DO NOT borrow from this company. I was a customer in good standing for several years, went to apply for a loan after being badgered by phone calls and emails asking me to come back, only to be denied with no explanation. Deceitful business that will overcharge you for a tiny loan. Avoid.

BUYER BEWARE. Firstly, I am not complaining about the loan agreement or the incredibly inflated interest rates Makwa charges. They don't force you to take a loan with them nor sign on the "electronic line". You must make sure you understand the interest charges.Neither am I complaining necessarily about customer service persons.I sincerely warn anyone that chooses to enter into a loan contract with Makwa Finance to save all communications and/or screen shot all transactions including any changes in the payment, schedule, etc, to document discrepancies or regular correct transactions posted. If you have communication via their Chat, request that they email the copy of that conversation to you. Yes, they have that ability. If they say they can't, Screen Shot it.I would even suggest that you inform them that you will record phone conversations concerning discrepancies on your loan account.I will explain briefly that the first 4 months of the loan experience was fine. After a computer system update however that created issues with my account and other's If you read the complaints about payment issues with Makwa, there have been issues with payments since. The discrepancies were on their part but it was a Battle for them to correct the first issue as they seemingly didn't want to admit fault. The second time was again an obvious issue with their computer system and withdrawing money from my account and again I could prove that it was their system. I was so disgusted with the situation, I reached out to companies I owed and after explaining my dilemma they differed payments for a month so I could pay off my loan with Makwa. ALSO! Make sure that they post to atleast one of the Credit Bureaus. Six months and they (Makwa), still aren't on the CB site at all. I will be filing a complaint with the ******** ********* ********** *******

I took out a loan for 2400 dollars and fell behind due to the fact that I did not have enough funds to pay off the loan. I ended up calling the company in order to get this resolved as soon as possible due the fact that interest was accruing daily. I spoke to an agent and was assured that I would be put on a settlement plan and that no more interest would accrue. I was supposed to only pay about 62.81 for the next couple of months and the principal loan amount was lowered as well as part of the settlement plan. I spoke to this agent on May 23rd and figured that I had enough time to pay off this loan. I had previously been funded for this loan on May 6th and I figured the matter was resolved only to be shocked when 180 dollars was taken out of my bank account on May 31. I spoke to some agents about this issue and apparently the reason the settlement plan did not go through was due to the fact that the account has to be in collections before any form of settlement arrangement can be made in the first place. My loan as a result has continued to accrue interest and the agents and a supervisor said the only thing I can do is wait around eight weeks before my loan goes into collections and interest stops accruing. I have other bills to pay and do not want to wait that long before I can make an arrangement due to the fact that the loan will be very large by then and be much harder to pay off. I want the interest to stop accruing and the principal loan amount to be lowered, so I can actually pay it off. If possible as well, I would like this loan to be closed out so I do not have to worry about paying it anymore. I am open to discussing options and having this fixed as soon as possible because I do not want to deal with the daily interest anymore. Due to being misinformed, I am now dealing with a very large loan that needs to be resolved as I have other expenses that need to be covered. If I had been informed properly of my options this wouldn't have happened period.

This business has the most rude people Ive had to deal with in a long time. Their customer business suffers! They argue with you because they think they are right no matter that you know you are right. I have been trying to take care of a problem since March 13,2024.

Awful customer care. Nobody can get the information. A check has been deposited and the check was to pay off my loan. I have a copy of the front and back of the check. Rocket Mortgage is the company that issued the check.PLEASE HELP ME. I dont know what else to do. The check was received March 18, 2024. This company should not be in business.

The problem with this company is not the interest. You know up front that the interest will be insane and if you landed at Makwa Finance then you're obviously there out of desperation. No, to me the interest is not the issue. The issue is that, regardless of what the statement here on BBB says about "this is an expensive form of credit etc etc etc", they will pressure you to take more loans, and in what in my opinion is a somewhat deceptive way. When I called to pay off my loan the rep kept asking me to take out another loan and I had to repeatedly say no over and over again. When they can't get you to agree by phone they start sending you emails stating that your new loan is approved and ready and you just need to finalize it. Yes... The new loan you never applied for. This is very scammy behavior and not something I would expect of a legitimate finance company. There are tribal lenders out there that are just fine, but this is not one of them. While they might not technically be breaking any laws, if this kind of hard pressure and email shenanigans isn't predatory I don't know what is.

Do not make business with this company. I missed one payment by one day and my loan went up by $200 more in just one day. Do not make business with MAKWA. I spoke to the customer service representative and she gave me the runaround that it was because of the late return fee, and also the installment loan that I had, which makes no sense how much it one by one day. I am never doing business with them again, nor will I recommend them.

I received an email from this company offering to "settle my account" with a discount of 60% off...I did not take a loan out with these people, so not sure what they are discounting. They say I have a balance due of $3,3035.88. Not sure how I have a balance due on something I never got. These people are scammers.
