with them. Potential customers need to be properly informed as I was not. Had I had the ability to view a complaint of this nature I would have thought twice about buying vehicles from them or even bringing my car to them for repair. Lynch may not like it, but it is the right of every potential customer to be aware of both sides of a story. In my opinion Lynch Chevrolet of Kenosha is represented by management that has no concern or care for the customer or the customers safety. That is why I will leave this complaint open for as long as I can and allow potential customers to make an educated decision.

On 11/30/2022 I brought my 2011 ***** Silverado to Lynch of Kenosha in November to have all the lifters replaced and paid $3828.97. In July lifter #7 failed and I brought it back to Lynch who told me I needed a VLOM to fix the problem, I paid $810.81 on 07/14/2023. They also fixed lifter #7 because it was still under warranty. On 08/04/2023 lifter #7 failed again and I brought it back to Lynch and they told me I needed new fuel injectors to fix the problem, I had it towed to a different mechanic to save some money and paid $957.86 on 08/21/2023. I brought the vehicle back to Lynch on 08/22/2023 to have lifter #7 fixed again. After all of this I received a call from **** the service manager stating "We don't know what's wrong and we suggest a whole new engine for $9500". It sounds like they never really knew what was wrong with my vehicle and were just taking my money. I feel I was taken advantage of and no solution is being offered.

Dealership hard checked by credit report 3 times as I told him that I would finance through NavyFed as it was saturday afternoon. I needed to pick up check on monday after work to pay off the dealership. Finance manager continue to file paperwork that mixed in my return of lease paperwork to buy truck. Dealership hide the sale price of vehicle in glove compartment after sale was completed. I called DMV and Summit about issue that it was up to the dealership to cancel the summit loan since they cashed the NavyFed check already. The dealership did not obey WI three day cooling off period nor listen to me about I had contacted Navy Federal for car loan. Dealership proceeds to continue with their Summit credit union to pull money from them and also cash Navy Federal credit union check on one vehicle as well as increase the price on 25K base model vehicle. They had to option to cancel summit but choose to get paid twice on one vehicle.

    Business Response

there is no 3 day cooling off period when you take delivery from a dealerships showroom only at a remote sale.... customer agreed to the finance with us to take delivery, signed all documents, left with the vehicle and then return on Monday threw a check at us and said figure this out and left. the check has never been cashed and we have asked the customer to come get his check, we have a legal binding contract with customer and the lending institution.   If he decided over the weekend to go a different route he needs to work that out with the lender in the form of mailing them the check when they will accept it.

as far as price in glove box. we place all the pricing labels that where on the vehicle prior to purchase during delivery so customer has them to reference. customer had access to suggested retail pricing on the vehicle prior to purchase, as it is clearly posted as per state law

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
    1. I did not consent nor agree to any audio or video recordings. I did not see any signs for this as well. I did not see any wording for Summit as my lendor as I told him I was going to use Navy Federal for the car loan nor did I want any products as I needed total price.
    2. I am disabled veteran with PTSD that my intent was to turn in my leased ***** due to my lower back pain for a Pre-owned 2017 Chevrolet Silverado Work Truck listed online as Lynch EASY PRICE $25,781 plus service fee of $499, then tax title and license.
    3. Clearly this entire management team plays poker as they did not want to cancel the ******************* loan application and redo a lien name change by filling out the ********* MV-1 nor take my full payment (Navy Federal check) on monday Aug.21.
    4. Clearly I told **** my credit score and my rate were lower at Navy Federal, but he did not listen to me as he must be under dealership contract to "find a lender" on his own under this video and audio recording. I was emailed 7 times by (1) openlane, (2) Chevrolet, (4)OnStar and 3 credit alerts during my ice wait to finalize the deal then loads of paperwork in order to leave with another vehicle.
    5. Lynch Kenosha had no intent on this WORK truck sale of $25,781 online to me for my leased 2021 ***** Trailblazer, nor did Lynch Kenosha provide me the Carfax during the sale as it was provided by Navy Federal credit union for my car loan.
    6. I did not agree to refinance as my intention was solely Navy Federal, but the contract price and online price are clearly different that threw off my mindset as why was the vehicle price was different, what is this paper work for and what happens with the car lease release and how am I to get home as I brought $1,000 down to hold over until monday?
    7. I was allowed to go back to my home to get my second FOB and proof of car insurance for the Trailblazer since I was returning it; to get into another vehicle to drive off from the ** used car lot NOT the showroom. [This part of a dealership is called the showroom. These models are our latest and greatest vehicles, with remarkable performances, style, and features. By showcasing them front and center, customers have the opportunity to experience them firsthand before taking them on the road for a test drive.]
    8. I contacted Summit credit union directly on Monday, Aug.21 as they clearly stated it was up to the dealership to cancel the loan application. Lynch Kenosha Dealership did not wait for me to come bring this full payment check as they intended on submission of their car loan application with ill intent that I would simply refinance my loan with three products that I did not want.
    9. Nor I did not agree for the dealership to perform three hard credit checks on 8/19 when I told him my credit score was over 800! This is to be fixed by Lynch Kenosha!
    10. Lynch Kenosha present false advertising to military veteran as $500 discounts only apply to NEW vehicles, not found anywhere or documentation as only the management poker team knows.
    11. I was not sold Lynch EASY PRICE $25,781 nor given a Carfax clearly documented by audio and video. I will provide my Carfax from Navy Federal instead since Lynch Kenosha did NOT when I left to go home to get second FOB.
    12. Easy solution - was to cancel this *********** loan and three products with Ethos both via phone calls as many other U.S. companies throughout *** and world wide can do. They had full payment in their hands less refund $4,101 and fill out MV1 for WI DMV on Monday, Aug. 21.

    13. Instead, Lynch Kenosha management team have no critical thinking skills and they cannot put their ego aside as they choose to make this very hard, stressful, difficult and wasteful waiting 7 to *********************************************************************************************** saturday evening. They had my lease return, $1,000.00 cash and I was recorded to bring back Navy Fed check on monday, clearly 'no watching out for fellow veteran' occurred. There is no time allotted to add or subtract from this deal as in poker. The reduction of the three products reduces the sales tax which there is money to be return that could have been used for the lien title change fee. Instead now Lynch has to write a check to $4,101 to ******************* so that I can close out that unneeded and unwanted account then NOW refinance a car loan through Navy Fderal credit union. Lest not forget the daily interest rate as we wait for Ethos to refund the $4,101 to Lynch to send check to Summit as refund. Now we wait for Ethos refund as I am FORCED into REFINANCING by Lynch Kenosha sales and management teams.

    Regards,

customer is more than welcome to schedule an appointment with me so I can refresh his memory with the audio and video recording.

for the Carfax we have no legal obligations to supply him with one he can purchase that on his own if he would like to have that information prior to the purchase of any vehicle. He was however provided an Autocheck on the history of the vehicle which we provide free of charge on every used vehicle

with everything being electronic and electronic signatures now a days its not as easy as one might  think to just undo a deal because the customer wants to go a different direction. License and titling is completed before the customers leaves the office as well as sometimes funding from the lender.  Yes we do have  ways to unwind a deal but it does incur costs to us, which those costs are then past on to the customer as per ********* Buyers Order disclaimer below the signature line, in the form of a restocking fee.

we did cancel the Ethos products that he had agreed to buy at time of purchase and those monies will be credited to his Summit account.

for the pricing, the customer signed 3 separate times agreeing to the price of the vehicle, I would be willing to refund him the difference once his Summit account is closed or I can refund it Summit as it at this moment Summits money

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

It has been 9 business days of waiting for this misleading car sale loan application and 3 products cancellations that would simply been avoid Aug. 21. with a phone call to ******************* as advised by ******************************* and *********************************** said," that the dealership could have made a phone call to cancel this loan application on Aug. 21." As Navy Federal was able to void the Aug. 21 auto loan check  then cancel this used car loan electronically, then I could refinance with another car loan electronically after the ******************* cashed in that used car loan payment for Lynch Kenosha took payment from Summit credit union, instead of my Navy Federal credit union.

NOW we are waiting for Lynch Kenosha and Ethos to refund the money of $4,101.00 to ******************* to close out this unneeded car loan before the daily interest rate incur on Sept. 4.

This misleading cancellation process of **** business days was not disclosed until Aug. 21 for these 3 product refund of money to Summit credit union. Lynch Kenosha does not allow for any contractual changes while other banks and financial institutes allow with customers, zero respect for military retiree and misleading ads about military discounts pertain to only $500 for new vehicles. Lynch Kenosha is not in ****, ** nor ***. And alternating or editing customer audio and video is against the law.

To be fair, I expected TWO refunds from Lynch Kenosha for the 3 Ethos cancelled products of $4,101 in progress and $5,100 from Lynch Kenosha for the repair costs of the cracks on the windshield, dented quarter panel, scratch front passenger rim, dent right hand on rear bumper and time wasted driving around to redo this botched car deal.

I purchased a 2019 ***** Cruise listed as Certified Pre Owned from Lynch Chevrolet on May 24th 2022. I waited delivery on the vehicle for a week as I was promised heated seats and the salesman said they needed to put breaks on it as well. I was in a desperate situation as my prior vehicle was broke down and not repairable, I live in ******************** ********* but work in Lake County ********, so I made the decision to get a certified pre owned from what I thought was a good dealership. I work construction so had to come after work to pick up the vehicle. I assumed the seats had been installed as the salesman (******). Assured me they had.. they werent. Next I brought it in for a whistling noise and water all over the floor inside the vehicle, they said it was a clogged hose but the whistling continued and had to bring it back in because the cooling system didnt work, they found nothing wrong and charged me. Both times, I had to rent a car as they had no loaners as promised upon delivery of my vehicle. Now, I still have the same whistling noise, brought it somewhere else to get looked at, was informed that the *** inside the valve cover is plugged causing the whistling noise and they immediately saw that the intercooler was smashed and the cover replaced, indicating that the vehicle had been in an accident at some point and they just replaced the plastic cover on it. Lynch refuses to talk to me saying the car has too many miles on it now. The damage to the intercooler is very noticeable and could not be missed had they actually done an inspection.

A trade may be an option if offered an acceptable amount for the trade considering you sold me a damaged vehicle and labeled as a Certified Pre Owned.   I find it extremely hard to believe none of your mechanics saw this when they had it on the rack, I believe you intentionally sold me this Vehicle knowingly as I was in a desperate situation for transportation and being a female certainly adds to your ability to deceive me.   I definitely planned to trade it in for something with heated seats which is pretty much the only option I told ****** that I wanted but now that Im aware of the pre existing damage to the vehicle, a reputable dealer wouldnt give me much for it.   I had NO INTENTION of returning to Lynch Chevrolet for a second time, you never gave me a chance to lube up the first time!

I had traded my 2 vehicles. A 2012 ***** Odyssey and a 2016 ***** Cruze to purchase a 2019 dodge Grand caravan the van already had 55 or 56 thousand miles on it. Which I was fine with but 1 day after purchasing I mentioned it felt like there were transmission issues they took a look at it and told me that the little jerk when pressing in the gas is normal for dodge caravans and to not worry. Well here we are about 4 to 5 months later and the transmission is completely done for I work 2 jobs and I am a single mother of 6 kids I cannot afford to be paying 600 a month for a NON working vehicle when I had already told them when I bought it I felt it had transmission issues I have called several times in the last 2 days and keep getting told I have to speak with someone else because it is NOT their department. I've talked to a manager named **** and another guy names ***** who said he will relay the message to another manager name **** or *******. It's been 2 days without this vehicle and all I've been told was to get it to them to fix it but that I may have to pay out of pocket because the power train warranty expired at 60 thousand miles which NOBODY told me about when I purchased this vehicle in February of 2022. I would like to get this resolved because 27 thousand dollars is a lot to be paying for a non working vehicle.

At this time we are not pursuing any action with the repair of the vehicle.  Customer was offered an extended warranty at time of purchase and declined. Customer signed buyers order at time of purchase  that vehicle had no warranty from us and was as-is .   Customer has spoken with my management staff and voiced her concerns and at last conversation she was going to seek an attorney.
