I brought the car in on 11/11/24 and told them the engine was knocking when turned off. Got a call a couple hours later and I was told they couldn't replicate the issue. I paid, went out to the parking lot, and it did it again right away. I bring the guy out to the parking lot and show him. Then they try telling me that the sound is normal but they'll take a video and get back to me after the mechanic sees it. Knocking in the engine is definitely not normal and nobody has reached back out. It's now 11/25/24. I've called three times in the last 2 weeks since going in, with no luck getting a hold of anybody, and no call back. Don't waste your money.Metro Ford and Kia of Madison Response

This customer was responded to on 11/26/2024 by the Service Manager as she had not received any calls or voicemails from the customer about this issue prior to that day. The Service Manager asked exactly what was going on and how she could help rectify the issue. The ****************** is delivering a loaner car to the customer and picking up her vehicle to bring back to the ****************** for the shop ******* to look at and try to duplicate so we can find some answers as to what is going on. When the Manager and the customer hung up the phone it sounded like the customer was happy with the outcome and the response.Review from G. S.

I came to the dealership to purchase my vehicle on 7/19/24 I was told I would get loaners whenever I brought the vehicle in for service I buy the vehicle and leave with it on 7/20/24 fast forward to 8/07/24 with 2,400 miles on the car i get an oil light on my dashboard meaning “low oil level” so i go to pop the hood like anybody would and the hood latch is broken so i bring the whole car to the dealership tell them what is going on and they take the car in and they offer me a loaner I give them my id like normal but this time i am dealing with Daniel ****** (great guy and absolutely 0 complaints with him) he asks me if I am 21? I say “no, why?” he replies with something like “you have to be 21 to receive a loaner do you have a parent or somebody we can give the loaner to?” i explain to Daniel that when i purchased the vehicle i was told i could get loaners and the sales people knew how old i was (obviously) I had also purchased the vehicle alone as an 18-year-old and I am the only name on the financing and everything he tells me I need to be 21 for a loaner I end up getting my father to help me receive the loaner car I get the loaner and have it for multiple days I bring the loaner back and receive my k5 back on 8/10/24 1 month later on 9/20/24 i get the light again and bring it to the dealership and the vehicle is at 6,452 miles this time I get the loaner with my father again and bring it back and get my car back on 9/21/24 and now the most recent time i brought it in was 10/09/24 for the the same problem they get it in to service and end up waiting on parts and updating me every now and then when i call them the car is in the shop for 14 days and I finally go to get it back 10/24/24 when they call me telling me it is ready I go in to recieve my keys there is more to the story but no more space to put it in the end they tell me I cannot ever get a loaner again because christie **** was forwarded a video of me driving the car? when I was already allowed to drive it.Metro Ford and Kia of Madison Response

This customer was informed that he was under the age of allowance to drive one of Metro ***** loaner vehicles. He was fully aware of this and his father came in and filled out the loaner agreement with his own name, his own ID and his own information. We were under the assumption that by doing this, the father was taking full responsibility for driving our loaner vehicle and finding another option for his son to use as a vehicle while his was in our shop. At no time was this customer given permission to drive our vehicle under age. We have policies in place for a reason and that reason is to keep our customers and our loaner vehicles safe. The customer and his father blatantly disregarded these rules and used the vehicle illegally. As the person that filled out the loaner agreement, which is a legal document, was not the same person as the one that was driving the vehicle. We want all of our customers to have a pleasant experience anytime they need to visit our dealership and we want to make it as seamless as possible when something comes up and we will need to keep their vehicles longer than normal. We do this by offering loaner vehicles so that the customer can go about their lives without their work/life balance being disrupted. However, we have rules and policies and when we find that these rules and policies have been broken we need to take action. Unfortunately this customer chose to break the rules and policy and the consequences of those actions result in removal of rights to utilize our loaner vehicles.Customer Response

haha, that's funny because you say my father and I "At no time was this customer given permission to drive our vehicle under age" and "The customer and his father blatantly disregarded these rules" I was given permission to drive the vehicle MULTIPLE times and you guys told me I was added as a driver and I could drive the vehicle and every time I received a loaner I WAS HANDED the keys to the car and every time I returned the car I returned it ALONE. also when I first brought my car to the dealership I was given a loaner car without my father and with only me on the "legal document" This dealership sits on nothing but lies and here is more proof of that LOL.Review from Pat V

I would say zero stars if I could. Don't go here. My salesperson was dishonest when I bought the car. He tried to add $1500 for a pinstripe to my new Kia. Told him absolutely not! He then added an additional $500.00 to my sales tax in the estimate. I called him out on it. The service department also lies and would never honor the warranty I was promised, on my license plate 20 yrs, 200,000 miles. They lie that you you didn't keep getting service from them, and I did, and then say your warranty is void. I have had to call corporate many times because they were so dishonest. But the last time in April they showed me a $9119.00 dollar bill to pick up my vehicle after the alternator and serpentine belt went out. They are so dishonest, run!!!Metro Ford and Kia of Madison Response

This review is unclear to us as the ********** that gave the quote of $9119.00 was not Metro Kia of Madison. The customer had their vehicle at another *** ********** and then brought their vehicle to Metro Kia of Madison asking us to take care of their issue. As for the complaint of ******** coverage, Metro *** can only do so much when it comes to honoring ***'s ******** policy. *** ******** clearly states that it is the customers responsibility to have their vehicle serviced at a licensed *** ********** every 7500 miles or every 6 months. This customer had their vehicle serviced here majority of the time but there were gaps in the maintenance records where the customer admitted to changing their own oil. *** declined ******** coverage due to that fact. Metro *** cannot be held responsible for following the policy of *** themselves as they are the ones that make the decisions for what is and is not covered. The customer did contact corporate themselves and were told they were not covered as well. This is not a decision of Metro Kia of Madison.Customer Response

Very dishonest. Always charged a diagnostic fee when I just wanted an oil change. Tried to make me pay $9119 for an alternator, PVC and serpentine belt. Was definitely price gouging. Don't let your family go here!Review from Christopher K

I scheduled an appointment with the service dept for Monday 7/17/23 to have the AC checked. I told the advisor the AC would be very cold but intermittently it would blow out only what I could describe as humid air. The advisor stated that it would be a $435 diagnostic charge but that the charge would be waived if after diagnosing the problem I had them fix it. They diagnosed it low on refrigerant. They added 200 grams and stated that it was now working properly. The next day it was doing the same thing. I brought the car the next day to be checked again. The advisor took the same info from me and told me it would be about 2 hours. I told him I would wait. At around 3:15, the advisor came to tell me that the problem was something different than what had been diagnosed the first time and that repairs would be, and he gave me 2 choices, either $1890.00 or $1990.00, depending on which service I decided to go with. I then asked if they could then deduct the cost of what I had already paid for because it was not diagnosed properly and he said they could not do that because they had fixed a problem that needed to be fixed. I again stated that the problem was not fixed and he said that I needed the coolant added and that is what they had diagnosed the problem as. I again said, but that wasn't the problem, clearly if it was still doing the same thing. He again stated that they couldn't deduct the amount paid from the service that I needed. I told him that I would not have the work done and that I was going to send a letter to the manager. He got me my paperwork, walked me to my car and told me that I had 30 days to have the work done at the quoted prices. If I had it done later, those prices might not be the same. I definitely would have had the repair done had the money that I had paid for the first repair that did not fix the problem, had been deducted from the cost of the newly diagnosed problem. I am very disappointed and will bring my car back for service again.Review from bruce r

I was interested in a Hyundai Telluride and entered info on a few sites and got responses from a Metro Kia rep whom I assumed was a sales person I should deal with. Got numerous calls, texts and emails from this person. So I followed up with her and decided to come see her after she suggested a test drive and stated she would have one ready to look at along with a Sportage I would consider as well. I drove 50 miles to get there and saw the vehicles in the lot. Went in, asked for her in which she tells me she is, "inventory" and she hooked me up with a sales guy. A guy who was really none too interested. Not an aggressive sales person at all as a matter so laid back I thought he was going to fall asleep. So he takes us out to look at the vehicles and hardly said a word to try to sell me the vehicles. I had to ask to get any info. So after 5 minutes we go back in and says I will look for keys so we can take a test drive. After 20 minutes of looking for the keys his sales manager comes over for some small talk. He pretty much informed me there will be no test drive because if they let everyone test drive there new vehicles they could put 4000 miles on them and they would not be knew anymore. Not to mention the 5K over invoice for market adjustment. So I pretty much got up and left and they had no qualms about that at all. Is this how new car dealers sell cars today? Are there that many persons buying cars on line that they don't even check out the vehicle as to it really being what they want for 50K? Not this guy. I have taken my 50K which I was willing to pay for something I truly wanted and going elsewhere. Also, it was a Saturday, very few customers besides us, so how do these people get paid? They must be on salary because they aren't making any money on commission. Anyway, I drove home without looking at any other dealerships do to my disgust. Never to return to Metro Kia. And from what I have read from other complaints at the BBB you should toReview from Sally S.

Inept service and sales department. Can’t get any return phone calls. A simple oil change resulted in no windshield wiper fluid, no reset or sticker for next oil change and told they don’t top off fluids. Whaaaat?? I’m wondering if they even changed my oil at all. The sales team and managers leave a lot to be desired. Very unprofessional and countless calls to management and finance team with no return phone calls - and rude beyond belief. I will never return here. I am making the drive from Madison to Janesville Kia for any of my service needs. They are so professional and the difference is unreal!
