1 starDidnt pay enough to cover damages from a fire. Dropped the policy without proper notice (they found a legal loop hole). Refused to send me copies of letters they sent to the property manager when the original documents were lost by the former property manager. They pay what they want and not what things actually cost leaving their clients to pay more out of pocket.Review fromFirst Baptist C

1 starOur church had Church Mutual for over 25 years and never made a claim until 2024. We has severe hail damage at that time. They hired a 400 lb man to look at our very steep pitch roof. He never stepped foot on our roof and denied our claim. They said they paid him $1,200 for his denial report and considered that payment of claim. We never received a penny. For 2025, They decided not to renew our policy because of the claim they denied. One month prior to our non renewal, severe high winds came and ripped a large amount of shingles off our church roof…. Church Mutual sent the same guy they sent out the prior year. He wouldn’t look at the shingles that were ripped off our roof because, “how do I know that the shingles came from the church roof because, they could have come from the neighbors”. We are in field on a Five acre parcel of land in the country. We still have yet received our non renewal notice and cannot get new insurance because we have an open claim. From the Church Mutual website,…….Church Mutual …… We act with honor. “Doing the right thing is in our DNA. We lead by example, embrace diversity and exhibit integrity. “. They do not act with Honor and doing the right thing is NOT in their DNA and integrity does not fit with any interactions we have had with Church Mutual!! Run away as fast as you can from Church Mutual insurance company! Church Mutual takes your money and they do not stand behind their policies they sell.Review fromMichael L

1 starOur church had been insured by this company for years. Cost continued to rise the last 15 years. We had a claim for hail and storm damage 7 1/2 years ago. We had another hail storm in ********** in 2024. We did a claim for the damage to our church roof and gutters and two storage buildings. We recieved a letter stating because of having to pay out $45000 in repairs, we were dropped. They did keep our vehicle coverage, but went uo on it by $600 a year. Now that we were droppep by this company, my church is struggling to get coverage from the market. We have been denied coverage. We have recieved offers for costs three times what we were paying them. If you are looking for coverage on your church, don't trust this company. They are only about their profits. It is sad that it has come to this for churches.Review fromPaul R

Our church was dropped by Church Mutual allegedly in July 2024 but we never received notice of cancellation. When we asked for a copy of the letter, they sent us one that belonged to another church. We had 1 large claim with them in 20 years. After the claim in 2018 they doubled our rates but waited until this year to drop us.Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.

Our camp has been a customer for over 30 years. We have had a water slide for 20 plus years... never had a claim on it and they decide they no longer want to cover it. This is after they raised my rates 67% and then decided not to cover some of my buildings and raise all of my deductibles. When i called all i got was "I understand let me get you info so you can get quotes elsewhere" Basically they don't want my business or they don't want to serve camp ministry. They said they had to make decisions to keep their favorable rating.... im a small camp and small business owner I guess their numbers are more important than me. They are a sponsor for **** what a joke when they are dumping camps in mass. They also told me they had to make up for storm events around the country... which makes no sense as to why you would quit covering certain things and raising rates... you would think if you are covering less you wouldnt raise rates that much. Our waterslide is something people look forward to and has been for years what am I supposed to do put an out of order sign on it? Again zero claims on it... to some actuary somewhere its a risk to my campers it is a big part of their camp experience.... disonnected, non empathetic, unhelpful. I had to call in just to figure out if there was anything I could do and was told I could saven1500 a year if i removed stuff from my buildings.. what!!! What a joke of a companyChurch Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.

This company has a very poor communication, very bad system and customer service. We were a faithful client for over 4 years; they have this thing that you have to renew every year and reinstate autopay and all payments methods again. The renewal came in a time that I was out of town and the church finance administrator missed the renewal payment as she works remotely and does get any mail (which is the only way they communicate). We had coverage till May 10,2024 because they cancel with no even a call or notification to make sure we knew it was going to be canceled, a tornado hit our building May 26, 2024 and when we communicated with them their response was your policy is not in place and refused to cover the damages. Even after we had paid for over 4 years and they canceled the policy with no communication. They know this is an issue, I have spoken with many others pastors and they have the same issue. They realize a month or 2 later that the building has no coverage. It looks they do that on purpose. We will not recommend this company, very dishonest in their dealings.Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.

Our small church had a Church Mutual policy until June 30, 2024. We have never filed any type of claim on our policy. However, when I emailed an inquiry in June about our renewal policy and when will the next auto payment be deducted - I was informed that "Sorry" we cancelled your policy and a notice was mailed. Never received such a notice by mail or email. The email forwarded with the cancellation notice did not include my email address or anyone from the church. They were able to mail the change of name notice in April when they would effectively be MGT Insurance on May 1st, but evidently could not mail the cancellation notice on May 6th. Needless to say, a ten-day notice of cancellation (only after I inquired) does not give a church enough time to get a new policy. The one star (or like someone else stated -10 if I could) goes against Church Mutual and MGT Insurance!Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.

Our church faced a year-long ordeal with Church Mutual after a busted pipe caused significant damage. Dealing with four agents created a lack of continuity and understanding. The claims process was intentionally unhelpful, leaving us frustrated.Despite the last agent being the most helpful, the overall experience was a nightmare. Recently, we received a shocking renewal fax, proposing a 42% premium increase and raising our water damage deductible to an unreasonable $50,000.Despite church volunteers mitigating damages to under $15,000, the lack of support and cooperation from Church Mutual has left us dissatisfied. We strongly discourage any organization from considering Church Mutual as their insurance provider.Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.

Our church has been with Church Mutual for over 15 years and never filed a single claim with them. They cancelled our policy and we did find out about it for months due Church Mutual reverting a mailing address that had not been used in years. They had been sending everything else to the correct address prior to cancellation. When we contacted them we were told the policy was cancelled due to being in an elevated disaster prone area. What is interesting is the other churches in town that are insured with Church Mutual still have active policies. If you are looking for insurance for your church may I suggest looking elsewhere.Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.
