  I purchased 2 new Weather Shield 3500 vinyl patio doors for my home 7 years ago. This spring while cleaning my windows, I noticed that the patio door on the south side of my house had faded to a point that it looked like it was 14 years old rather than 7 years old. Besides the fading issue, the center mullion cover at the jump stud mullion is coming off and the bottom corner of the fixed sidelight unit had warped apparently from the heat per the *** tech, and was pulling away from the glass. As far a the warping, I'm sure I'm not the only house with a Weather Shield south facing patio door. Since the warranty was 10 years I called ***** **** * ****** (***) the original installing company and they sent out a tech who at that time took pictures to send off to Weather Shield. This took place 3 months ago. Every time I called ***, they told me they were waiting to hear back from Weather Shield and they would call them again. On my last call about a month ago, I told them that since we can't seem to get a response from them, I had asked to have the Weather Shield rep stop by when he or she was in the area to take a look at my door. *** said they would request this and let me know when they hear back from Weather Shield. This morning I called *** since it's been about a month since I had heard from them once again and *** indicated that Weather Shield indicated that these issues were normal wear & tear and Weather Shield wasn't going to do anything including apparently, having the rep stop by and look at my door. *** also indicated that they won't do anything as Weather Shield carries the warranty. This has been a ongoing issue for 3 months now and apparently Weather Shield won't even come out to look at my door. To this I would say that their response to warranty issues leave a lot to be desired. Buyer beware if you're looking for new patio doors for your home.

  Had all new Weathershield windows installed. One window broke the first time it was opened. Weathershield would not replace or fix it. They sent an internal part we had to replace ourselves with no instructions. Had to have it fixed by a separate vendor. Terrible customer service - Don't buy these windows.

  Weather Shield warrants that its product hardware shall be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of 10 years from date of production. Weather Shield also provides a 1 year goodwill service labor warranty that covers defects in material and workmanship. Should this hardware be determined by Weather Shield to contain defects in material or workmanship during this applicable warranty period, Weather Shield will, at its option, repair the products or components at no charge, or provide replacement products or components at no charge, or refund the original purchase price of the products containing the defective components. Decisions as to whether to repair, replace or refund shall be made by Weather Shield in its sole discretion. This product was delivered in August of 2021 and the warranty claim was made in December of 2022. Weather Shield shipped a balance for replacement at no charge to satisfy the terms of the limited warranty.
