A dentist here filled a cavity on the cusp of my tooth without fully excavating & disinfecting the decay. I trusted him but turns out, bc of his negligence, I now need a root canal. I've also come to learn the filled cavity needed a crown the whole time. He did quick and shoddy work to get me out of the chair as quickly as possible, which has compromised my health and led to thousands of dollars of more dental work needed. My new dentist is reporting them to the *** as well.Business Response

I went to Aspen Dental for issues with my teeth. They determined I had periodontitis and recommended a two session deep cleaning. I was quoted about $1000 and paid half that day and the other half the day of my first cleaning. That was on 6/21/24. Today I received a new bill in the mail for an additional $576. Looking into them a bit online and it appears this is a regular practice for this company.Business Response

My son saw this provider in June 2024. At that time despite him having primary and secondary dental insurance they collected $371.80 from him up front. Additionally, they have never billed the secondary insurance despite multiple calls and emails to the organization. I have had to spend a large amount of time telling them how to handle the billing yet they still send me statements and refuse to rebill correctly or acknowledge that they actually owe us a refund .Business Response

I was seen on 10/18/23 for a routine dental cleaning. I was told prior to my service that my insurance was in-network *********** PPO dental plan). I did not receive any bill or update until 02/29/24 when I received a bill for $190 stating that this was the out of pocket cost for no insurance. I contacted the office requesting that they file with my insurance and received an explanation of benefits from my insurance company stating that my balance is $30 (my usual copay for routine screenings). I have called probably 15 times requesting updates on this situation as I continue to receive bills stating that I owe $230 now and will be sent to collections. Every time I call the 800 customer service billing number, I wait on hold for approximately 45 minutes before the line disconnects. I have never been able to reach a representative. I then contacted the local office and have been told by 4 different people claiming to be the office manager that they will look into this and call with an update. No update is ever received. I have been dealing with this for almost 1 year with NO resolution. I would like to pay my bill, the $30 as indicated by my insurance, and be done with this company. But nobody is responding to my inquires and threatening collections.Business Response

For some reason almost every appointment I have scheduled with Aspen dental has been unconsentually rescheduled. When I got a text yesterday saying my appointment was being rescheduled yet again, I called and inquired as to why????? They told me that it was my cleaning appointment for later in the month that needs rescheduled, not my appointment two days from then (Friday 6.7.24 is my appointment for a filling they have already rescheduled on me at least twice for this filling after I had already driven the 45 min round trip drive there) and we confirmed that the appointment was still good and I would finally get my filling. That was told to me yesterday. Today I got a call from *******? (They mumbled I couldn't tell if that was there name) They work in the ***************** The person left me a threatening voicemail saying if I didn't call and confirm AGAIN they would cancel my appointment. So I called AGAIN (while working and taking care of two kids) to confirm AGAIN. ******* answered again and interrupted me constantly, berated me, spoke abusively to me, threatened me again with canceling my appointment because she "didn't like the tone of my voice" (remember this is after she threatened me multiple times LOL) I have the recordings of the threatening voicemail from *******. I do not feel safe with someone who has verbally threatened me several times having access to my medical records and personal information. I do not feel safe in the office after I was threatened multiple times.Business Response

On January 8th, 2023 I got a tooth extracted from Aspen Dental after going from my regular dentist due to needing emergency care. I got the tooth extracted just fine after paying them $595 between the extraction and exam. Afterwards I felt decent enough, I was just happy to be out of pain. Since then ive had to go to the emergency room twice for severe headaches, nausea, heart palpitations, and insomnia. This is due to part of the tooth being left in my gum after extraction which is causing body wide pain. I cannot go to Aspen dental again as I dont have dental insurance and know they will charge me exorbitant amounts again to simply fix the mistake they made. Now I have to go to another dentist and hope *** have enough money after what Aspen dental caused to be able to fix it. I felt pressured in the office feeling pushed into a decision over wether to get a ***** dollar root canal from a referred specialist or to get the tooth extracted by them. Since im an EIGHTEEN year old patient I chose the extraction as I knew I wasnt able from the get go to do a root canal. As a younger dental patient I feel very taken advantage of and upset that aspen dental has left me going to the er in severe pain. At this point the only thing that would help to get my money back to go elsewhere to get the mistake fixed because being charged almost 600 dollars to be in debilitating pain is disgusting.Business Response

On April 6th I went to aspen dental for a new client appointment. I wanted a cleaning but they said I needed an initial appointment first.I had 0 issues with my teeth. No pain, no sensitivity. They took **rays and said I had 8 cavities that needed to be filled asap as they could lead to root canals. I asked are you sure? I have no pain. No issues. Everything feels fine. Just wanted a cleaning. They said they were sure and began point to the **rays. I asked if I could get a cleaning and the fills asap since I didnt wanna risk my teeth getting worse. They said a cleaning had over a year out of waiting list. However, they could fill all of my cavities in a few weeks. On April 24th I went in for the first 4 fillings and I felt everything after she gave me 6-8 shots. I said are you sure this is okay? This hurts. They didnt hurt before. She assured me I just needed more shots to numb it. After I left my mouth was bleeding. I spent 5 minutes spitting out blood. Confused as to why fillings would cause bleeding. On April 27th I went back for four more fillings on the other side of my mouth. She told me that if I felt pain that lasted after a week to call. I had waited 2 weeks (confused as Ive never had fillings in adult teeth before). I called and said I had serious pain everywhere and still couldnt eat food. Even soft food hurt. The lady who answered the phone said to let her talk to the dentist. I then hear her in the background ask and get a call the specialist reply. She said call a specialist called something located in ******* I said okay what do I tell them??? They said that Im having pain. I said okay do I need a referral? They said yes we will send one over. Two days later I called the specialist and they said they could not see me as my dentist needs to conduct more testing in house. As my pain was too broad. And that they never received a referral. I then called the dentist and told them my concerns on their emergency answering. They saidBusiness Response

On 8/18/22 went in for a cleaning & to start fixing broken tooth with a replacement crown until the permanent crown came in. The cleaning went well but once the crown procedure was being done is when it started going downhill fast. Everything was being rushed and hurried. More concerned with making money instead of ensuring that their patient was comfortable and understood what was going on. Finally got everything done, then on 8/19/22 is when the tooth pain & bad headache starts to develop and it keeps getting worse over the weekend. So I called the emergency call number to have an on call dentist call & give me some help/advice how to handle this pain and that never worked out. Called 3 times on Saturday and 4 times on Sunday until I finally got a response. Then even the response seemed like I was interrupting the on call dentists weekend!! Oh just take ibuprofen and call first thing Monday morning. Then Sunday night might top lip and left side face had swelled up nasty & was turning purple. I went to my ER & was told I had an infection/bacteria in that tooth that was was worked on. Was given some medication & released early Monday morning. Called right away when the office opened & asked to speak to a manager and was told she was busy but she would call me back. Well that never happened!! It took me contacting the corporate office & then they finally contacted the local office and connected us. I was able to get in at 3pm that Monday to see if they could fix this problem that they caused. I get there and they start to look at everything & the pain they were putting through was too much!!! Finally the temporary crown was taken off & she looks at my x-rays & says oh that's why right there you need a root canal. So if she was doing her job on 8/18/22 when I first was there & not ******* to get me out she would have noticed this to begin with & would have probably mentioned that I got the root canal to begin with!! So now I should get my $308 back right?? Nope!!!Business Response
