My complaint is for a bait and switch tactic used by this dealership.I visited this dealership and took a look at an in stock vehicle on the lot. The salesperson confirmed that I can purchase online if it is still available when I made my purchase decision. After looking at other vehicles, I decided to buy the one from Bergstrom Automotive (2022 Genesis ****** and thought I did so online. I entered all information that was required, and the sale looked to be confirmed - even allowing me to arrange delivery.A few days later (today), I received a call that told me that they cannot sell me that car for the advertised price, and that I'd have to pay over $10,000 more to purchase the vehicle. They confirmed the car is still available, but that the advertised price would not be honored due to a mistake. The car is still listed at $41,000 on their website (if the advertised price is a mistake, why has it not been corrected), but they say I need to pay them over $50,000 for the same vehicle - or that I could purchase a different vehicle for that price that is inferior to the advertised make/model.I don't believe that this is an honest mistake as they have not corrected the "error" on their website. I could go on the website right now and "buy" the car again. I made my purchase in good faith.Business response

In July of 2021 my wife and I purchased 2 vehicles from bergstrom Chevrolet on college Ave. Our salesman Nate, talked a good 5alk throughout entire process and the minute we drove off the lot, we didn't exist. Numerous texts and phone calls all answered with 1 excuse after another and 6 months later, not one concern has been dealt with on their end. From checks not being sent for canceled gap on trade ins to ordered car mats not coming in. There are numerous technical bulletins on my car that they denied knowing anything about. To telling me they would not help with repairs even though they sold it knowing about these issues.Business response

I put a down payment of $500.00 on a vehicle (Deal #*****) on August 28th. The salesperson assured me that they had a specialist that could remove the smoke odor from the vehicle. As a precaution, I had put a contingency on the deal to remove the smoke smell from the car. The first attempt to remove the smell did not work. The salesperson, ***** said they would try again. I had no contact with him for several days. I asked for updates and got none. I spoke with him yesterday, September 6th. He said he was still trying to get the 3rd party smoke remover person to come back. Today he texted me saying the car was sold to someone else yesterday. Now I'm out a good deal on a car because he, and the dealership, couldn't clean a car in the 9 days between August 28th and September 6th.I am waiting for a refund of the $500 deposit and waiting for another vehicle like it. As the customer I can say I was not treated well.Business response

I am the ******* ******* for Bergstrom Corporation and its subsidiaries, including Victory Lane Imports, Inc.
Upon receipt of this complaint I spoke to the General Manager of the dealership and have the following
response.
Mr. ************* came to the dealership on August 28, 2021 to purchase a vehicle. Mr. *************
stated that the vehicle smelled of smoke and if we were able to remove the smell he would like to purchase
the vehicle. He put a $500 deposit on the vehicle. The dealership was not able to remove the smoke odor to
Mr. *************'s satisfaction and the dealership stated they would try again. Mr. ************* was
informed that once the third-party was contacted and had a date to remove the odor, they would let him
know. Shortly after this, Mr. ************* left a voicemail stating that he was no longer interested in the
vehicle and would like his money refunded. The vehicle was sold to another guest and Mr. *************'s
deposit has now been refunded which is his suggested resolution. We would be pleased to work with him on
a future vehicle purchase.
