I pulled my Consumer reports from (Equifax, *************************************** and I notice Marine Credit Union has furnished an account there as a charge off. A charge off is a cancelled debt.Where a form 1099C must be issued to me, but Marine Credit Union continue to conceal 1099C (cancellation of Debt) from me, stating Marine Credit Union still can collect on a cancelled debt. The collection on a cancelled debt that has been charge off constitutes tax fraud and the matter will be reported to the **** I still demand the statement of account and the *****.

      Business response

      05/10/2024

Member requesting that Marine Credit Union edit his credit report to remove a charged off debt, as he believes that a charged off debt means that debt is cancelled and therefore, he is no longer responsible for that debt.  This is not the case. A charged off debt does not equal a cancelled debt; therefore the member is still held responsible for that debt. Marine Credit union will not edit the member's credit report, as the data reported is accurate.

      Thank you.

I was notified yesterday about my account being hacked where 360 was being attempted on taken out of my account. I disputed this asap. It was processing yesterday. Today it ended up being taken out of my account even though it was blocked and I got a new card. I notified them of this and still am not getting my money back in which this was money I had saved up to take my family on vacation this weekend. Very unsatisfied and felt as tho it is not getting resolved. I just want my money back that was taken from me when I did everything I was supposed to do and they should have blocked the charges while it was processing.

When we spoke with the member she didn't think the fraudulent charges would actually post to her account, but they did.  The merchant said the amount would be credited back to her account, but that it would take ***** business days.  The member needed the money prior to that time, so we issued a credit to the member's account to get her by until the reimbursement came. Member was pleased with this outcome and we now consider this matter closed.

      Thank you.

I was called by Marine Credit in regard to an insurance policy payment back in July. I told it was already added to existing automatic payments when I was called in June. Their phone calls state they're recorded, yet when I was contacted for the second time within the last week of July, I was told they had no record that the call was ever made, but my payment was late. There's no logic in saying the payment is late contradicting their statement that I was never called beforehand. I have the email from the first phone call where they confirmed that the payment was added to my automatic payment. A week later I noticed my credit score drop drastically and I looked into it to see where it was from; a late car payment. I called Marine Credit and talked to customer service and was told that the first late payment wasn't paid but the second one was added to the automatic payments. So I told her what happened and finally made the payment of $250. I told the lady that I was confused as to how the automatic payments were put to start paying on the second payment, making me still "late" on the first. Afterward, I called Transunion and made the report. They got back to me and let me know that Marine Credit DENIED my report. I then contacted their manager of the payments from their ********* location and I was told a case file was made, we exchanged emails through the phone call. She reached out twice saying there was a wait on the process, I said okay and that I would give it time and just reach out to see where the process is heading. I sent a last email weeks ago and it was never answered. My credit score and my partner's credit score dropped almost 100 points due to a company's errors, and undiligent system.

I was reached out to by a *********************** who asked to combine all of our loans. We said no then changed our minds October 2022. When combing our loan so spoke with ***** on the phone and she said several times that once our truck part was payed off we would get the title for it. When we need the title for the truck we were told we needed to pay 25k. We were shocked when speaking with ******************************* and she said thats why ***** no longer works in the department since she told customers the wrong things. I have spoken to different banks and they said if you were told that they need to keep their word. We payed off the 25k when we sold our truck and now they redid the loan with a higher interest rate. ****** said our rate would be the same and now it went up. We have been told that they are unable to release only one title that we should have gotten all of them. That they cant redue them. We are getting very frustrated with this.

We were able to discuss this matter over the phone with the member during which time she outlined concerns regarding inconsistent communication.  After our discussion we were able to talk to all parties involved and provide corrective coaching. We will also continue to review our processes to improve and avoid similar issues in the future. During our conversation we discussed that the requested refund was processed.

In 2013 I got a home mortgage through Marine Credit Union which had an office/bank in ******* *** at the time. This was a 10 yr mortgage. i also set up an escrow account so the taxes and house insurance were paid each yr. The bank cut checks for those in Dec. of each yr. Fast forward to Dec. 2020. I get notice from my home insurance that I'm going into default because it hasn't been paid. I call Marine and get a lady on the line. She informs me that the mortgage got so low they took my escrow account and paid it off early. I told her I was never notified that this was being done. I did not authorize any money out of my escrow for that purpose. She claimed it was on my Nov. statement. Well I got my statement and the home loan was taken and the escrow had approx **** in it. as normal. I asked about a release letter saying the home title did not have a lien any longer. She said they don't do that any longer. So now I know my property tax wasn't paid for 2022 either. It's now to late for me to pay and claim on my taxes for 2022. I was a customer in good standing for 10 yrs. I have removed all my funds from Marine Credit Union and terminated my accounts.I have no paper trail of what they actually did with my mortgage. Was there money left? How much was used for payoff? Lots of unanswered questions.

On November 16th I entered Marine Credit union in **********, *********. There were two women I was dealing with while making a payment for my repossessed car. I was told the wrong price to pay when I got there that was different than what I was told over the phone. The first woman got the second one to help her figure out how to make the payment of what I was told I had to pay originally before going in Marine Credit Union. I made a payment of ******** and provided full coverage insurance. After I made this payment and provided the info I was told I wouldn't have to make another payment until January. its now January and I'm getting another surprise that I actually missed a December Payment when I was told I didn't have to pay until January. No one walks in a bank with 4 grand to not listen to the information especially when I was told also I couldn't get my car back that exact day the payment was made. ***** id the person who passed this information to the second woman about where I pick my car up from, who to call, and when the next payment was due. I don't think that's okay to tell someone when the December payment could've been made. I'm working on building my credit while getting told false information from a credit union. If a payment was due next in December, that's what I shouldve been *** instead of January.

We made contact with the member to discuss the complaint that Marine Credit Union had pulled their credit without authorization. After some investigation, this was found to be inaccurate, as the member had applied for credit through a dealership who had an indirect dealership relationship with Marine Credit Union, therefore authorizing the credit inquiry. As such, credit was pulled and we are not able to honor the member's request to remove the credit inquiry.
