      This company has a very poor communication, very bad system and customer service. We were a faithful client for over 4 years; they have this thing that you have to renew every year and reinstate autopay and all payments methods again. The renewal came in a time that I was out of town and the church finance administrator missed the renewal payment as she works remotely and does get any mail (which is the only way they communicate). We had coverage till May 10,2024 because they cancel with no even a call or notification to make sure we knew it was going to be canceled, a tornado hit our building May 26, 2024 and when we communicated with them their response was your policy is not in place and refused to cover the damages. Even after we had paid for over 4 years and they canceled the policy with no communication. They know this is an issue, I have spoken with many others pastors and they have the same issue. They realize a month or 2 later that the building has no coverage. It looks they do that on purpose. We will not recommend this company, very dishonest in their dealings.

      Our small church had a Church Mutual policy until June 30, 2024. We have never filed any type of claim on our policy. However, when I emailed an inquiry in June about our renewal policy and when will the next auto payment be deducted - I was informed that "Sorry" we cancelled your policy and a notice was mailed. Never received such a notice by mail or email. The email forwarded with the cancellation notice did not include my email address or anyone from the church. They were able to mail the change of name notice in April when they would effectively be MGT Insurance on May 1st, but evidently could not mail the cancellation notice on May 6th. Needless to say, a ten-day notice of cancellation (only after I inquired) does not give a church enough time to get a new policy. The one star (or like someone else stated -10 if I could) goes against Church Mutual and MGT Insurance!

      Our church faced a year-long ordeal with Church Mutual after a busted pipe caused significant damage. Dealing with four agents created a lack of continuity and understanding. The claims process was intentionally unhelpful, leaving us frustrated.Despite the last agent being the most helpful, the overall experience was a nightmare. Recently, we received a shocking renewal fax, proposing a 42% premium increase and raising our water damage deductible to an unreasonable $50,000.Despite church volunteers mitigating damages to under $15,000, the lack of support and cooperation from Church Mutual has left us dissatisfied. We strongly discourage any organization from considering Church Mutual as their insurance provider.

      Our church has been with Church Mutual for over 15 years and never filed a single claim with them. They cancelled our policy and we did find out about it for months due Church Mutual reverting a mailing address that had not been used in years. They had been sending everything else to the correct address prior to cancellation. When we contacted them we were told the policy was cancelled due to being in an elevated disaster prone area. What is interesting is the other churches in town that are insured with Church Mutual still have active policies. If you are looking for insurance for your church may I suggest looking elsewhere.

      Our church had been with Church Mutual for many years. Their rates keep going up for no reason, to the point where we had to switch providers. We found several other insurance companies that were thousands of dollars cheaper and with better coverage. I made all the calls to cancel our policy months in advance. On the phone everyone was polite, but Church Mutual still sent us another months bill for the month after the cancellation date. After two years we had to pay that bill that we didn't owe. That one month bill was for the month after the cancellation date as I said. I felt as if I was dealt with in a very dishonest way, all this for one months bill. We always pay what we owe, but no one wants to pay a bill they don't owe. My suggestion is buyer beware.

      Our Church has been insured with Church Mutual Insurance Co., S.I. for more years than the membership is able to remember. We have never filed a claim until September of 2018, (Hurricane ********). The claim was paid, and we were able to make the necessary repairs to our sanctuary and our fellowship hall. We continued to pay our monthly premiums without hesitation. After worship last Sunday, (January 7th, ****) we reviewed the mail we received during the week and found a check in the amount equal to the last two months premium for 2023. On Monday, January 8th I contacted the company to inquire about the check. After being put on hold for about five minutes, I was advised that a refund was issued because the policy is no longer in force. When asked why it was not in force, I was advised that the carrier chose not to offer a renewal due to our lost history. When I advised that we have only ever had one claim which was for damages due to hurricane ******** in 2018, I was told that the 2018 claim was the reason for the non-renewal. I was further advised that a non-renewal notice was issued in July 2023 advising that our coverage would no longer be in force effective September 16th 2023. Needless to say we never received the notice. Before I retired I worked in the insurance industry for more than 42 years, and I have never heard of cancelling a policy for one claim. Especially when the coverage had been in force for at least more than 20 years. And I certainly have never heard of non-renewing a policy five years after the claim was filed. There are hundreds of churches in our denomination that are insured with Church Mutual, and I will make sure they are all made aware of the tactics being used by Church Mutual.

      It took me six weeks to get a certificate of insurance. The company continued to complicate the process and offered no help to get it resolved. I ask for it to be referred to a supervisor and they ignored my request. I later found out that the supervisor was part of the problem so no wonder he ignored my request. There are deep seeded problems with this company and I would not rely on them for anything.

      For 30+ years we have had Church Mutual for our house of worship, payment religiously without hesitation. Never filed a claim prior to 2021 during the IDA hurricane/storm season. Church Mutual turned their backs on us, when we needed them, they were no help to us. we filed a claim they denied it and we appealed and they upheld their original decision. Money takers and grabbers I say.

      I must say that our experience with church mutual has been one of the worst experiences yet. We have their auto insurance. The experience with that part of the company has been a disaster. I've spoken with several reps and adjustors who simply put, have giving me the run around. You can hardly reach your personal adjustor and when you leave messages, they are hardly returned. I call today to the escalation department who had a rep transfer me to a person who had retired. This is unacceptable! It is an experience that leaves your anxiety levels at their all-time high. I've tried to be very patient, but this is totally ridiculous.
