  Nick is very personable & passionate about his work & company. His crew is great too. Bluejacket Builders is very reasonably priced, I’ve gotten many projects done by them in the last few years. An attic space turned into a walk in closet, flooring, shelving, kitchen uplift, storm door install. Excited to schedule a deck remodel! They are my go to for home projects & I have referred them to many friends who have also used them.

  Nick and the guys with Bluejacket were on time and professional. Pointed out things to me in my project that I over looked and didn't think of. They guided me through the process and explained everything. The quality and craftsmanship were what I was expecting. I was very happy with the finished project. Nick is very knowledgeable, easy to talk with and gets the job done right the first time.

  I got a quote from this company for some work. When I got the quote, it was NOT what I shared I wanted and it was a huge price, therefore (metal and vinyl and not wood!) When I asked for a quote WITH wood, I was told quite matter of factly that the cost for my 'job' would not be less than what I recieved-period-EVEN though it was not a quote for what I asked for!! (Wood!). I guess they are more concerned with making that dollar, then gaining customers and listening to and honoring costumer requests. I have never been made to feel less 'valued' than when I dealt with this company. One would think a business like this relies on getting jobs and gaining customers to stay open! Who knows, maybe this job would have lead to our bathroom remodel job, which is next on the docket, but fat chance of that now! I am so disappointed. Do not trust this company.

  Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and my apologies if your experience with our company was not up to expectations. When we visited your home, (almost 6 months ago from the time of your review) I did not meet with you directly, so perhaps some of the discussion did not get conveyed properly. It was explained that the driving factor for the pricing on this project was from the labor needed to properly address the structural issues. It was also communicated prior to sending a formal proposal, that your initial budget would not be sufficient for the work requested, but you asked for us to provide a proposal anyway. We also bid projects using the materials we prefer to use to provide the quality and finish we are proud to put our name on. In many cases such as yours, it is a nominal difference - if any - as the labor to custom build a wood railing system is offset by the ease of installing a composite railing that is no maintenance, and will stay looking great for our customers for a long time. There are many times that we do not “Listen to our customers” especially in cases of structural items. People reach out to us for our expertise and decades of experience and our constant drive to stay on top of the latest technology and methods in the industry to get their project done correctly. Our customers expect us to have their best interest in mind and to use materials and processes based on our expertise. As far as pricing, We understand we will not get 100% of the jobs we bid, and we are ok with that. I cannot speak for other companies, but our pricing is very competitive for the high quality of work we do and the elevated standards we have for ourselves. We use the same formula for all of our projects to charge what we need to for our business to be successful and to take care of our employees and their families. It seems to be working well for us as we are currently booked 6-8 months out and have a portfolio full of highly satisfied clients over the past 4 years. We have a project guidance page on our website that gives our potential clients some great pointers to help them through the process, to ensure they do their due diligence, get multiple proposals, and things to look for when comparing them. So to suggest we are somehow “untrustworthy” because our assessment of your project and what it would take for us to do it properly did not meet your planned budget, is completely unjust. Our company was built on trust and doing the right thing and it is one of the many reasons our clients make the decision to work with us.
